This place is cute but not for the Manhattan set. Its in a strip mall and you really want to go there after a couple of drinky poos. If you are looking for karaōke — that is the right time to go. The bar staff is sweet but very honey badger. The guy that runs the karaōke is nice too but will not do what you say. Enjoy!

RECOMMENDED Today on 4÷1÷16 I had a couple of hours to kill before litigating a 2:00 p.m. hearing at the Workers’ Compensation Board in Hauppauge. I had previously noticed some good reviews posted by other Unilocalers on this place so I decided to take a short drive down Vets Highway. Grafton Street Pub is in a small Walbaums strip shopping center. Upon entry I notice more of a dark bar than restaurant. The female bartender, in a very disinterested tone, directs me to sit wherever I want but, after I sit at a table for four because the place is empty, the female waitress more sensibly suggests a smaller table. I comply, order a nicely sized Sam Adams Cold Snap($ 7.00), peruse the menu briefly and order. The Beer arrives cold, flavorful and with a nice head. I select the Grafton Burger. The 12 ounce(!) gargantuan monster is only $ 10(!!) The Burger, topped with Grilled Onions, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and my choice of cheese(Cheddar), is a minerally, tasty and very satisfying specimen of Sirloin, an absolutely great pub burger. It also arrives medium as I requested which, to me, is a very big deal. The French Fries which accompany the Burger are called«Irish Chips». No need to puff them up with that title. The Fries are fresh tasting, not greasy, cut and cooked perfectly and delicious. My check arrives with a mistake(charged for two beers) but the nice waitress rectifies it immediately. I had a very nice lunch here and would definitely return.

I have been coming to Grafton’s with friends and family for years. I always feel extremely comfortable every time I enter. The whole entire staff is not only friendly, but also fun and knowledgeable. They’re always making connections with guests while simultaneously taking on the orders of other customers. Even if I’m having a bad day, I could always leave it up to one of them to flip my mood around. The food is amazing, everything is made fresh. The wings are literally the best I’ve ever had, even my cousin who’s huge into wings said they’re amazing. Their happy hour includes half off appetizers! I have never had a dish here that I was not satisfied with. The bartenders make an actual drink, not most places who just put in a drop of vodka. They also offer twofers for happy hour from 2pm — 8pm(Monday — Friday) Do not pay attention to these negative reviews, I guarantee you’ll have a wonderful experience each and every time.

This seems like a great spot to stop in for a pint and a bite to eat. I had the fried shrimp and chips. It was as good as fried shrimp and chips can get. The service was great, the atmosphere was inviting, and the beers were cold. I’d come back if I was in the area again!

My go to spot for a good drink and a great time. The buffalo chicken wrap is addicting and made the best by Jaime!!!

Food was great, drinks were strong, but the service was hilariously bad. Took 25 minutes to serve a grilled chicken salad, there was only one bartender and she was sitting at the bar texting & smiling to herself the whole time.

Didn’t look like much from the outside, but inside it had friendly bartenders, good pulls of Guinness and really exceptional food. My friend and I had the Finnegan’s Wake sandwich with home-made corned beef and it was excellent. Had probably the best pasta salad I’d ever tasted, too. We were just there for lunch, but I’d definitely go back to see what else is on the menu.

Traveling through for work, got happy our wings and salad. ½ price apps, was a great deal. Atmosphere was great, staff friendly, defiantly a local joint. Rest of the food I saw other get looked good, regular to above average pub food. Wings were decent, not bad, not amazing. Good spot to grab a drink and some pub food if that’s what you are looking for.

Grafton’s is like Cheers with an Irish twist. It’s a warm and inviting place where you can enjoy a delicious meal(lunch or dinner), a well-made drink, and hear an Irish brogue or two. Every time I go there, I’m already thinking about what menu item I’m going to try the next time. I’ve never hung out at night for the bar scene, but I’m looking forward to giving it a try.

Review for Friday — 3÷8÷2014 — Karaōke Night I fancy myself a connoisseur of hole-in-the-wall pubs. You know the type, hard-wood floors that haven’t been sanded or sealed in 30 years, the faint smell of mildew-mixed with slightly leaky adult diapers and replete with 50+ year old women who were at one point attractive, but have long since kissed their looks and dignity goodbye. Yes, I love those bars. I’d be the Willy Wonka of those bars, handing out edible, if slightly listeria-laced beer mug shaped flowers and my men’s room would have a pee-trough with a running chocolate waterfall… Anyway, Grafton Street Pub is neither a whole-in-the-wall, nor is it the Wonka factory of bars. It’s ‘twilight,’ walking the line between local dive and a trendy ‘must-go’. It’s sits at the extreme left flank of a shopping center, far away from any residential areas. The pub is long and bottle-necked due to the tables which line the East wall. The bar runs along the west wall and runs 2⁄3 the length of the floor plan, which provides a comfortable area to congregate. Unfortunately, the arrangement of the tables is such that if the bar is two deep, the congestion makes moving around very difficult. There are multiple flat screens over the bar and above the seating area tuned to various sports channels and, of course, the obligatory Quick Draw Lotto station. My opening salvo was a pint of the old ‘Liffey Water’ as well as a Heineken, a Coors Lite and a Sprite for my party. The bill came to $ 20.50. I dropped $ 25 on the bar and moved to my seat, trying desperately to figure out the gorilla math involved in pricing a Guinness, Heineken and Coors lite to $ 18. My assumption is the soda was a ridiculously overprice $ 2.50, the Guinness was 7, the Heineken 6 and the Coors Lite 5. Seemed a bit steep to me for a Suffolk County pub, but whatever. I returned several times to replenish mine and my compatriot’s beers only to be charged differing prices each time. Once it was $ 18, another was $ 20. As the bar was packed and we weren’t sitting at the bar, I wasn’t going to leave a pile of money on the bar and I tipped at each purchase, leaving around $ 10 over the course of 3 rounds. To my chagrin, I didn’t see a single buy-back the entire night. To make matters worse, with two bartenders and a waitress(who spent most of the night behind the bar), I should never have been waiting longer than 5 minutes to get an order filled. Terrible bartending. On the positive side, the Karaōke DJ is awesome. I have known Joey for some time, but this establishment — not constrained by residential noise statues — really had some life. The singers, both good and bad were all entertaining and the crowd was appreciative regardless of the skill with which the singer performed. Overall, I’d give Grafton a 3, based mostly on the awesome Karaōke. It was a fun night, but I attribute most of it to my friends and the entertainment.

Every once in a while you walk into a bar and say«Woah, what the hell am I doing here?» This didn’t happen to me. I actually felt like I walked into a comfortable place that I had been to plenty of times. Slightly crowded with an older crowd enjoying the end of their dinner and the beginning of a great karaōke show. But shortly after most of them dispersed and we were left with the hard core karaokers(Yes karaokers, deal with it) complete with some real characters singing(think sequins and dancing and gyrating down to the floor while singing show tunes). The KJ, DJ Joey is fantastic. He has a great personality, a great sound system and tons of generosity as he displayed as he handed out«loaded gummy worms» to all who came in to enjoy the night and celebrate his birthday. Why the 3 stars you ask? Well for one, the bartender. She was so nasty that it turned my good time for a short period of time. I asked her for a lime instead of lemon for my Corona and this insulted her in some way apparently because I received a look that would have killed me twice. The other star loss is for the bathroom. Yuck. I’m hoping that it isn’t an every night thing but yeah, bad night for the bathroom. All in all, would I come again? If I had a designated driver as I did tonight, sure, why not!

Pub Grafton street pub is probably the easiest place on earth to overlook as it is tucked into a corner of a small shopping center on a main road. The place is good sized — it was larger inside than I thought it would be at first glance. The bar is long and there are a lot of stools there. Tables along the length of the place make up the rest of the seating. Food was decent — as were drinks. Bartender was a little pokey– she seemed easily confused and overwhelmed even though it was not that crazy in there. Nice people at the bar– overall a solid spot to grab a cocktail and something to eat. Give it a shot. Parking in front.

Nice bar, good people and good prices. Nothing about this place is a «must go» and certainly nothing makes you avoid it. It’s just a good place to start/end drinks with friends(great pizza joint few stores down)

Came here for lunch. Good food, good atmosphere in this small bar on the end of a strip mall. Fish & chips delicious and very well priced at around $ 8. Shepherd’s pie was all right. All the food seemed very reasonably priced, and the menu had a good variety. Drinks were a bit overpriced… $ 7 for a beer? Please. Looks like they have karaōke some nights, and a nice long happy hour. Wouldn’t mind going back and checking it out again.
