Could not have been more disappointed. I trusted them to size a ring belonging to my husband who passed away.
It was a unique design with a sapphire on the underside and three more and a diamond on top.
It was in perfect condition when I gave it to him.
When I got it Back two of the sapphires were broken and the bezels were damaged.
I took the ring to SEYMOURS Jewelery who did a great job. They had to replace two sapphires and the bezels.
Lesson learned. I will not go back to Avanti nor will any of my friends.

Brought in 4 total stones to create 2 rings and a pair of earrings. We were told approximately 2 weeks to complete these items.
The owner did warn us to stay on top of him to get the work done, which is fine we thought, we were not in a huge hurry but he said it should not take longer than 2 weeks and gave us a completion date aproximately 2 weeks from drop off time. After 5 phone calls over a period of 3 weeks after the first week has passed, during which no updates were given of any kind other than «I am getting to work on your stuff now» each time, 2 call backs with update were promised and zero received. One month later we decided it was time to pay the owner a visit in person to check up on the progress of our items which were prommised to be completed 2 weeks ago originally.
The items were never touched or taken out of the original bags in which they were left with the Jeweler 1 month ago.
The owner is a very nice guy and highly appologized, however his first question was would you like your stuff back, instead of saying i am sorry, let me make this right and complete these for you ASAP.
Obviously i have no issue giving someone another chance especially as an owner of an up and coming Jewelry shop. However, not when there was almost no interest from Kevin to actually correct the situation, rather he seemed quite excited to just give us our items back.
Basically thank you for wasting 1 month of our time. At least could have called us back at least once and said I am sorry I am very busy and have not gotten to your stuff. Who knows how long this would have gone on for if we did not go check up on this in person.
Not Happy…

Kevin is an artist with a heart of gold! He is as kind and generous as he is gifted with creativity. In an age that sorely lacks a «neighborhood» anything, Kevin is the epitome of the neighborhood business. He spends time with anyone who walks in whether or not they are there to spend money. Six years ago I lost thousands of dollars of jewelry in a catastrophic fire. What was left was in a congealed blob of stuck together chunks. Kevin rehabilitated most of the pieces beautifully and at reasonable cost. He will be my jeweler always! Janine M. Manhattan Beach

I’ve been going to Kevin for probably over a decade now bringing him requests for watch pin replacements, bracelet band resizing, ring resizing, battery replacement, and other small stuff. He asks me for a nominal fee and sometimes not at all (I protest, but he insists). He is trustworthy and humorous. I find that the combination of character and talent like his is tough to come by these days. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring him a more meaningful request someday.

Kevin is an old school craftsman. He created an incredible wedding ring for my wife from my mom’s engagement ring and my wife’s grandmother’s ring. He also crafted a completely custom wedding ring for me from one of my mom’s broken bracelets! …at beyond fair prices. He’s great!

fair/​competitive prices, honest estimates, quality workmanship, and a personable on-​site owner.
The only caveat here is be prepared to spend a few extra minutes with the in-​store owner, Kevin; a 20+ year Hermosa businessman he always has a few great local stories to relate.

Kevin the owner is always a pleasure to deal with! My wife and I use him for everything from custom made jewelry to polishing her engagement ring and changing the battery on the Omega he gave me a great deal on!

When me and my fiancé were looking for a jeweler to make our custom wedding rings, we wanted to support a local business and decided for Avanti because we really liked the owner.
That all changed when we found out a day before our departure to our wedding destination, that both of our rings were not ready!!! So he «ran out of stones» and didn’t bother giving us any notice until it was too late? I’m sorry, but there’s no excuse for that. If he couldn’t do it, he could have told us 4 weeks earlier when we dropped of our order. I finally received my ring 3 weeks after our return and my husband 5 weeks later… I would not have written a review if the rings would have at least looked great, but I’m very disappointed from his quality of work, not to mention his work ethic. I would not recommend this store at all unless you don’t care about timing and quality. But I guess you get what you pay for. lesson learned.
