Hastings Velo

I’ve been going to hastings velo for years. Stan and Bob are the best in the business. They are very professional, helpful and very knowledgeable. Excellent customer service. I would recommend to any one who is interested in buying their first bicycle or to anyone who already has a bicycle.

I bought my bike from Hastings velo on the recommendation of a friend and the good reviews. I had been shopping around for a new bike for a while and I found a perfect fit for my riding needs here. They also helped find a good beginning bike for my wife. The manager on duty (who’s name is escaping me at the moment) was great, patient, attentive. He gave some advice but didn’t push and really spent time with each of us.
On top of my great purchase experience I brought my bike in for its first tune up. They offer a discount on tuneup for customers who purchased their bike there but Bob (the mechanic) felt that i didn’t need that much work and didn’t charge me for adjusting the breaks, cleaning up the chain and gears,?tightening the handlebar wrap, and he even adjusted my child seat rack so that it won’t be as close to the seat (which I didn’t even ask him to do!). I truly felt like a valued customer and plan on doing as much of my bicycle business there as possible and I will highly recommend this shop to friends and family and others.

Hastings Velo saved my bacon this weekend… riding Upstate managed several flats just getting out of the city and through Yonkers. Without some fresh tubes and another patch kit from this perfectly located shop I would have had to turn around.

Great, friendly service. I took my bike in for a standard tune-​up and they gave it back good as new. I’ve never had such a great tune-​up before. Highly recommended.

I could have sworn that I wrote a previous review on this page but it is gone. That is OK since it is often worthwhile to make a few visits before penning your thoughts. My buddy Fred and I discovered this shop quite by accident one day, but we are glad we did. I ended up purchasing my Indie Fab XS here last January and have been thrilled with the bicycle and the service. Hastings Velo provides everything that one could ask for in an independent bike shop — great advice, a wide range of merchandise, fun events and great service. Not only is Stan, the manager, connected to the local biking community and offers biweekly rides, but his team participates in many of the local, and not so local races and rides. We even joined him on a trip to Tuscany this spring run by Peter Easton of Velo Classic Tours which proved to be one of the high points of my traveling life. Bob, who is the master mechanic, has kept my bicycles in top shape and is usually able to make minor repairs on the spot which is greatly appreciated. Visiting the shop is as much a social event as it is a retail experience.

I decided to do a century with Team in Training. Hastings Velo is a local sponsor, so I thought it was time to buy a new bike and I would check them out. Well, they have fantastic bikes, knowledgeable people and omg are they great. My new bike fits great, my shoes fit great, my gear fits great, and I’m excited to get back on a bike after about 15 years! Thanks, guys!!!
