Ug. Walked out. We’ve never ever walked out of a restaurant before. We were promptly seated but after 10 minutes we had no silverware, no beverage request and not even an acknowledgement from the staff. We decided to leave after the person who I thought was our server delivered her tray and walked away. On our way out our true server, whom I never saw, asked if we changed our minds. Nope, I’m still hungry.

HBG is one of the best places to grab a beer and sit outside in Healdsburg. Most don’t realize this is a Doug Keane restaurant, former winner of top chef masters. The food here is composed of American classics made with local fresh ingredients, and with a top chef twist! It’s the place to be for summer days on the Healdsburg square. HBG is a staple for the town, it is almost a guarantee that the food and the environment will always be great. Because of its food and ambiance, it does tend to get very busy and very loud if the weather is nice. So be prepared to be social!

Ok, I really wanted to like this place. Beautiful location, it was packed(usually a great sign!) and appealing menu items. However, I’m not going to lie, when I spend $ 50.00 on lunch(with hubby) and I would have enjoyed a $ 5.00 in-n-out burger more, I’m not happy! The best thing about this restaurant was our friendly server. She was attentive and did her best to give us excellent service even with the restaurant being as slammed as it was. I ordered the chicken sandwich with poblano peppers and it was the most bland, boring, uninteresting sandwich ever. The salad matched it: totally boring. Everything was so awful, I ordered a side of fries, which ended up being less than spectacular, as well. In this case, I would have asked to try a different menu item(which I never do!!) but the restaurant was too busy and we were squeezed in a table at the back of the bar, making it too difficult to see our server and make this request. On the upside, my husband said his burger was amazing. I regret not getting what he ordered! He tried my sandwich and agreed with me. It seems like a lot of people enjoy watching sports and getting drinks and appetizers here. Either way, I’ll be trying another spot next time I’m in Healdsburg.

We stopped here for a leisurely breakfast, and were very happy. We opted to sit on the patio, which was nearly empty. Our waitress was so sweet, and didn’t rush us at all. I had the granola parfait, which was very good; the granola is house-made and not too sweet, the Greek yogurt was unsweetened with honey on top, and the berries were fresh. It was such a large serving that I could not finish it. My husband had the waffle with strawberries, which was good; it was a little less crisp on the exterior than most waffles, but it had a good flavor, and the berries were fresh. The orange juice was very fresh. The only bad thing, which is 100% not the restaurant’s fault, is that some awful woman left her little dog tied to the bench in front of the entrance, and the dog was clearly very scared. The restaurant allows dogs on the patio, so there was no excuse for that. Some people don’t deserve to have pets, I guess.

Loved it here. Came here with my family and girlfriend. Immediately were seating outside. It was a beautiful day so the outside seating felt great almost as if we were in a small park with their outside grass. The service was fast and friendly. Beer selection was good. And the food was amazing. I had a bacon cheeseburger with salad. The burger was well portioned and perfectly cooked. Flavor amazing and great ambiance. Definitely recommend to check it out and grab a bite to eat if you are ever in downtown Healdsburg.

We ordered the chicken sandwich, fries and veggie burger. My current spouse said his chicken sandwich was bland and dry. The fries were not very good. I liked the cheese they put on my veggie burger. For $ 50 I could have eaten somewhere better for the same price or less. The(non-service) dogs milling about and yapping and spreading their fur everywhere didn’t help the situation. At all.

Nice little spot in downtown Healdsburg. There were many different sports games playing on several of their TV’s around the bar. The sound was turned off and we were all forced to listen to someone’s playlist that was a bit too loud and a bit too young for me. My Reuben sandwich was very good. Lots of moist meat! The Sonoma mixed green salad that accompanied it was dressed lightly and it too was really nice. Service was pretty good from the really young kid that took care of us. I think it was his playlist…

I’ve never had the food here. Yes, it’s true, as all I ever enjoy here is the bar. On this visit I enjoyed Ice Cold Pabst Blue Ribbon, and, after having had multiple wine tastings, it was a pleasant change. It, though, was early afternoon, and as I was getting ready to leave they passed out the happy hour pricing, and my PBR’s went down in price. Bad timing, but a fun stop on the Healdsburg square.

Worst food of my life. And terrible service. If you can go literally anywhere else while in healdsburg you should. You’ll pay exorbitant prices for awful food. Our waitress forgot to even order our food which was clear after nearly an hour of waiting but then she tried to pretend that she did even thought we saw her laughing with the kitchen staff. Avoid at all costs.
