Really high quality fish and excellent presentation. There is a happy hour from 2 – 6 pm, I think where things are BOGO. Next time we’ll hurry up out the door to enjoy an early dinner and save some money!

I no longer live in Hattiesburg, but when I do come back to visit, I often come here. I’m a fan of this place. I like the sushi because the ratio of fish/filling to rice is always significantly more than 1:1(although I wish they’d put more rice vinegar in the rice), so I really feel like I’m getting a deal. I always order their Alaskan roll, they do it with big chunks of raw salmon here — not smoked salmon, and their eel roll, a sweet, grilled unagi and avocado. It’s also got a nice teriyaki drizzle which is always a plus for people who appreciate simple sauces on their sushi every now and then. When I’m not getting sushi, I almost always get their Malaysian chicken bento box. It comes with four or five California rolls, a soup(I choose miso –a bit watery though– or hot and sour soup-kinda gloopy). Their soups are just mediocre. The Chicken is cooked in a salty and sweet sauce with mushrooms, green peppers, and lots of crunchy onions. I usually hate rawish onions, but with the way they cook theirs, you can barely taste the spicy raw flavor. It’s really good! The owner is also a really nice guy. Great service.

Really good sushi, especially for Hattiesburg. Ate here while traveling for business. Really good salmon sashimi and specialty roles. Also have real crabmeat which makes huge difference on rolls. Highly recommend although the exterior is not impressive.

Edo is fairly priced and consistently good food. Try the sesame chicken, especially the lunch special. The sushi is as good as advertised. The only negative is service isn’t always the best, when the owner isn’t there, but the quality and amount of food that you get still makes this 5 stars for me.

I had the Sashimi Trio and Spicy Tuna Roll, both dishes were great for being this far inland. I live on the coast and would put this place up against any place with easier access to fresh fish any day! It’s a great price for a great meal in a family friendly cozy environment. They have tables, booths, and a sushi bar. Options abound!

My boyfriend and I came here a few days ago wanting to try a new restaurant. The service basically sucked. I’m a server myself so how you treat your guests is a big deal to me. I don’t know if there was a language barrier or what the deal was, but I did not feel welcome at all. It didn’t seem like she wanted to serve us. She didn’t smile, tell us her name, ask us if we needed anything. Just brought our drinks and food. We had to ask for plates, napkins, and sauces. The food was okay. Nothing special. We ordered the calamari, and it was disappointing. Not much flavor and it reminded me of fish sticks. The best roll we had was the angry crab roll. The only great thing I can even say about this place is they have a sushi happy hour, buy one get one free. Probably won’t return. Waste of $ 50.

After trying sushi at a few places in the area, Edo is definitely the best one around. Ingredients are fresh and presented beautifully. I will argue their hot and sour soup is the tastiest I’ve ever had. If you like spicy, the sweetheart roll and the fancy roll are amazing. All in all, the quality and flavor at Edo is comparable to my favorite places back home in CA.

Best place for sushi in Hattiesburg! Excellent selection and high quality fish. Prices are better than most sushi places in town. Waitstaff are very friendly and prompt. Restaurant is always very clean. I’m not a big fan of all the tv’s as I find them distracting, but that’s my only complaint.

I’ve been to my share of sushi places and this Edo sushi is hands down, without a doubt, the best place I’ve been. Whenever I go eat sushi I am comparing it to Edo, and it never reaches that level of greatness. Considering the quality of the fish and food, the price is very reasonable, their fish is top notch. The sushi artists take time with your sushi and make it look very nice. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. The décor, even though to me it’s somewhat irrelevant to my eating experience, is very nice. The bathrooms are very clean and rather stylish. Go here. If you don’t like it, I’ll let you beat me with a stick.

Excellent sushi in Hattieburg — First off, our waitress couldnt understand a thing we were saying so the owner took over for her and went above and beyond. The Fantastic Tuna Roll is unique and awesome(a must try) Will definately be back here

Second review! We finally tried their Chinese dish(seafood delight) and is quite authentic. People in H’burg are adapted to low-quality Chinese buffets(nasty food to mediocre food), so they may not understand the price and portion at Edo. Sushi is about 8 pieces per roll, and the quality is over quantity like other subpar sushi places. Still the best Pan-Asian restaurant in H’burg!

Whoever doesn’t give this place 5 stars is on crack. The sushi chef Danny, is from New York. He’s very skilled with his recipe’s and very friendly! The only reason this place doesn’t get the business it deserves is because it’s a drive to go to Oak Grove. I usually get the sweetheart roll or the amazing tuna. Everything on the menu is delicious. I love this place so much that I will come alone and just eat alone in the corner. I’ve been to absolutely EVERY sushi restaurant in this town, and Edo is by far the best. You might spend about 15% more than you would anywhere else, BUTITISSOOOWORTHIT! Happy Hour is everyday 2 – 6. buy one sushi roll, get the other half off!!!

Some of the best tasting and most exotically-plated sushi I have ever had. The service is incredible and the food is delicious. Most sushi places in Hattiesburg have different variations of the same thing, while Edo Sushi has a ride range of special rolls that you can’t find anywhere else in town. The only thing negative to say about this place is the drive from campus, but it is well worth it. I wish this place the best of luck.

So I believe this is a relativly new business, not sure when they opened. The start of our lunch was great, however we were quickly forgotten. As our meal progressed our waiter went MIA and a waitress did refill our drinks… once. The food was good and the price is ok too(about average per meal) As we paid our waiter showed back up did apologize for the service indicated they had a problem he ws taking care of and told us the service is generally really good. So because the food was good and he seemed genuine I will try there again and promise to update this review.
