My husband and I were in KY for our one year anniversary and reached out to Emily to go for a ride. There happened to be a hunter pace going on at Shaker Village so we met up with her there. It was the best of both worlds for my husband and me – Im an experienced rider and had a chance to jump the fences on the course and get a good ride in, and my husband had the chance to feel comfortable on a horse and enjoy the amazing weather. Emily and her family, who were at the pace, are wonderful people and riding with her was by far the highlight of our trip to Kentucky. I would highly recommend Big Red to riders of all levels. The horses are so kind and sweet, and they deserve their own five star rating too! Thank you again Emily, we will see you next time!

I went to Big Red Stables in 2011 and have been meaning to write a review ever since. I was in Kentucky by myself doing the Bourbon Trail. I was staying at the Beaumont Inn(which was beyond lovely) and it was a holiday weekend so finding places that were open for riding was impossible. I called BRS and they told me that they were closed but that they were going for a ride just the two of them if I wanted to join(the owners). I absolutely did and it was the best ride I’ve ever been on. You can’t imagine how beautiful the land unless you experience it in person. The owners were so fun and easy to talk to. I’m sure they took it a little easy on the ride for my sake but it was still challenging and wonderful for someone who hadn’t been riding in a years. They clearly care so much about their horses and being a family run business I cannot recommend it highly enough.
