A bit hidden but a nice change for some Peruvian style food. I enjoyed the beers they offer and loved the staff here. The food was well prepared and tasty also. The seafood paella dish was comforting and flavorful. Nothing that blew me out of the water but I really did like the corn snacks as appetizers.

Came with some friends on a Sunday night and thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. It’s a smallish restaurant so if you have a party bigger than 4, I’d try to call in advance to make sure they can properly set you up. Will definitely come back. What we got: Mixed Seafood Ceviche — pretty good; liked the sauce Empanadas — just okay Tacu Tacu Encebollado(Steak and Fried Rice) — delicious! everyone’s favorite! Aji de Gallina(Chicken Stew) — really enjoyed this; tasted a little bland at first but got better and better with each bite! Would recommend Paella — pretty good but a bit messy getting the crab meat out Pescado Sudado(Steamed Fish) — pretty good; liked the red pepper sauce Service: Shirley was great. Very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations.

Excellent. We had a delicious paella. Mussels, calamari, white fish, crabs, shrimp. Dessert of flan and quinoa pudding were warm and creamy. Great place!

Amazing meal — super fresh, nicest people around, and overall a warm and lovely experience. The ceviches are fantastic, as was everything else. Definitely get the picarones with the special lucuma ice cream for dessert!

While we typically order takeout here the ambiance of the restaurant is great — particularly the outdoors section. Waiters are very nice and make you feel at home. When we order out we usually get the same thing(fried rice with either chicken or shrimp with a side of empanadas) and they always remember us. Their seasoning and sauce is delicious — especially for those who like a little spice to their meals. A little pricy at times but still worth it! Definitely a hidden treasure in Harrison.

The food, friendly service and very different favors would warrant a 5 star but… This isn’t a 5 star restaurant. We sat outside which was pleasant but not 5 star. The inside was nice but simple. for what it is our entire party was very happy with each dish. Their rice was cooked perfect as was the fish special we ordered. Their wine was a bit expensive given their physical plant. All in all, as NYC restaurant patrons, we will definitely return. Just don’t bring fancy schmancy snooty people here. Bring your friends that want good food and friendly(if not 1st class) service. Hope this place hits a home run and has a long profitable run!!!

What a great little Oasis in the middle of town… The staff is friendly and helpful if it’s your 1st time eating Peruvian food the staff explained the different dishes. The food was delicious and presented very nicely. I highly recommend the restaurant.

We were passing by Harrison for dinner and Googled«best restaurant Harrison NY,» and Quenas was listed as the second and fifth hits. And deservedly: Our dinner was phenomenal. The standout was Tiradito de Pescado, an appetizer of cold fish marinated in lemon juice and Peruvian yellow peppers. It was very lemony and very spicy, and my mouth is watering just remembering it. Delicious. Also, this might be trivial but Quenas’s restroom is one of the cleanest, neatest, and most hospitable that I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. This is just one of those small points that tell you, yes, the owners really do care about your experience in their restaurant. The whole restaurant’s décor was lovely, the service was warm and attentive… everything you want from a small restaurant. And of course, great fresh food. I had a great visit and would definitely return. Quenas was a real find.

I always order jalea the first time I go to a Peruvian restaurant. In fact, I chose Peruvian because I had a strong hankering for a heaping pile of fried seafood. This was a stammering disappointment. The calamari rings were inedible — so chewy and flavorless — I chewed and chewed and couldn’t get them down to swallowable proportions. The kitchen snuck a bunch of under-seasoned fried yucca onto my plate to beef up the dish. Lame! Some of the fish and shellfish was fishy — I mean in the way fresh fish is not supposed to be. They deep fried hard shell crab legs. What am I supposed to do with that? The meat inside the shell is dried out to nothing under such high heat. I can’t very well much on the hard shell legs for sustenance. There was a single, lonely shrimp among this mess of its over-fried, under-seasoned and not-so-fresh sea dwelling brethren. The shrimp was pretty tasty. But all alone. I used a Unilocal coupon here. I think we got $ 10 off our bill. With this discount, if applied fully to my plate, I think it cost $ 13. Still not worth it. If I had been expected to pay the full $ 23, I might have had a fit.

So I’ve been here twice more in two weeks when traveling for business. The owner remembers EXACTLY what I’ve had and has twice made super recommendations based upon my palate. I had the mussels appetizer that is out of sight and a couple of the seafood dishes(cooked, not ceviche). Everything is top notch. I’d be here every week if I lived in this area. It gives me great pleasure to spend my money at a place where they work hard to make your experience enjoyable and the quality is so high.

My family and I were looking for a replacement for Chulos, we found Quenas. This is NOT as amazing as we thought it would be. The appetizers were very good and well presented but the service was exceptionally slow. The main dish was average, something that you could make at home in your own kitchen. There was an overwhelming taste of soy sauce in one of the dishes and my husbands food was so bland that salt and ketchup was asked for. Pros: great sangria kuka beer Cons: no tostones and mediocre food Cheers

I decided to try this place because I was recommend from a friend. I ordered take out and got ceviche mixto(my favorite Peruvian dish and I like it spicy) anticuchos and papa rellena. I enjoyed everything I ordered, the ceviche was fresh and spicy just how I like it. The anticuchos were very flavorful and the papa rellena was superb. I would defiantly come back and it’s nice that it local.
