One of the best planes for breakfast anywhere… If you have an opportunity to eat here — don’t miss it!!! Steve and his crew could not be nicer — and the food is fantastic!

Well it’s been at least 10years since I have been in here! The breakfast was average and when I was done I noticed a sign that said(no credit cards, no checks, no debit CASHONLY) well I explained to my waitress that I had no cash on me and that I would have to go to the bank!(mind you it is 2016 people!) so she said N. P and I got up and headed for the door when I heard the owner /cook say(Call the cops he is not coming back?) really a person make a honest mistake and that is the first thing you think of and say it out loud! Well I did pay and he did get one thing right I won’t be back ! If that is the way they want to think of people/customers that make an honest mistake! Should of went to Raff’s café

The pancakes are huge. I love them, love to eat big meals and I can barely eat 2 of them. They have a trivia question of the day that’s fun. Its just a great diner. Go to any other breakfast place(except maybe A1 deli) and you’ll be disappointed

Mark’s Deli is neither Mark’s, nor a deli. Discuss amongst yourselves. First, Mark’s is really a small, family-run diner. It has decent diner food. It did not blow my mind in terms of diner food, but it’s certainly not bad. If you live in Haverhill or find yourself in Haverhill for whatever reason, this is a solid option if you’re in the mood for diner food. However, travelling to Haverhill just to go to Marks’ seems like a stretch. Breakfast and lunch only, though. They generally close at 2 pm. And it’s cash only. Second, Mark’s Deli is not Mark’s anymore. A merchant marine from Greece named Tony bought the place from Mark some 40-odd years ago. If you grab one of the menu-looking things on one of the tables, you can read the nice story of a hard-working immigrant who came to the U.S. with virtually nothing and managed to build a successful business and bring his family over to the states after years of hard work. Apparently, he opted to keep the name Mark’s from the prior owner. The place had been in business since roughly the 1930s and why mess with a good thing by changing the name? Tony still shows up at the place from what I hear, but he’s basically retired now. His family owns and runs the place now. Which is why I kind of like the place. It’s basically a Haverhill institution that’s been going for 80+ years. It has a friendly, family-run vibe. It’s nothing fancy — it is just a small diner. The quarters are a little close and cozy. It can get a little busy and crowded at times. But that is part of its charm. Haverhill is an interesting town with a diverse mix of a lot of things, including older, traditionally blue collar elements and newer, more white collar elements. Mark’s definitely fits into the older, blue collar tradition of Haverhill. But it’s the kind of place anyone from any background and any walk of life can enjoy. It makes for a great stop along the revitalized Washington street stretch. Good spot for families if you catch it when it’s not too crowded.

Went there for lunch… right off the bat, not a deli in any classic sense. It’s a straight-up diner with a standard diner menu and atmosphere(not a bad thing). I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was good enough to order again. The service was friendly and efficient. I’d go there again to check out the other menu items if I had no better options… Important to note that it’s only opened until 2PM.

I went here on Saturday for breakfast before the River Ruckus, and I was really impressed. The wait staff and the owner was really nice! The portion sizes were amazing compared to what your actually getting! The home-fries were a little on the soft side for my personal taste, but it just means I’ll ask for them to be a little more well done next time! I highly recommend checking out this little place. I’ll definitely be back to try it for lunch sometime.

Good solid basic breakfast. The best part of it is the conversation! It’s cash only. The reviews for lunch are good. I definitely want to try that.

Plain and simple breakfast, good. Cash only and tight quarters but friendly staff and an overall solid breakfast.

As far as Haverhill goes, this spot is okay for breakfast. Only Raff’s is better but by no mean’s is Mark’s a place to hit up if you’re looking for a fantastic breakfast. The sausage is odd and the home fries lacking. Shawsheen Lunchonette in Andover is worth the drive from Haverhill for sure but if you need to stay in town try Raff’s first. pass

Last week we were hit with a BLIZZARD! I was starving and ventured out to downtown Haverhill. The only place open was Marks Deli and what a treat that was, delicious! The waitstaff was so nice and accommodating! I had the turkey club and my Fiancée had the Greek Salad wrap on homemade pita. Mine was quality a and came with French fries. Joes looked amazing and he at it all and told me he would come back again just for that! Even better the total was under $ 20… Can’t ask for a better meal! Will definitely go back!!!

This place serves up an excellent breakfast. Pancakes the size of manhole covers, unbelievable french toast, friendly service. It’s fun to sit at the counter and listen to the servers/cooks talk to the customers. Cash only is kind of a bummer.

great vibe and good local diner. Nothing like walking into a place a catching the conversation of the workers and diners… friendly people taking about local stuff. Certainly learned a lot about Haverhill over the course of our lunch(through eavesdropping, of course)! Our sandwiches were inexpensive, filed with fresh ingredients and tasty. I had the chicken tips grinder, my partner had steak tips in a pita. Right next to the train station, too. A great place in a mill town slowly emerging from its industrial shell.

I enjoy this place. The fact that I live a minute from here is excellent. This place is small and is often busy so you may have to wait. I have only been here for breakfast(served all day) but the lunch smells delicious. I LOVE the pancakes. Very big and thick. The h/f’s are excellent. Meats are precooked so the food comes out fast. Service is always friendly, good coffee and cheap. Would give 3.5 but precooked meats… meh
