I went on the rectory’s annual holiday tour. It’s room after room of decorated Christmas goodness! I wish I had counted how many trees. At least three floors, including the basement, in a huge building. Different rooms have different themes. My favorites were the Wizard of Oz room and the Phantom of the Opera room. The wine cellar was impressive. The place was absolutely PACKED and there were volunteers on hand to direct you from room to room. I have not been to a space more crowded with people in my entire life. It was kind of like leaving a ballgame, except there were shining lights and sparkly objects to distract the individuals in front of you and slow everyone down. I don’t know that I’ll be back next year, but it’s a nice way to pass an hour during Hermann’s Christmas festivities.
