We just had lunch here and it was very good. In the past I was not a fan of Indian cooking coming from some bad experiences while living in Germany. Really enjoyed the Express Lunch of Lamb Aloo. Very tasty, not too spicey, but overall nicely done.

«I would just like to say thank you for the excellent service we received in your restaurant last night. Although the place was very busy we still had a great time. We ate excellent food and had a very warm and friendly Welcome. We will certainly be returning in the near Future.»

Fantastic vegetarian samousas’, lentil soup, and vegan curry with tofu and yellow curry sauce. The garlic Nan is soft and melts in your mouth. This is a hymalayan sp? Restaurant. Also, tried to fresh Hot Chai tea that was delicious. I would eat here every day if I could and the service and staff are wonderful. Very good place to visit.

I’m reviewing this one because it’s a gem in this town. It is the only Indian restaurant in Healdsburg and they make quality dishes for a decent price. Elsewhere in this town you can pay a lot more for less food and poor over all quality. Consistency can be an issue. For that reason I’d like a sliding scale star rating. I’ve experienced 5 and 3 star days here. More of the 5 star days than the 3 star though. I really don’t know why this place isn’t always busy. Maybe the 6 tastes of Indian cuisine make it just too tasty for bland American pallets around this town. Or it’s just far enough from the town center people are just oblivious. Whatever the reason, wake up and support this place. Even science has proven Indian cuisine to be the tastiest in the world, and they do it well.

We have been ordering the fish Takari for a while now and the taste varies sometimes and salmon portion is not consistent yet we love it all the same. We just received another order and there was very little fish and not even filled up to the top which is usually consistent. On top of that, they inserted a white fish rather than salmon. The owner was very gracious in accommodating us. It seems like they value their customers and are willing to take responsibility. We have been loyal customers and hope that they have much success.

Great food in this small town. Did not expect indian/nepali restaurant here but when i found one and ate here, it was a great experience with great food. Friendly staff with great lamb chilly. Other foods like chicken salad fish tandoori were also great.

Ordered the CTM& with garlic naan to go. Medium heat. Oh BOY! It’s so good. Not thick and pasty, but lovely with great flavor. My to go didn’t come with any utensils or napkins, but apparently I don’t need those — using the naan as my utensil(as it should be) and licking the sauce off my fingers! Yum. I’m a fan and will be back. Need to save up for the next $ 20 pint container, though. Ouch.

This place is friggin horrible. Waited a long time on an empty night for some over cooked bland lamb and horrible service. The lentils were good, but not good enough to mask the poor service and the rest of a bad meal. Will never go here again. Don’t know how this place got so many positive reviews.

Delicious and great service! The ambiance is serene and peaceful. Had the chicken korma and veggie samosa. Both choices were amazing. In fact, it was the best korma I’ve had in a long long time… thick, creamy & full of flavor. Thank you!

We always order the Fish Tarkari to go; the salmon is cooked just right and the coconut curry is so flavorful and creamy. I’ve attempted to cook this dish yet it doesn’t come out this good. It can be overpriced, so I’m happy they have a groupon available when we want to dine at the restaurant. –very accomodating –labels Gluten Free –option of brown rice –chai is good and hot

Three stars only because I really like Himalayan/Indian food a lot. The food at this place was only OK. The chicken tikka masala staple tasted different, not in a very good way, and I have been to countless places. My taste buds just didn’t feel much flavor. Santa Rosa offers it better.

This is in response to Mrinal’s comment(copied below) on my prior post since I cannot see an alternate way to write back. My review was mainly based on lack of management and professionalism at your restaurant. Although I do cook for my wife and mother in law from time to time, I am in fact a chef at a restaurant inside a luxury hotel in Beverly Hills. You keep implying that we are cheap, my question is why would you give us a quote for $ 650 for 50 ppl and then say that we didn’t want to spend any money, if it’s more than that then just say it’s more $. This food was not for my wedding day, it was for the rehearsal dinner. You originally told us you could deliver the food and waited until a week before to tell us that you are too busy on Friday nights and that maybe a friend could do it, but he couldn’t. We would have paid whatever delivery charge you wanted, we are not cheap people, we just don’t want to pay extra when you quoted us a specific price. When our friends came in to the restaurant to pick up the order, the woman in the front had no idea what they were talking about. We were two hours behind schedule because you were unprepared with our order. Our friends mentioned a wedding because it was our wedding weekend but this meal was for Friday night rehearsal dinner. And even if it was for a wedding, how does that change the fact that it was for 50 people? I will post a picture of what we actually served for our wedding. And lastly, you cashed both of our checks, so I am not sure why you keep saying we didn’t pay. Again, with an actual manager present, these situations(as I’ve seen in some other reviews of your place) would not arise. P. S. I removed one star for your rude, childish response. From the owner 5÷25÷2015 First of all if you are chef act like one do not call you as a chef if you only cook for your wife and her mother man and what is that 2 hour waiting you guys don’t want to pay for delivery you bring your own containers you want it soo cheap and I refuse to take your money because you guys need it more than me do if you want your marriage perfect spend some money you will get what you pay for don’t expect more if you guys can’t afford it next time go to McDonald they have $ 1 menu and just posting bad words in Unilocal by you and your mother in law don’t effect me much It will only show your cheapness Read less

We live just up the road from this restaurant, but we don’t go there much because, although the food is very good, they 1) are quite overpriced(even for the area), 2) have very small portions, 3) and have gotten our order wrong every single time we have ordered takeout(4 times now!). It’s a shame because the family that owns the restaurant are very sweet people, but something is falling through the cracks. My favorite dish is the Veggie Tikka Masala, which usually features several different kinds of veggies. I hope they pull it together because it’s nice to have an Indian restaurant closeby… I would just like to be able to eat there more affordably and more confidently.

We wanted something different from the normal dinner fare with have with the kids, so on our escape overnight to H Town it was perfect to find this treasure of a delicious Himalayan(think Indian-ish) dinner spot. Off the beaten path, Dry Creek exit off 101 at Healdsburg Ave. Saw it on the corner heading into town earlier, so circled back for supper after the day’s end. Awesome, cool décor. Friendly, helpful wait staff, great selection on the menu and the bevy list. We had a very flavorful samosa chaat to start, and the garlic cilantro naan was done perfectly. The Matar Paneer Marsala was scrumptious, the Chicken Spinach Saag was layered yumminess start to finish, the Fried Veggie Noodles were almost too much, but SO tasty. We’ll be back when we’re back in town, for sure!

We arrived at Kabob and Tandoori Ghar on a Saturday night & the atmosphere was calm & relaxing even with the dining room filled with customers. The hostess & waitress was extremely personable & helpful with recommendations of the menu items. We started off by ordering Samosa Chaat which was a textual & flavorful dichotomy that turned out to be a surprising delight for the taste buds. The sweet crunchy apples mixed nicely with the slight heat of the onions. The chickpeas added a nuttiness & the crispy vegetables really brought the dish together. The sprinkling of yougurt added a cooling quailty & the flavors of mint, cilantro & tamarind chutney were all identifiable in the dish & played their part in making it a refreshing appetizer before the main courses came out. Complimentary lentil soup was brought out with the Samosa Chaat appetizer. The lentils were perfectly cooked & the soup was exquisitely seasoned. For the main courses we ordered the Chicken Korma & Chicken Tikka Tandoori. The waitress asked how spicy we wanted the Chicken Korma(mild, medium or hot) we chose the intensity level of medium. You are also given a choice between white or brown rice, for which we chose the brown rice. Along with the main dishes we ordered a side of Garlic Cilantro Naan & a glass of Kendal Jackson Riesling. When the dishes came out they were visually stunning. The Chicken Tikka Tandoori was still sizzling & the garlic cilantro Naan gave off a mouthwatering aroma of garlicky cilantro goodness. The Chicken Tikka Tandoori was cooked perfectly, juicy & tender. The vegetables served along side it were cooked almost aldente preservating their fresh quality but also intensifying thier natural flavors. As for the Chicken Korma, it was perfectly seasoned except it lacked the medium heat level that i had asked for, bordering more on the mild side. However, it was so satisfying that I looked past that fact by the second spoonful. The Naan was perfectly cooked avoiding the heavy char marks that I’ve encountered at other restaurants. The sweet crisp & slighlty spicy Riesling paired well with the meal. Although, if I had to give some criticism, it would be that Kabob and Tandoori Ghar really lack a quality drink menu. I will definitely be returning to Kabob and Tandoori Ghar when I’m in need of a relaxing & comforting meal.

A hidden gem in Healdsburg attracts many regular locals with delucious tastes of the Himalayas; curry, aloo, masala, soups and more. Lunck specials Mon — Fri 11:00 — 2:30pm. Across from Big John’s Market. We eat here 2 – 3 times a week. Love it!

Fantastic food and great service! I would absolutely come back. It’s off the beaten path which means it’s easier to get a reservation and it’s not as crowded but the food is unique and worth coming for. The garlic and cheese naan was delicious!

We decided to take advantage of a 4 day weekend and spend a couple of nights Healdsburg. This was our first dining experience in town and the food was ok and the service was decent. Nothing great, nothing terrible. I had the following: lentil soup, samosas, garlic naan & chicken tikka tandoori. Notes: 1. Samosas — green sauce is better than the red 2. Chicken Tikka — super moist and the flavor was good but needed something to go with it, steamed brown rice wasn’t enough. 3. Naan — much greasier than I’m used to. There was nothing good about it. I wish I wouldn’t got regular naan to compare. 4. Seating — we were seated in the overflow section, the chairs were not the most comfortable & it felt like being seated at the kids table as a child.

This is a FANTASTIC restaurant featuring very well prepared Himalayan delicacies! The owners are a darling couple from Nepal. The wife runs the front of the house as if it were her own home. The husband is the chef. Tender meats and fresh local vegetables are presented with beautiful, velvety, fragrant sauces. Everything we had was delicious, fresh and very flavorful. For diners who are less familiar with the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent, this is not the typical, heavier curry found in Indian restaurants in America. These dishes are lighter, more floral and generally creamier than what you might expect. Bottom line: this is a MUSTTRY spot!

Go, Go, Go. Odd location, great food. Best Masala ever! I don’t likely overly spicy food so this was perfect. The owners treated us to a cup of their homemade lentil soup. Better than typical lentil. Much lighter. Brown rice is an option. Decent wine and beer choices. Quiet, nicely decorated. If you like spicier food ask for it!

Great Service and tasty food. We went in for lunch and the food came out fast even though they were pretty busy. There is not buffet so we went with a lunch special and a regular menu item. Very clean classy restaurant with great tenant improvements. We are both vegetarians and we liked the many options on the menu for us. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because the portion size on the dinner menu we ordered off of was more like a lunch portion, i.e., I had a vegetable Korma that had very few vegetables in it. All in all I would go back.

The worst service ever. Waited 15 min in a ¾ empty restaurant for anyone to come to take our order. The family beside us actually walked out from lack of attention. Food is pretty good, nothing amazing. Only problem– we all got diarrhea. Yup, someone must not have washed their hands in the kitchen because we were all ill shortly afterwards. Not returning.

So glad I found this restaurant in Healdsburg thanks to Unilocal. The rave reviews are spot on. Only four months old. Live the Himalayan décor. Friendly service. Various levels of lunch specials. I thoroughly enjoyed the Combo Kabob Plate. Good thing I had an appetite. Almost finished. The seasoning was killer and was cooked absolutely, so tender and flavorful. I see some other tables with Curry’s, Tandoori’s and various tofu dishes. Right off of the101 freeway in Healdsburg. Treat yourself to some amazing food and go visit…
