Willow Garden Chinese Restaurant

Randomly decided to come here with friends to today and it was a good choice. Portions were big and taste good. Service was good. Will be returning soon since I really enjoyed the chicken chow mien.

This is my new fav Chinese restaurant in rodeo/​hercules … I love pork fried rice and won ton soup!!!

When they first opend they gave you large portions food was great. I went in recently on my way to work. I was beyond upset I was given a little tiny tiny tiny scoop of rice with 4 tiny tiny tiny honey walnut shrimp with two walnuts. I have not been back since they should have been ashamed of themselves furthermore I should have taken it back I had brought several lunches for girls at work. They would have gotten good business often. I used to go at least 2 times a week. Owners if you read this and wonder why your line is no longer out the door this is exactly why.

Decent food, but overpriced. Absolutely horrendous service. The woman was very rude, dismissive, and literally set my food on the counter and walked away. She was completely different towards the other customers, regardless of the fact that I was very polite. There was also a giant hole in one of the Styrofoam containers they placed my food in. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and will not be returning again.

Solid spot delivery is fast and easy. Portions on entrees could be better. All n all solid chinese.

I like this place! The lady is very nice! She may not speak a lot but she isn’t rude. I always order salt n pepper fish. You get a lot for the price. I also order the chicken and green beans in black bean sauce, excellent! This is the only place I order from in Hercules.

I got into a full blown yelling match over $ 1 scoop of white rice that they forgot on my order. When I asked for my money back all hell broke loose over $ 7.lol I looked up this place at the health department and saw that they have so many violations they may get closed down… Beware!!!

Good food. Decent prices. My daughter hates authentic Chinese and always asks me for Panda Express. But she loves this place! We will be back.

The only reason I didn’t give this place five stars us because the waitress that brought me my food didn’t say much. Hut other then that I am very satisfied with the quality of food! I will definitely be coming back here. Glad I didn’t give my money to the raggedy restaurant down the street!

Love that General Tsou chicken! It’s unlike any other kind I’ve had and I think you can actually taste the honey in it… caramelized, crunchy, sticky goodness!

Please post your business hours. it is currently 4:54pm on a Sunday. Your phone keeps ringing and I have no idea whether or not you guys are open. Your food is good but your lack of online information (no menu and no business hours) is not good.

No idea what the f’ y’all are talking about when you say «friendly service». If by ‘friendly’ you mean ‘bringing your food to you without a single word’, then sure.
The chicken was weird. Really fatty and chewy. Maybe others like that. Even the fried rice and chowmein tasted artificial.
I imagine the good reviews must’ve been family or friends, ’cause this place was no bueno.
In any case, never eating here again.

This is the only place in the area where my husband and I will go for Chinese cuisine! The service is always friendly and potstickers are off the hook! If you like fish, the steamed fish filet (on the specials board) is delicious! We’ve never had a meat dish that’s been poorly prepared. All the dishes are good, every time we go there (at least twice a month for the past year!).

food was delicious and they do combo plates all day long. the staff is super friendly and sweet. I’m not disappointed at all.

We stopped one evening on the drive back from SF and wasn’t sure what to expect. We ordered a selection of items and everything was really tasty and hot and fresh. Best items were the lemon chicken, crispy beef, fried rice (we got ours with just egg, carrot and peas) and chicken chow mein with crispy noodles. All in all, very pleasantly surprised. Service was great.

I went ahead tried this place based some of the latest reviews, but after a first hand experience this place is ok, if I had a choice I would probably rate it equal or less than Panda Express. Here some Pros and Cons.
Pros:
1) Smelled like an authentic Chinese restaurant.
2) Good Chicken dishes, but need to use white meat, instead of dark meat.
3) The counter lady and kids with the iPad was very kind.
Cons:
1) Update the décor, looks very greasy, maybe due to a lots wok cooking.
2) Someone on Unilocal mentioned «Best Egg-rolls“I don’t think so! The Egg-​rolls were ok, but the best Egg-​rolls hands down goes to Mandarin Gourmet in San Jose. This is after try more than 100+ Chinese restaurants.
3) The dinning room is very small! The kitchen is like twice the size! Not so good layout design.
I really do enjoy Chinese food, but some places really need to have better standards. This place is one of those places that could be great, if they use fresh ingredients and cut back on the msg. Plus switch to using better cuts of meat, which would make a huge difference and drive up their revenue with more customers.

Lunch specials are a good deal but food is typical takeout. I didn’t like that once they got me in a few times for lunch, their portions slowly got smaller. Not cool.

I’ve been here several times, and don’t let the small size of this restaurant fool you; their food is amazing.
Pros:
— Food: The food is DELICIOUS
— Service: The service is great. There is one woman who accommodates all customers, and I love her. She is is always so friendly and helpful. My coworkers and I have called and ordered dine-​in service ahead of time due to the fact that have a 30 minute lunch break. Every time, there was hot, fresh food waiting for us.
— Delivery: Always a nice convenience
— Take out: Another great convenience
Cons:
— Small place: Don’t expect to bring a large party here, as there is limited seating. I’d say max capacity is around 20 – 25.
Willow Garden has the absolute BEST egg rolls I have ever had IN MY LIFE. They’re nice and crispy on the outside, and on the inside, your taste buds are hit with a delicious blend of freshly cooked vegetables and seasonings that elevate the flavor to a whole new level. I consider myself a carnivore, and even though these egg rolls have no meat, they are still the best to me. I’ve had other dishes, such as the chow mein, cashew prawns, sweet and sour chicken, and Mongolian beef; everything has been excellent.
It’s important to note that Willow Garden underwent new management sometime last year, 2013 (from what the host has told me). This is probably why the older reviews are so low, because by no means does this place deserve such low ratings.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants great-​tasting Chinese Food and excellent service, or just the Chinese Food through take out.

Fam ordered delivery from here last night. Yum. I had just worked out, and I still went all in on the chow mein (we ordered it spicy and it came spicy) and Schechwan (I know, that spelling was a joke) chicken (which was BOMB).
I would come back. I would recommend it. I would order it to be delivered. Delish.

I’ve had a few takeout dishes here, and everything has been very good and decently priced. I currently alternate between this place and Hunan Villa to get my Chinese food in this area.
