This pumpkin patch was in Helotes, TX last year but has since moved to the access road on 151 near Potranco Rd and Hunt Lane for the 2012 year. I was pretty disappointed in this pumpkin patch. Visited today and was expecting it to be a lot better and a lot cheaper. I probably shouldn’t have such high hopes. The parking is such a pain since it’s right on the access road, I can only imagine how many accidents there might be since this location is new to everyone. We waited in the line for 20 minutes to enter(got there at 12PM on Sunday when it opened). It was pretty busy to say the least and it was the smallest pumpkin patch area ever. For as much as they have to offer, it would’ve been a lot better if they had expanded. It was pretty busy and hard to move around without bumping people or cutting in front of people who were waiting in the lines. The admission was $ 5 per person, kiddos are free under 16 years(which is a huge bonus). But once you get inside, be prepared to spend waaaay more than just $ 5. Each activity costs so much tickets(1 ticket = $ 1). The cow train was 3 tickets, hayride was 3 tickets, petting zoo was 3 tickets, the moonbounce was 3 tickets, riding the pony was 5 tickets, bouncing on this insane jumping machine was 5 tickets. Overall, A LOT of money can just be blown out the window from this place. It was nice, but it’s unlikely I would ever go back. The people working at the entrance and at the food concessions were pretty grumpy too, not happy as I expected them to be. The area I really enjoyed was the actual pumpkin patch area, it was great to take photos and A LOT of pumpkins to choose from. The moonbounces were freaking crazy, my son got on the bottom of a bunch of kids and were trampling him, thankfully I was there to get him out but it would’ve been good to have people monitoring the moonbounces or at least make the parents supervise their children. I definitely wouldn’t go back to this pumpkin patch and I would probably not recommend it to people. It might be because I visited South Texas Maize and had such a great time. It’s $ 10 per person there(kids 2 and under are free) but everything is included in the price. It’s worth the extra drive and the extra cost on the admission to just go elsewhere!

Ahhh pumpkins. The time honored Fall tradition. Pumpkin«patches» in San Antonio are a bit different from the ones I frequented as a youngin in Kentucky. There, the pumpkins grew in the ground and you chose them off the vine. Here, they adorn church parking lots and you chose them from their perch in a haystack. In the end, the result is just the same and this pumpkin patch is extra special. Here, you can find fun for the whole family. Everything from rides to food and drinks. You pay a few bucks to get in and then have a blast with your kids until they’re so worn out they fall asleep in the car on the ride home. It’s the perfect kind of family night!

This Pumpkin Patch is fun for the whole family! $ 3 – 5 admission, you buy tickets for individual vendors, but it is all reasonable rates. Bounce houses, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, hay ride, bucket train, lots for the little kids to do. Good food and great prices on drinks, also good prices on beer for the Moms and Dad! Great that it’s so close to town! Check them out on facebook:
