DELICIOUS — my new go-to greek restaurant. I honestly don’t understand why others had a bad experience. We went on a saturday, had to wait a little and brought our LO with us. we had no issues. A great waiter who was friendly, patient and gave great suggestions. The food took a little bit to come out but that’s ok because we were having great conversation and really didn’t notice. i got the gyro(of course) but it was so good. their Tzatziki Sauce had actually pieces of cucumber in it. omg so good. the gyro was slice thin and had a little crisp to it. and of course i ended the meal with baklava cheesecake. DELISH! waters were refilled all night and they were always around if we needed anything.

The food is amazing, literally everything. I’ve basically tried the whole menu. The food always tastes so fresh like homemade food. So many different options for when I want to eat healthy like a country salad and avogolemo soup or when I’m in the mood for a gyro with fries. Its non expensive and BYOB !!!(A huge plus). They have outdoor seating in the summer. Try to come earlier on weekends though because it gets packed and there will be a wait.

I come here frequently and am never disappointed. Very fresh food and made simply, but is so flavorful and delicious. I can’t suggest any 1 thing to have because everything I have had is great. I would like to comment how fresh the seafood is, in the seafood medley. to die for! You will not be disappointed and reasonably priced with a BYOB.

This place’s food is exceptional!!! I wisshhhh I had room for dessert, but truthfully I had half my entrée wrapped to go. Came in on a Fri night, seated immediately. The place is warm and small. It’s byob. For apps we had the grape leaves and meatballs, for entrees, I had the Moussaka and a side Greek salad, and my boyfriend had the trio meat platter. All of it was sooooo good. I can’t wait to come back and try more!

My family and I ate here back in October around my birthday for lunch. It was our first time. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and Meatballs. the calamari was perfect very light crunchy I wasn’t too crazy about the meatballs i thought they were a little dry and bland. The décor was beautiful I was impressed on how they decorated the outside patio. How waiter was very nice and was very informative on the menu selections. My husband enjoyed his gyro with fries and i enjoyed my chicken souvlaki. Maybe i might drop by for new years eve.

Honestly, the food here isn’t bad so I even feel bad writing this… but, they really need to improve their customer service. The first time I came I had quite good service but all the other times not so much. Especially the last time I was here. Our waitress(Christine I believe) took a solid 15 – 20 to come to our table. Meanwhile, she was helping other guests that came in AFTER us. Not only do I know she saw us because she made eye contact, we were in a booth right in the front of the restaurant! She came to us 1 time to take our order then another to give us the check. That. Was. All. Idk if she was discriminating us because we were younger and didn’t think we cared? I honestly have no idea. We weren’t rude or any type of way with her at all. Our 2 bus boys helped us out more than she did. My friend and I were literally dumb founded and still are. We haven’t gone back because of how much of statement she made. Asked for no onions in my Greek salad, got chopped onions. Also, our food took over 45 minutes. I ordered a salad. My friend ordered a gyro. No reason to take that long. I knew it was ready for a while but she just never brought it, the bus boys had to ask us if we had gotten our food. After they asked us we got the food 1 minute later. It was clearly just sitting in the kitchen. We left extremely upset with Sofia’s and it was the first time we both never tipped our waitress but our bus boys instead.

A pleasant surprise near the TEB airport. Great food, service, and the portion size of the gyro platter can easily feed two. I’d definitely dine here again when in the area.

Delicious food! We are take-out regulars here and usually order the chicken platter or souvlaki/pita sandwich. The wait time for take out has improved! Call in the orders and you are good!

I just came back from dinner with my two boys and I have to say after coming here for years(since they opened) I had a very disappointing experience with my waitress and how the owner handled the situation. I ordered the children’s orzo $ 6.50 and the children’s pita pizza $ 4. After one bite of the orzo my son voiced that the orzo was mushy, I tried it, it was indeed mushy(which happens). I told the waitress and she was very rude, I received an attitude and she left it on the table. She didn’t ask if we wanted anything else and walked away. I then had to call her over to order the chicken fingers for my son, since I didn’t specify the kids meal, the chicken fingers and fries came out separately. During this time, a waiter told me my bill was taken care of by a friend of mine that knew I was dining there. At the end of dinner, I asked for a check, they told me it was taken care of by my friend, I then Asked for a receipt. The receipt read the chicken and fries to be $ 9 total and they kept the $ 6.50 orzo on the menu! Now I am not cheap By any means and dine at the most incredible restaurants, and I have always been a fan of Sofia’s food, as a matter of fact we are regulars. When I questioned the waitress about the orzo and the cost of the other food she shrugged her shoulders and told me it’s not up To her. So, I approached the owner, and her response… ready for this? «don’t worry, you didn’t pay, your friend did» what??? That’s not the point!!! And as I told her how it’s the principle of the matter, she handed me $ 5.50! Sorry Sofia thumbs down for customer service. I even told her I order from her establishment several times a month, I will not go back.

Woot woot! Here we go with my hundredth review! I picked Sofia’s because it’s one of my favorite spots in town and I have been here many times. The dine in experience is exceptional! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. It would be a good place to bring a date. The fact that it is Byob is also desirable factor for myself and many others. Had a birthday get together here a while ago and the staff was great! The family who run it are great people. Wait staff is also excellent. Now on to the food! Here are some things I’ve tried in order of what I like the best: 1.Chicken breast over chicken and Orzo 2.Mousaka 3.pastichio 4.hummus 5.chicken gyro 6.gigante beans 7.spanakopita 8.fried calamari 9.stuffed grape leaves 10. lamb burger I’m not going to go into crazy detail about the food because this review would end up being a novel. But just trust me that everything above I have tried and assure you it is delicious! So stop in for dine in and take out you won’t be disappointed!

My girlfriends and I selected Sofia’s as our next monthly dinner spot, and boy was that an excellent decision. It was a Thursday night, and the place was packed(always a good sign). We were seated immediately, handed our menus and our waiter filled us in on the nightly specials. We started with a few appetizers, the grilled calamari, hummus and pita, grape leaves, and the cheese puffs. The grape leaves are out of this world! Hands down one of the best I have ever had! They were the perfect size, perfectly seasoned and the stuffing was not rice based, but I think bread crumb based, served with lemon drizzled over the top. If you’re a fan of grape leaves you have to try these. The grilled calamari was also delicious, nicely seasoned and not chewy, which is sometimes a concern with calamari. The hummus and pita, were clearly homemade and also super delicious. For dinner we all chose something different, I had the mousaka, which, was amazing!!! For those who do not know what that is, it’s a layer of eggplant and potato topped with seasoned ground meat and beschmel sauce, can you say heaven! So delicious! Some other entrees we got were the gyro platter, grilled seafood platter, the skirt steak over Greek salad. Everything was awesome! Huge portions, feta is awesome, byob, friendly staff and inexpensive! Really, you can’t go wrong! Don’t forget the baklava! Enjoy!

I have ordered salmon many times at Sofia’s. This time, I get a significantly smaller piece than usual. As a patron paying over $ 17 for a dish, I expect consistency and a good amount of salmon for the price that i am paying(As you can see in the pictures(good thing I am one to take pictures of my food), the fuller one is the salmon fillet I usually receive, and the other one is the fillet i received today… massive difference, almost half the size!) When I go to speak with the manager, I am told that this is how the salmon usually looks. No, it is not, since I’ve ordered the exact same dish several times and never had to complain about it. Then their answer changes to: «We cut different size salmon fillets, but they are all the same size.» That would make sense if that were true, but, as I mentioned before, I ordered this before and never had this problem. The fillet was the same length as the orders I usually get, but one side was significantly flatter, as if the skin was just left on. All in all, instead of addressing a loyal customer’s concerns, the management met me with disdain, as if I am to blame for their inconsistent portion sizes. The restaurant is not managed well and you would simply be better off dining in the many, well-qualified places in the area.

I had the most amazing zucchini pie. It had a flakey pastry-like crust and a fresh zucchini and cheese filling. It was served with a delicious Greek salad. The quality of the feta cheese was outstanding and the dressing was perfect. As an appetizer I had tzatziki and warm pita bread, which was incredibly delicious and fresh. For dessert I had the baklava cheesecake. I took it home to-go and it was still great. It was a layered cheesecake. Cheesecake was on the very bottom, topped with some sort of nut and caramel like mixture, topped with flakey baklava pastry, and drizzled with raspberry sauce. The service was impeccable! The server was so incredibly attentive and sweet. Fun fact: I was passing by and browsed at the menu. I started to walk away, and a gentleman said«if you like Greek food you have to try it out. I never ate Greek food and now my wife and I order out at least 1 – 2 times a week.» I took his word and walked right in, and I cannot wait to return.

This place is so wonderful. I highly recommmend it. We took our mother here for mother’s day(someone who hates to eat out) and even she loved it, saying how fresh everything was. We made reservations to sit outside and they honored it on time. The setup itself is really cute. BYOB — also a plus. For appetizer, we ordered grilled calamari — delicious. I got the seafood medley combo with shrimp, calamari, and scallops. It was great! Filling, tasty, and perfectly cooked. My mother got the chicken gyro and she really enjoyed it, especially the side of the greek salad. My sister got the greek salad meal and also enjoyed it. Great service, great atmosphere, great food! Love it!

I arrived on Saturday night with a party of 3 at 7:00pm and was pleasantly seated right away with no wait. We were all given waters right away and our waiter greeted himself and read us the specials of the night. So we ordered. Falafel– $ 6.95 Nice, crispy but small. Hummus– $ 5.00 Very flavorful and accompanied the crispy pita perfectly. Chicken Kabob– $ 13.50 Average chicken and fries, not the best or worst Red Snapper– $ 30.00 Highlight of the meal, we couldn’t stop talking about it, it was delicious! It was huge, super flavorful, moist and had that nice grill taste, and squeezing the lemon on top, put it over the top, worth every penny! Baklava– $ 4.50 Surprisingly very good, not to sweet just perfect. Vanilla Ice Cream– $ 4.00 I think this was homemade because it didn’t taste like your regular store bought, it was nice and delicate. Service was great also, table was always clean, we got what we asked for and could’nt have been happier. For 2 sodas, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 dessert for $ 74(without tip) for 3 adults, this was an amazing deal! Shout out to Christine G for recommending this place to me!

I liked this restaurant at first sight. Nice cozy decoration made me feel very comfortable to start with. We had tough time to look for a parking in the street. Already crowded when we got there around 6pm. Service was quick and efficient. We ordered fried meatballs, lentil soup, hummus for appetizer. For Main course we ordered gyro platter and lamb chops. Meatballs were well seasoned, delicious. Hummus was served with fried pita, it added great warmth and texture. I liked my lamb chops but my husband didn’t like his gyro platter. Because his french fries were soggy and wasn’t crispy. We had baklava cheesecake. It was great. It’s BYOB here and has decent Mediterranean cuisine with very comfortable atmosphere. Just little bit difficulty parking and the soggy fries. But decent service and delicious food was plus.
