Every now and then I find myself in need of shipping services. Whether it be to send a package to a family member, or to return something to Amazon. This has brought me to this UPS location on multiple occasions. Almost Each time I have received relatively prompt, professional, and expedited service. Service: Starting-off my review, I will highlight the ‘Service’ category as this is typically the most valid and applicable facet of this type of business. As I mentioned above, almost every time I have been here the workers have been relatively quick about getting me in and out. This is especially nice because I am usually on my measly 30 minute lunchbreak. Although their efficiency is usually top notch, there has been two experiences(ironically with the same worker) where a customer in front of me had multiple packages to ship that had not been tendered or given a label. Conversely, I had one package with a prepaid label on it ready to go. The first time, I asked if I could just drop the package off and was met with an attitude like I was inconveniencing her or trying to cut the line. Let’s see, how can we EFFICIENTLY do our jobs? Should I take care of the transaction that is going to take 10 – 15 minutes and hold-up an entire line, or should I MULTI-TASK and attempt to PRIORITIZE the customers that come in based on the relative amount of time it may take to complete their request? Hmmm… Well, maybe for me this is an obvious choice, but to her it wasn’t. So, why didn’t I just drop the package off and leave? Well, for one, that is rude. Two, I wanted a receipt verifying that it was dropped off. So I waited, and waited, and waited. No idea why it was so hard to just take my damn package, give me a receipt, and continue with the laborious customer. Yes, this happened twice in different months — with the same person. Anyway, despite this and generally speaking, I find them to do a pretty decent job compared to other similar establishments(USPS, Fed Ex, etc.) Service: 3⁄5(4 — 1 for a couple bad experiences) Atmosphere: I know, this is kind of a strange category for a UPS place, but I know that you have been to businesses where the store is just gross — or the people. I have actually been to a UPS store(in Memphis) where there was trash on the ground(empty bottles and other miscellaneous stuff) and the worker was wearing a pair of pants that were several sizes too small with the words ‘Juicy’ on the bottom. Not only that, but more of her butt was out of her pants than in her pants. No underwear that I could see. Yes, I probably stared longer than I should have to determine this golden nugget of information; but it was like a horrific car crash — just too difficult to avert my eyes. Anyway, I digress, this particular store is very cleanly and everything is organized well on the shelves. I have also been to UPS stores where all the boxes are mixed together in no discernible order — along with other supplies and materials. Ironically, this was not the same store as my ‘juicy’ friend. All-in-all, I think that this store does a nice job in terms of cleanliness, recovery(restocking stuff and fixing displays at the end(and during) of the day). Atmosphere: 4⁄5 Final Thoughts: There really isn’t too much else to talk about. When it comes to price, that is all set by corporate and the rates are pretty competitive with every other shipping company I have been to — maybe except for USPS with their ‘one flat rate’ on sized-boxes. Either way, if you want a pretty decent shipping experience, I think that this UPS is a fine place to do business.
