Mia M. Chun, DDS

Dr. Chun is a very nice dentist. I like all the dental assistants that have done prophylaxis/​exam for me each time I came. The other dentists are nice as well but my personal favorite is Dr. Chun.

This office employs a bunch of con artists. When I came to this «dental office» at check-​in they commented that I have not used any of my dental insurance allotment for the year. Then low and behold they come up with a random unnecessary procedure that needs to be done. (Think of that dirtbag mechanic that scams people who don’t know anything about cars) I am 33 years old and have never had a cavity in my life. But just so that they could get money out of my insurance company they tried to sell me the most ridiculous line of B.S. I have ever heard. They tried to tell me that the crevasses of my teeth were too deep and MIGHT collect food and cause a cavity. (as if toothbrushes and picks don’t exist) So, they proposed drilling out my perfectly good teeth and putting fillings in ALL of my molars in the off chance that sometime in the distant future I MIGHT get a cavity!!! Wouldn’t that be the appropriate course of action AFTER one gets a cavity? Not just saying «well we know that you haven’t had a cavity in 33 years but there is always a chance that you might. So, let’s drill out all of your perfectly good teeth and fill them all.» It’s because of shady practitioners like these people that medical care is in the state that it is! These crooks are not only trying to scam me they are scamming the entire populace by driving up the cost of medical care and insurance.

I’ve been with the same dentist since I was in 6^th grade… I’m somewhere in my third decade now. I suppose I am with them because they put up with my crazy schedule, my intense curiosity, and never-​ending questions. I guess every time I walk into the dentist I learn something new… not like «flossing is essential» but more like your bicuspids are looking healthy yo! It’s like school all over again, but a good connection with folks who care about your genuine health.

I had an appointment there today and it has been a while since I had been there. The Dr and the assistant that I had were very kind to me. They made sure I was comfortable through out my whole visit there. This is the best dentist I have been too

I’ve been going to dentists for years and have always dreaded the experience. Dr. Chun has changed my opinion forever. She has such a professional manner and a light touch that I actually look forward to getting work done.

Dentist are OK, assistants are friendly and the front desk is trained well. Trained well to make sure they extract every dollar out of your plan.

I just had another procedure done today with Dr. Han. He took care of a crown and filling we had discussed almost a year ago. Super thankful to the reception staff for fitting me in before my vacation. During my appointment I asked a lot of questions because Dr. Han was using the CEREC machine to make my permanent crown. He was patient with me and fully explained every detail. It was fun watching him work with the 3D model to fine tune my new tooth. I was nervous as usual going in but the crown and filling were virtually painless. Again this is a testament to the skill and efficiency Dr. Han possesses. My permanent crown fits perfect and it was done in under 2 hours!

I came here 2 years ago to see Mia Chun the dentist, and I am not rating their work rather their costumer service and how they handled everything. So I come here because my teeth are short one side chipped. I wanted to lenghten it just a tiny bit, didn’t want vaneers because they are really expensive. I called the receptionist with my concern they said they would do it, but had to do x– rays to check cavities and blah blah blah. So I went in after 2 weeks they had an available appointment when I did arrive I had to fill out this long application (very long!) and I was fine with it but then! the doctor said she needed x-​rays ok they took forever. Then after they were done they said, NO cavities. And even after no cavities, they decided they couldn’t lenghten my teeth with filler like they had originally said they would. they said it would chip over time in 3 years. I told them that’s fine if it chips I won’t hold you liable. plus its only temporary while i afford vaneers. look I just wanted my teeth langhten, and if they weren’t going to do it, why x-​rays why they booked me in
so inconvinient all the way to 90^th floor on the Southland building uggh what a walk! and hassle on the elevador! and signing in in the lobby with the securities of the hige bulding.
I just have to say, a dentist has to do what the patient wants, not what they think looks good or will chip in 3 years. and If they don’t want to do it, then say it don’t start charging my insurance x-​rays and all this crap RIP OFFS!
I ended up going to another dentist and guess what they did the work, and never chipped. very disappointed with their services. I WONDER why they have 4 stars.

I’ve been going to this office all my life! The receptionists are very friendly and knowledgable. Sylvia is super nice & always willing to work with my schedule when I need to make or change appointments. Dr. Chun & her husband are some of the nicest, most genuine doctors who always have my best interest in mind. The techs are pretty good too! I never get their names, but the 2 Filipino girls are very good at cleaning & I never have a complaint:]
The office is located next to Southland Mall near the Elephant Bar and Panera. There is lots of parking. & their office is located on the 5^th floor.

Thanks to Unilocal,I have found the right dental office for me! The first time in my life that I was not intimidated!
I have had 2 visits there so far. My dentist is Dr. Lam. She might be young, but she is very experienced and she knows what she’s doing.
She looked at the X rays and identified the problems that I had, took me from start to finish. Not hard-​selling extra dental work that might not be necessary, but making useful suggestions as preventive measures which I should consider.
She was absolutely friendly! Before I knew it, the cleaning was done! She showed me the before and after — and it turned out great! I have another appointment coming up, and I am not intimidated! Thanks Dr. Lam!

My Dr. is Dr. Peter Han.
When it comes to a dentist, it is very hard to find one that you trust. My friend told me to go see Dr. Han, and I did. I have been going to Dr. Peter Han’s office for several years now and I totally trust Dr. Peter. I drive from SF to Hayward just to see him. I tried finding a different doctor in the city, but was told I needed a lot of work. That scared me and I decided to go back to Dr. Peter. Now, I don’t mind the drive. I just want to make sure I am in good hands. I read the review on Dr. Peter Han and I didn’t understand what the person was talking about. The staff are really nice to me and the prices are not all that bad compering to other doctors in the city. Maybe it was only a bad experience this person had.
We are all afraid of dentist, it is hard to find one that you trust. After many years, I found one that I like and trust and he is Dr. Peter Han.

I have been coming to Dr Chun & Dr. Han for years! They are so friendly! Staff is great. I hate coming to the dentist too. Yesterday I brought my 2 ½ year old and he was acting amuck but they didn’t get upset like most places do. Anyways it was his turn for a check up and Dr. Chun was so good with him. When he was done she told he can get a toy and he was happy. He went to the box and got a pencil! a pencil? really son a pencil? lol… and he got a toothbrush too! He loves toothbrushes! He came home and brushed his teeth again! I’m definately coming back… well i have to because I have to get a crown. :(

I called at 1130am on a Saturday. They were do friendly ana able to me within 15 minutes. Dr. Peter Han worked a miracle on re cementing a crown I had that was at least 20 years old. I made an appt. to go back next week for a cleaning and full X-​rays. What a nice find. Thanks to Unilocal

Very helpful and very sweet dentists. They were even very helpful by going the extra mile and checking my insurance and calling me a few times to make sure I was OK with the estimates. I’m definitely going to them again — well unfortunately for the cavity I have — but I’m glad at least I have the comfort of knowing they’re taking care of it.

Service is great. The dentists really care about their patients and it shows in the quality of their work. They will also tell you the truth and recommendations if you need to get more dental work done.

So I had a toothache that persisted for 3 days and was still deciding on whether or not I wanted it taken care of.
My cousin told me that a simple cavity can turn into a costly root canal if I didn’t get it checked out early.
I thought at the very least I should go in for an exam, which I am glad I did.
I had a chipped filling from a long time ago and under it a cavity was forming.
Dr Han was really nice and honest about explaining what was going on with my teeth. Despite my incessant flow of dumb questions, he was very patient with me.
After talking to him a bit you can tell he was a really nice guy. We talked about how messed up the healthcare system was, how it was like in Undergrad school etc.
Dr Han’s work was good, I’ve been to bad dentists before and when they apply the anesthesia, sometimes it hurts a bit, and if they suck, you feel it when they work on you and I’ve been in situations where I just toughed out pretty painful experiences, but with Dr Han I didn’t even feel a pinch, no pain, nada. He even told me I could raise my hand if I feel any pain.
If it were up to me I’d probably be stupid enough to sacrifice the tooth, cause I have a, «beat myself up because my I’ll deal with it» mentality, but Dr Han told me that molars are apparently very important.
After his work was done, he even gave me a prescription for painkillers even though I said I probably didn’t need any. he was right though, I think my nerves still thought it was exposed or something so eating really hurt, but the next day no pain at all, he fixed my teeth and told me what I had to do to take care of it.
Dr Chun was really nice too, she came in and checked up on me periodically.
The staff was also very accommodating and polite, it made my visit very pleasant.
I’d definitely go here again for my next dental issues and would recommend the same.
Oh yeah, and they’re on the 5^th floor or the building right next to Chase, where you get your social security cards made, I almost thought they were in Southland mall.
You have to go down the hall and go through an office like door, but it’s labeled, just a heads up to those who might get lost.
Last thing, I called them in the morning and they were able to see me the same day. So if you have a free schedule, they might be able to fit you in the same day if you’re like me and try to tough things out too often to the last moment.

My experience is based on 2 months with this group. All I got is nothing but trouble. This is the first dentist that cancelled my appointment because a patient before me had cancelled his. I guess the dentist think it’s a hassle and a waste of his time to keep my appointment. What’s so bad about cancelled appointment? He just notified me 3 HOURS prior to the appointment. This is so ridiculous!!! Don’t I have my RIGHT as a patient? Apparently, NO to them. So, I decided to stop seeing them. But the trouble didn’t end there. A week later, my new dentist called them and requested my full mouth X-​rays. Did I get it? NO. They just ignored the request. Finally, I called them directly and talked to them nicely. After convincing them that I have the RIGHT to the X-​rays, they said they’ll mail them to me. OK, finally I thought I’m really done with them. Boy, was I wrong. Full mouth X-​rays should have about 16 – 18 slides, all I’m getting is just a photocopy of 3 random X-​rays. A photocopy !!!
I wouldn’t recommend this dentist to anyone.

Ok, I am a good person but I have terrible teeth. I brush at least twice daily, floss regularly and yet I swear I have had more cavities than I have teeth. That said, I’ve spent a lot of time in dentist offices. Let me count the ways in which this office is the best I’ve ever been to:
1) You know how at some places you call for an appt. and they don’t have anything for 3 months? I had a filling fall out Saturday before memorial weekend and thought it was going to be tough to get an appt right after. Nope, called Tuesday morning and they said «is tomorrow ok?». And then 2 hours later they called and said they had a cancellation and i could come in right now if i wanted! Awesome.
2) I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes before being called in.
3) The staff are wonderful, super nice and pros at working with the insurance companies. I have never had to call or even communicate in any way with Delta like I have had to do in the past. There have been no mistakes or surprises. Incredible.
4) Very accommodating — One time i had to do some expensive work beyond what insurance would cover ($ 500!) and they set up for me to pay it in monthly installments of $ 50. And they called every month before they charged, I guess so I could make sure there was enough in my bank account if I was super low on funds.
5) Dr. Chun and Dr. Han are by far the best dentists I have ever had. Dr. Chun is super super nice and personable and has excellent dentistry skills but i have to say, Dr. Han is a grand master. You know that seemingly unavoidable pinch when they shoot the Novocaine? Somehow, for Dr. Han, it is avoidable and you don’t feel it at all. He’s quick without being hurried, gentle and a master with the drill. He did 3 fillings that involved serious drilling in one session and I expected to be in pain afterwards. Nope, no pain at all.
6) Lastly, they believe me when I tell them I try and take good care of my teeth and are sympathetic that some of us are more prone to cavities than others.

Dr. Mia Chun is by far the best dentist I’ve ever had! I’ve been her patient for about two years now, and have recommended friends and a coworker to see her for all their dental needs.
What I like about Dr. Chun is that not only is she highly skilled at what she does, she is also very kind, she remembers your name and the conversations you’ve had with her in the past. She is an attentive Doctor that talks with you, shares stories, and makes you feel very comfortable while you are sitting in that dentists chair.
If one of the other doctors is examining your teeth, and she is in the office, she goes out of her way to say hello to you and make you feel comfortable.
I have to be honest… I was quite uncomfortable when another Doctor from her office would be performing my checkup… but…after a year of being stubborn and only seeing Dr. Chun (she’s there on certain days and is usually booked solid)…I figured I would try the other Dentist in her office… I found out that the other Doctors are friendly and thoughtful as well… they go out of their way to make sure their patients not only have good teeth, but have an excellent experience as well.
I highly recommend this place to families that want a good dental experience for their kids, and of coarse, to those of us grown ups that are worried about a bad dental experience-​this place is AWESOME!

I love this woman! Mia has been my dentist since before I had teeth!
She always pops into my room if she isn’t doing my work to say «hello» and ask about my family.
Sometimes the receptionist is a little rude but I don’t think it is entirely her problem, I work late, and thus, am chronically late to everything before 1 pm.
