My 11 year old son and I were shopping for a queen size mattress for him to put on the old box spring we had. What I really need is two new complete queen beds but after just moving, that’s not financially doable so we were starting with what was most needed. I can’t stand sales people but when it comes to mattresses, I’m leery about buying used. When we walked into Sleepy’s I told the gentleman working there that a was looking for the least expensive queen mattress. He showed us what they had, and also gave us advice on inexpensive ways we could improve on what we already had. No sales pitch, no bullshit, just someone who heard both our needs and concerns. Told him thank you and that we had other places to check. When we headed to the car, my son remarked that he thought it was odd that he told us ways we could improve what we have that didn’t involve buying something at his store. I told him that’s the kind of person you remember and buy from because they’re a decent human being instead of a pushy salesperson. We went down the road to Mattress Warehouse where we got to hear a perfect example of who not to buy from explaining to some other shoppers that the only shopping experiences that people leave reviews for are the bad ones so you have to take that into consideration when reading reviews. Seriously? Then he had nothing even remotely close to the prices we had been quoted at Sleepy’s. So we turned around, went straight back to Sleepy’s, and because they could do 6 mos of interest free financing for me, bought 2 mattresses. And it turned out that the gentleman who sold them to us was John, the Manager. I can’t recommend him highly enough. The entire experience was wonderful! And my son is thrilled with his new mattress!
