I recommend the ‘General Tso Chicken’ here! Sweet and Spicy chicken served with Rice.

Good food and fairly priced. We mostly have food delivered to our home. Home delivery is free for orders $ 15 and above

Definitely the best sit-in & take-out Chinese place in Harrison /East Newark. Reasonable prices, large portions, & good food for«take-out» food. Very friendly staff. Delivery times are usually within 30 to 45 minutes if you live in Harrison. I would highly recommend the black pepper chicken, juicy buns(xiao long bao), pork fried dumplings, & their wonton soup. Very friendly staff.

Clean and friendly. Owner from hong kong. Different taste and cooking style compared to typical chinese restaurant. Recommended.

The curry chicken noodle soup was exactly what I needed to pep me up after a long and tiring day at work. The spices were correctly balanced and the soup itself was tasty. We ordered orange chicken as well which was a bit too crispy for my taste but cooked well nonetheless. Worth a visit for sure.

The food is good but they can never get your delivery order right or on time! Once we used Seamless to place our order and it never even came. I might consider ordering here again but they HAVE to get their Sugah Honey Iced Tea together! Tip: check your order before you let the delivery guy go and sign the check.

My go-to eating joint in the town. Food is always fresh and they made to the order-the way you prefer to have. Love black pepper chicken and chicken with garlic sauce. Their lomein is must to have. And price ha. reasonably low for the quality to get.

This is considered one of those quick grab some Chinese food take out type places and it’s actually pretty nice. It’s not like those cheesey Chinese take out places you see everywhere, they actually present their restaurant a lot nicer than most and the food itself is actually pretty darn good for Chinese take out. When you actually eat in instead of taking out the plating is a lot nicer than some other Chinese take out and you almost feel like you’re eating at an actual«restaurant.» This is a nice place to grab some cheap Chinese food, I really recommend the black pepper chicken and the beef and broccoli. This is definitely a place that I would regularly go back to due to the price and quality of food compared to the other ones down the street.

only decent chinese food in harrison. all the others are your typical strip mall chinese junk food places. when we don’t feel like driving to chinatown or parsippany(noodle chu), this is our go to place.

I have been eating at this place since 2007 and they have been very consistent with their taste, service and overall performance. The place is very small to dine in but the ambiance is soothing. The owner is super nice, She recognizes me even if I haven’t been there for months. I usually order spicy food here and their black pepper chicken is outstanding. Also I would recommend sweet corn chicken soup and curry chicken. It has got the best Chinese food in the area

The only one that enjoyed the four dishes we took out-General Tso tofu(only edible one), broccoli and greenbeans, vegetable dumplings, lo mein, was the garbage disposal. Pity those folk who think highly or even adequately of this place. Come to Hoboken or anywhere else

Pretty good. We had a hot and sour soup, jalapeño sliced beef, and seafood sizzling plate. All of them were cooked quite well and were pretty much what you’d expect.

Decent Americanized Chinese. Okay but not great. I tend to prefer Golden Eagle a two miles down Harrison Ave.

The fish filet and tofu lunch was a B+ I ordered brown rice $ 1 extra, but they gave me white rice anyway. Probably because the white rice was old, you can tell it by the taste. A little less moist that if it were fresh. The fish filet was coated with egg and flower and it paired well with the tofu, which was the fried: dried AGE style. The brown sauce that came with t was good, nothing special however I wish they would give a little more, because my dish ran dry before all the rice was gone. Nothing sadder that old white tice with nothing to mix it with. Still I like this place, 1) it seems authentic 2) it is much better that you would expect for main street in Harrison.

Awesome quality. We usually make it to go on Saturday night. The food is always good and the price is best in the area.

Get the black pepper chicken and you will do alright. Best to take food out as the place is very small. They have many great chinese dishes that you do not find in the run of the mill generic chinese food joint. The owner is very nice as well. If you find yourself here forgo the boring chicken and broccoli and try something new and exciting. 5 Grains — In!

Consistently yummy General Tso’s Tofu? Yep, they’ve got that. Super plump steamed vegetable dumplings? Oh yeah. Paper thin scallion pancakes with a side of curry sauce? Yes, please. Lo Mein that will feed you for days on end? Check. Crab Rangoon? Finger lickin’ good! Just 5 of the many reasons I love 5 Grains Rice!

It’s convenient and their lunch specials are very affordable. I won’t go crazy and tell you this place is high on my list of Chinese food places, but it’s quick and easy and I always get service with a smile. Seriously though-the food is ok. Their lunch combos are standard fare and if you order from the regular menu they are pretty pricey. Their ‘spicy’ dishes, aren’t really spicky-adding a couple of kung pao peppers doesn’t automatically make something spicy people. The noodle dishes are usually pretty good-try the Singapore Chow Mei Fun… As a self professed egg-roll snob I wouldn’t give their egg-rolls two stars. Very small(half the size of any egg-roll I’ve ever had) and really not filled with the egg-roll goodness I love. Yeah, I know, it’s the least healthy thing on the menu… but that’s why I love them so… If it wasn’t so convenient I would look elsewhere, but for now, this is my Newark/Harrison Chinese food place.

5 Grains Rice is a very nice surprise for an Americanized-Chinese restaurant. Their food tastes great, prices are well-suited for the portions they give to you and their interior is really bright, clean and welcoming. Whats better is that I don’t feel like their dishes are completely laden with MSG — WIN!
