I’ve been here a couple times the last year or so. Food is ok – salty at times, heavy at others. They just couldn’t get it right on any trip. I just stopped coming. Looks like I’m not alone. They are closed now.

We were going to dinner after seeing a dentist in Havre De Grace and I remembered a $ 25 for $ 50 certificate I had in my glove box. It was from 2011 but didn’t have an expiration date. We showed the waitress as we sat down; she said she would take it off at the end. My wife had chicken Marsala and I had the Mannicoti because I wanted homemade pasta and this was one they made in house. The Marsala was good; my Mannicoti was pretty bad and the homemade past was horrible. We also had clams as an appetizer; unfortunately they were tough and chewy. We decided we didn’t want any desert and we’re ready to check out. The waitress took our certificate and went to deduct the amount. She came back after awhile saying it was not valid anymore saying that we used it. I informed her that we had not used it and that there was no expiration date. She said she would call her manager and see what she could do. She once again came back saying that she was sorry but that she could not take the certificate. She also said that they don’t do $ 25 certificates anymore and now only do $ 15 ones. I told her that the $ 25 cert. should still be good as it was not used and there wasn’t an expiration date. She said that the fault was with not chiapparelli’s? She apoligized offering to give us the managers phone number and proceeded to give us our $ 62 check along with a 20% discount to be used on our next visit; like that is ever going to happen now! We left giving our 20% discount to another couple on the way out! Fair warning my friends; this Resteraunt has gone down hill and would not be surprised if it closes within the next 12-months! You don’t keep business that way! They could have and should have honored the certificate and they could have taken it up with ; that would have been the right thing to do! One last though; I was in the bathroom and noticed a picture on the wall from the 50’s or 60’s. There was three guys on the porch of a chiapparelli’s brothers resteraunt; all I could think about was how disappointed they would be to see how this Resteraunt was being run! Keith Wagner

Last night we had a party of 6, everything was ready for us when we arrived, our server was on the ball and we never wanted for anything. I had Chicken Parm and it was great, 1st time in Havre de Grace, many many times in Baltimore. Will be back on 20 miles from my home in PA. Plenty of Free Parking. thanks again.

I was very skeptical about my visit as the reviews aren’t very good. But I had a Groupon that needed to be used before July do I decided on a family dinner. The bread sticks were ok. Nothing spectacular. We did like the Fries Ravioli, but the portion size was pretty small(just 4 small ravioli). The marinara sauce was tasty and fresh. For our entrees, we enjoyed the chicken parmesan and shrimp and crab luigi. Which was a rose colored Alfredo sauce. My husband liked his Parmesan but I wasn’t able to taste it because he was feeling under the weather and I didn’t want his cooties. I should’ve tasted it before he got to it. On to my entrée. I thought my Alfredo was tasty. The shrimp were nice and plump but I didn’t think there was much crab in there. Our waiter Tony was pleasant and attentive. I think their price points are a bit high… Even after a 50 groupon discount we spent 40. Which included a 18 percent gratuity that they added in(I don’t like that and it worked to his disadvantage because he was going to get more). Anyway, i won’t be rushing back but wouldn’t be against visiting again.

Wondered why we were only people in restaurant. Our two kid meals were«as small as an ant“and they were $ 6.00. I will never understand why a restaurant skimps so much on pasta of all things — especially an Italian one! Good salad. Service awful. Won’t give kids milk. Calamari awful.

The waitstaff was ignorant of the menu, and had to continually go ask questions. The caprice salad had sub par mozzarella, the bread had seasoning on top but was flavorless and dough like as though it was not cooked properly. The main entrée was nothing special. The cooks were sloppy and had mixed linguini noodles in with the spaghetti noodles. None of the silverware matched all different patterns and sizes. My husband switched soda types and we got charged an extra $ 2.90 for a soda. The soda came so flat we could not tell the difference between water and soda. The desert, crème brûlée was ok. All in all… other than the company we were with it was with, definitely not worth the money even with the use of a groupon discount.

I tried the place out on a whim one day a few months ago, taking lunch to a friend of mine as a surprise since she owns a business down the street. I ordered the lobster ravioli… it was VERY small ravioli that was mostly pasta and very very *VERY* little filling — WAY below par in taste and WAY too expensive for what you get. To top it off, you order to go at the bar. The last thing I want is Fox news(or CNN or any other news station) blaring in my face — and that is exactly what was on the large screen TV. I don’t need to bartender or the owners political preference shoved down my throat. Needless to say, not impressed and not amused. Never again.

Cannot say enough good things about chips. Haven’t had italian like this since I left NY. Waitress treated us like long lost friends. Food so good I almost wanted to weep. Desserts made on site. If you want the real deal and not some trendy eatery you have to try this warm, old school, family owned treasure.

This is definitely one of the better restaurants in Little Italy. They have the best salad out of any restaurant in Little Italy and the menu here pretty much will satisfy any craving. The staff is always good, and the atmosphere here is pretty nice. It is a little pricey, considering you can get the same quality food at other places for a bit lower price, but all in all you can’t go wrong here. Very good Veal Parm!

The only reason why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2 is because the ambieance and staff were really great. The food was blah. To start, the amazing salad that everyone is talking about was just salad with too much dressing throughout. It wasn’t bad… but it was JUST salad. The bread was some cold stale bread that I could have picked up from the grocery store. Not even warmed. The olive oil also wasn’t stellar either… I expected better olive oil from an Italian place. Now for the meals… I started with a Dark and Stormy drink. It’s basically ginger beer and rum. The beer was flat and basically tasted like they gave me a shot of rum in a glass of water. I had the Tortellini with alfredo sauce. The tortellini tasted like it was previously frozen and they took it out of the marie calenders box and threw it in a pot. Ever seen the Griswolds European Vacation movie. They go to a Paris restaurant and the cook is in the back taking TV dinners out of the box and microwaving it… pretty sure that’s what they did last night! The tortellini was cooked to the point of being soggy and tasteless. The alfredo sauce was meh… but still required a ton of salt to really even be edible. The tortellini also had some spots there were burned on the actual pasta… so obviously they overcooked it. The tiramisu was really good. One of the better ones I’ve had. I can not support a rating any higher than a 3 because of the bland tasteless food. I can cook a much better meal at my house… and I think I will next time. I went with 5 other women and nobody was really impressed. Only 2 people took leftovers home. And only 3 people ordered dessert(we almost always order dessert). There was never an exclaimation indicating an excellent dish. We had Issac serve us… and he was STELLAR. He is probably the only reason why I gave this place a 3 star.

Stopped here because only place open on Monday … should have driven elsewhere. Our waiter was very nice but was new so didn’t know what he was doing so the restaurant should have given him help, especially since it was dead in there. I ordered a Stoli-sour … 15 mins he comes back asking what’s in a Stoli-sour … when the drink came… wrong! … stale bread came eventually. Salad was finally delivered along with our main course … timing, people! … my pasta was bland and the shrimp seamed boiled, not sauteed … no seasoning, tasted like plain white sauce. Asked to split the bill 50 – 50 and it took 3 tries to get that right … like I said waiter was very nice but slow night and slow service and bland food = not going there again.

Tonight I had the opportunity to take my family out for dinner and they wanted to try Chiapparelli’s. Super nice liking place, good parking and a warm atmosphere. Service was top notch. The meal was neither bad nor very good. In my opinion this could be fixed easily with the addition of spices and also it would not hurt to work on the presentation. The food was good, but BLAND, oh so bland. Presentation wise the dish was visually… bland. No effort at all in this area. For the price… really not an equitable deal,

I love this place. They have great fresh food and good sangria. They don’t always have it but if they have the crab bisque when you’re there totally get it! The lasagna is fantastic! I always go with my family and we split dishes and its great. They make great red and white sangria. The calamari fritti is fresh too. On Monday and Tuesday they have a special 10 entrees for $ 10 menu and its some of their best dishes.

I came here with my husband since we purchased a groupon. We enjoy the Italian restaurant near our house, but thought that we can give a new place in Havre de Grace a try. From my experience, I honestly don’t understand the good reviews. We first started with the bruschetta which was quite bland. For the main course I ordered the gnocchi in meat sauce. The gnocchi tasted like they were not home made and the sauce was super watery. My husband’s cheese & spinach ravioli was much better but nothing to dream about. The salad and breadsticks that they gave us were also off. The salad was generic, and my husband could not stand to finish his portion. The breadsticks were reminiscent of Olive Tree or Olive Garden. We also ordered Tiramisu which tasted like it was store bought or defrosted from a freezer. Overall, not a good deal.

I’m a typical New Yorker when it comes to choosing a restaurant and rating them. So when I went to Maryland for the weekend to visit a few friends… I was extremely impressed with the food and service in this place. My friend threw a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend. So, we have our own small party room. There were only about 25 people there with a fixed menu. The fixed menu had great variety from pasta with no meat to chicken, shrimp, and beef. The food was DELICIOUS(i had the Shrimp Primavera) and the desserts were awesome(tiramisu). I definitely have to give it to the service. The restaurant was packed(of course on a Saturday night) but they kept our glasses filled and the waitress always checked on us. My favorite part would have to be that the party room had it’s own bathroom… so we didn’t have to go downstairs and wait on line. I recommend this place for couples, parties, get-togethers with friends. If you’re in the area… check this place out!!!

Great food and service, nice décor and moderately priced. A good italian place in a seafood town. I didn’t hear a lot of buzz about this place in Havre De Grace. I was told to go to the one in Little Italy but I wasn’t sure about this location. We were also told it wasn’t anything special by some friends so we were hesitant. We were not disappointed we went. The inside décor is really really nice. The set up looked really good and it just had that Italian restaurant feel. We were seated by a window, which doesn’t really offer a view but since it isn’t anywhere near the water front, it really didn’t matter. They started off by giving us bread, which was really fresh and warm, and their famous Chip’s salad. The salad was very tasty. The server was very attentive and everything came out in perfect time. Next we got some apps. My wife and I ordered the calamari, which came out in generous portion with really good dipping sauce. The breading on the calamari was the best tasting part. It was light and flaky and had great flavor. I ordered the seafood ravioli which was filled with scallops shrimp and crab and topped with a creamy tomato sauce. Man were they good. They give you 5 plump large ravioli and you can tell they’re homemade. I went with a group of four and the rest of the table loved their food as well. We got a variety of different style dishes and each one was excellent. There is parking on the side of the building, some along the actual building and then overflow parking in a lot across the street. It also differs from the location in Little Italy in that it is Casual dress, and you can wear jeans, etc. I can’t wait to go back. I think this place will become my go to Italian restaurant in this area.
