Having grown up in Hatboro, Burdick’s has always been there. When I was young, I would toddle in for candy and a REAL vanilla Coke. These days, I like to take my own little man to the Soda Fountain for ice cream. I like that I can still get an old fashioned egg cream. As I don’t smoke and thankfully don’t indulge in candy anymore I can only comment on the Soda Fountain service. Good ice cream, great Italian sodas if you enjoy more natural and not overly sweetened drinks.

This place is charming and old-fashioned in a totally authentic way. My husband and I like to come here in the spring and summer especially. They have a genuine old soda fountain and a lot of different soda favors, from Coke and strawberry to less common options like chocolate soda. They also offer an array of ice creams and malted shakes. There’s no place around here quite like it! As a bonus, the store is always quiet and you can always get a seat at the counter.

As Stella H noted, Burdick’s is quaint and offers a decent selection of magazines. Where Burdick fails is in its soda fountain operations. Burdick’s shakes are overly sweet and undrinkable, as far as I am concerned. If you are craving a shake, skip Burdick’s and go to Sonic.

Cigar selections and a knowledgeable clerk are essential for a successful cigar business. This store lacks both. Overpriced cigars… You can always spend your hard-earned dollars elsewhere like Holt’s which has the best selections in the country.

This place is like a throw back in time! It’s got the old wood floors, the old wood shelves to display their items and even an old time soda fountain that I’m not sure works but sure looks cool. This is a nifty place for smokers, between the cigars, pipes, pipe tobacco and yes, those nasty cig’s I gave up long ago! That said, if you are a smoker, there’s lots to choose from here. They also have a great selection of magazines, some greeting cards, snacks, candy, soda, newspapers, lottery tickets, etc… you get the idea.
