Wasatch Back Grill and Deli

We were driving through Heber and stopped here. We ordered one BLT and one Popeye Salad with Chicken. The salad was great, the BLT was not. The bacon was pre-​cooked and cold, there were 2 pieces of bacon with a tiny bit of lettuce and thick sliced tomato… it was weird to have a cold BLT, usually the bread is warm or toasted and the bacon is warm and there is some type of condiment, this was just dry. The menu did say selection Of condiments but nothing was offered at order. anyways, I waited the 10 minutes that they estimated for pick up, but when I got there I had to wait another 20 minutes for the food which was ready but there was a long line and I couldn’t just jump in or grab my pre-​ordered food between orders. while waiting I saw burgers and fries that looked great and I’m sure this place has more to offer than a crappy BLT.

Perfect for the family after a quick impromptu hike through American Fork canyon. I was a little put off by the price ($ 43 for a family of 4) but was super impressed with the quick friendly service and the quick manner we got our food given the small staff. There are not a lot of veggie options, but the garden burger with avocado was FABULOUS. Home made toasted buns, fresh veggies & local beer. It was an impromptu but great choice/​stop

Awesome place. Don’t let the strip mall store front look fool you. The food and service were amazing. We ordered the chicken bacon cheddar and the wasatch back burger and both were delicious. Fries are awesome and the service is great. The owner is super friendly and does a really great job with his customers. We will definitely be returning to the wasatch back!

Great unique burgers! A nice find en route from SLC to Vernal. We’d come back again for lunch if ever in the area…

This has become somewhat of a regular spot for us. We don’t go super often but when we want a burger is always on the list of places to go to.
I have found that my favorite is the French dip. Their Rosemary aujus is a contender for the best aujus I’ve had.

I love this place. The burgers are high end tasing, but not high end priced. The onion rings are so so soo yummy. Makes me happy.

Fun American food.
I ordered the halibut fish and chips. It comes in a basket with coslaw and a bit of tarter sauce and fry sauce.
The halibut was well cooked for fried food. I enjoyed the flavor. I substituted the chips for sweet potato fries. They were very good and I would order them again.
The dining room is a bit cramped, but the food makes up for it. Next time I go here (the menu is large and looks yummy), I will probably sit on their nice patio tables. :)

Mmm… deep char grilled chicken breast and the earthy flavor of the mushroom, the mild sweet flavor of the swiss cheese brings perfect harmony on this fantastic sandwich. They also butter and toast the buns. To top it all off… It came with seet and tangy pickles on the side. Booyah! On my cheat day I will have to try their burgers as other Unilocalers are recommending them.

I took the whole family here and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious most of the food was. I had the Wasatch Back chicken sandwich and it was fabulous. Sweet potato fries were great. My daughter loved the Mac and cheese. Burgers were loved and my gluten free kid was thrilled at all the menu options for him. The only down side was the Southwest salad. Pretty meh. Huge menu, they could totally pare it down and focus on what they do best. Service was excellent. Very friendly. Could tell that the owners/​managers are passionate about being successful.

Very good food! After a week of bland overpriced food in park city, this place was refreshing. No frills inside, but great tasting consistent food and good customer service! We enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak and the wasatch back burger. Quick service-​good prices-​great food. We’ll be back!

We came up to Midway to go to the Ice Castles. Afterwards we were hungry and so I checked on Unilocal for a place to eat. This place was highly rated, and, bonus, the flyer for the Ice Castles had a coupon for this place. Believe the good reviews. The food was way good. I ordered a chicken sandwich; my husband got a burger; and we got a kid’s burger, fries, onion rings, and cookies. We also ordered a hot dog. Everything was good. My husband said the onion rings were the best he’s ever had. (Not the best I’ve ever had, but I’m not a fan of beer-​battered stuff.) This is better than your typical greasy spoon. Not only was the food great, but the service was great as well. Super friendly. It makes me sad that this place is so far away. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll definitely return. So yeah, eat here if you’re in the area.

We were looking for lunch after xc skiing at Soldier Hollow. The re iews of this place looked good so we checked it out.
Excellent food and service. Limited but good beer selection with some nice local brews. on day 2
Salads are huge! Best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had and the butternut squash soup was fabulous. Others with me enjoyed burgers and loaded baked potatoes that they agreed were very goid.
We went back on day 2… excellent.

Best place in Heber. Had him cater for several events. Never disappoints! Great service and awesome food!!!

This place has great food and friendly service. My son and I stopped in for lunch after a trip on the North Pole Express.
They have a lot of selection on both their kid and adult menus. I got the firehouse burger which had a sweet and spicy sauce and jalapeño jelly and it was delish. Just a tiny kick to it… perfect! I really appreciate having some spicy options. (I’ve gotten really used to restaurants in this state describing things like bell peppers as spicy.)
My son had the mac and cheese which was not the standard out of the box type — also great!
Really reasonable prices. Would highly recommend.

Fresh, quality ingredients, great meals and friendly folks make this one of the best places in Heber Valley.
Here are some of the stand out items:
The Ruben sandwich. One of the best I’ve ever had.
The onion rings. The best I’ve ever had, period.
The salads. Their veggies are never wilted or old. Always crisp, fresh and cold.
I love this place and highly recommend it. The line at lunch speaks more than I probably ever could.

I came to this place during Swiss days which is just down the road very busy time year and it wasn’t that crowded I came at lunch time on a Saturday and await mine for about 15 minutes but the food was good not great but good. They have a lot of variety and I enjoyed it. Tim

I’m vacillating furiously between 4 and 5 stars, so I guess I’ll use the SCOTUS method. «I can’t really define 5-​stars, but I’ll know it when I see it.»
I guess I’ll start with the less-​than-​stellar aspects of WBG&D. The menu is daunting and overwhelming. They included just about everything you can think of, which always makes me wonder if they do anything exceptional, or tons of things halfway. The place isn’t much to look at from the outside, and it’s hard to tell if it’s a sit-​down resto, a deli, or a cafeteria… or what. It’s just a bit strange. It turned out to be the latter. You walk up, place your order, and they bring it out to you.
Now, on to the good/​great. The FOOD! Holy FOOD! We had onion rings, fish and and fries and a steak sandwich. Everything was dynamite! I was worried that Lisa wasn’t going to like the fish, because it looked a bit like fish sticks. My fears were unfounded. YUM! It was super tasty, flaky and high-​quality. My steak sandwich was magically delicious! It was juicy, flavorful and HUGE! The onion rings also were exceptional. They were big and bold and delicious, with the perfect amount of breading. I’m not sure HOW they can make everything on this gigantic menu and do it all well, but so far so good.
The service was fast and friendly and super helpful.
They serve beer and wine, which is a huge plus.
I’m definitely going to hit this place up, next time in town, and see if I can find that 5^th star!

Best french dip I have ever had! The roast beef was tender and the au jus was delicious! My husband had the Wasatch Back Burger and loved it. The fry’s were yummy. A couple of my kids got the Mac & Cheese and so I tasted that and it was also very good. I thought since it was just a kids meal it would simply be Craft Mac & Cheese since that’s what a lot of restaurants do but it was homemade with fresh grated Parmesan cheese on top.
It was just a normal Saturday evening but the owner took time to actually come out randomly and ask us how our food was. I’m very very impressed with this place and can’t wait to go back. My only small issue were the prices. They were a little more expensive then I was prepared for but the food was so yummy that I think it was worth it and still cheaper then lots of sit down restaurants.

I built my own burger and had onion rings on the side.
The first thing I noticed was the flavor if the burger. It tasted like someone actually cooked it on a grill, like one would do at home. That was unique, and was the anchor for an overall «home cooked» experience for the burger. Although it was good overall, it was a bit dry.
The onions in the onion rings were very sweet, and the batter had a beer flavor. And they were characteristically greasy.
The seating is a touch cramped, but the restaurant was really clean considering I was here at lunch rush. The staff is friendly and professional, and the service was good.
We will be back to try more items on their diverse menu of comfort food.

This place is truly a hidden gem. My daughter dances at the studio next door and we had some time to wait one night and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Our family ordered several different items and each one was great. My two youngest kids are very picky and they loved it which is really saying something.
I particularly like that the owner takes your order and brings your food out. He loves what he does and makes sure that everyone is doing well throughout the dinner. We continue to go here on a regular basis now.
