This was my first Rita’s that I ever visited. My cousin took me here on a hot summer day and he ordered me a Misto since I’ve never had one before, which is Italian Ice mixed with Custard. It was so memorable, like a creamy ICEE. It made me a instant fan of Rita’s and I’ve been long hoping for a Rita’s to open up near me and my prayers have been answered, though it’s still a 25 min drive away. Well, at least I don’t need a plane ticket anymore to get a Misto.

love ritas! They are constantly coming with new flavors some of them totally off the wall(butterscotch krimpet waterice!) but MOST of them are delicious. The most recent addition i’ve tried is the strawberry starbust flavor which was PHENOMENAL. This particular location has a little seating area next to it which is nice and the staff are efficient and pleasant. I have never had a problem. They always have the basic flavors in stock with a few of the more unique ones.

What a great discovery! I had the vanilla frozen yoghurt topped with oreo’s(small indulgence). This frozen yoghurt had a great creamy texture and vanilla flavor.

A great treat on a hot day! Nothing better than a Wooder ice and a soft pretzel! Tons of flavors! Sweedish fish flavor is awesome.

This location is very convenient on Eagle Road — parking is usually ample and the line is never insanely long. But this location just doesn’t seem to offer the variety of flavors that other Rita’s locations do. I wish they would offer coffee water ice instead of the coffee custard — I know it’s available at other locations. Perhaps they don’t get the volume that other locations do, but I still prefer Rita’s over Pops.

Water ice in February! These crazy folks opened last weekend and there was a line across the parking lot. That gives you an idea of how much Philadelphians like their water ice. Can you get better water ice in South Philly; yup. However nobody dominates the market like Rita’s. In the burbs they are everywhere. Actually there are over 500 of them. They are every man’s, or women’s, water ice. Over the years there product line has expanded a bit and the number of flavors has also increased. If I’m not in South Philly these folks do the job for me. This particular one does a nice job. My daughter got her first job here. That was years ago but the management pounded cleanliness and customer service into her and that’s a very good thing!
