BUT… I moved to Where the H*** is Hemet?, seventeen years ago. I ate lunch at Jeri’s, was completely underwhelmed, and assumed it would be going out of business soon. For example, the salsa*, which so many people here praise, was so weak that I could only say, well, this is the most Gringo Mexican place I have ever been to. The food, beans, etc, were unmemorable. It was clean, and quiet, and, thank goodness, no TV. But now, as Jeri’s is apparently doing something right, it is still in business, I plan to give it another visit. Just because I, and they, are still here. * Re the salsa: unfortunately, Hemet is such a whitey town, that it might as well be in Nebraska, as far as Mexican food is concerned. So, I suppose the owner of Jeri’s knows her customer base.

Love the food, agree with the other reviews about how wonderful the owner Jeri is. Great little joint. BUT, after 5 visits probably won’t be back. Why? We were so pleased with this«great local find» took family as our guests last visit, and while food quality was still wonderful and tasty, was totally embarrassed. Posted hours are until 7, we were well within that post, although we were last customers there(party of six, ordering alcohol as well as food) and we’re stared at by owner, Jeri point blank, informed by Jeri, while still eating, had been a long day, and felt rushed from premises. How great of a host did she make us out to be?

I haven’t tried a lot here, but the house salsa is outstanding. The chilaquiles ate good and what I like to go to get. The service is good too. I like to call in and place an order for pick up, it is always ready on time.

Ordered breakfast burrito got a bean and rice enchilada for $ 8.50. There was no breakfast in the burrito. It’s not your typical breakfast burrito. Though staff was very friendly and the décor was dated I don’t think I’ll return here.

Came here with my mom and my 4 year old son and they are amazing! My mom said she use to come here all the time but me and my son have never came. The food was good and the staff was very quick and helpful. I will definitely be coming back. I also like that the bathrooms are clean! :) we hardly eat out as a family anymore and this place was wonderful! :) our total was about $ 30 for all 3 of us. I’m full and we are taking lots of food home! I am a very happy costumer. My favorite part was the FAST service! Always had a full drink, a full bowl of chips, and the food we order came quickly. :)

My friends and I stopped in for lunch after a mountain bike ride in Idyllwild. The food was great! The salsa and beans that we were given to us with our chips were delicious. We tasted the hardshell tacos, enchiladas, and flautas. All were delicious! When in the area, we will definitely be going back to this place.

I ordered the carniasada steak, and it was okay. It did not come in tiny pieces like other Mexican restaurants, it came in big thin steak pieces which is very unique. The waiters were very nice, and eager to serve us. The place was nice and clean, and the food came fast. Good place to eat and I definitely recommend this place.

I have been eating at Jeri’s every time I come to Hemet for the past 17 years. The food is fresh and delicious. The have had the same chef the since the restaurant opens. I love the Chili Verde, the burritos, the carne asada platter and the french toast. You can also call in order and pick up take our. It is the restaurant where all the locals eat and it is worth stopping by.

Strange little place. First off, it’s carpeted, which always kinda messes with me. Secondly, they offer take-out, but no real place to do that. It was REALLY quiet inside, which also messed with me. The food was decent, but nothing fantastic. I really wanted to like this place, based on the reviews, but it was just average. Don’t know if I’d go back again, but if I did, I’d probably try a breakfast burrito.

December 26th. I wasn’t thinking this place was going to all that good or even in business. The last review was in 2008. There was a Check-In about a 4 months ago, but really how can you trust that. This was a easy place to find in Hemet. down the street from a Henry’s Market. The best thing about this place is it was the day after Christmas and it was full of Older Folks. and all of them being Caucasian. and from the sound of it Republican. You know, most older people talk louder, and hey did. LOL mostly about how they dislike the president and how mush his fucking up the country, and younger kids being useless. I’m in heaven. and everyone thinks the same as me. The only Spanish people was the 2 cooks and the waiter. All of them were clean, dressed well and very service friendly. I must be in the Twilight Zone. The customers were just as friendly. I may be over doing this but, hey it’s my review. OK, now the reason why I’m here. Huevos Rancheros Sunday. 2 eggs smothered in rancheros sauce, topped with cheese, onions, cilantro. with 2 soft corn tortillas on the bottom, The chips are served with a nice tasting salsa and a retried bean salsa and excellent rice. This is also one of the best I’ve had. I thought last Fridays huevos rancheros was going to be it, but this was just as good and cheap. This was better then any Christmas gift i received yesterday. LOL Jeri’s has a big menu. The place is very clean with great service. I’ll be back to this place. for Huevos Rancheros and to try some of there other dishes.
