My friends and I were bar hoping when we all decided to look for a place to play pool. Sadly, we stumbled upon this place. Beers were $ 6.50, where we had paid $ 4.75 at Sharkeez and it was cash only. It was dirty, run down and a boring scene. We only stayed for one game of pool because we had already paid for it and our drinks. Needless to say we will never return here.

Went by for the Steelers Home opener, but found that the place was closed. No answer on the phone. Too bad for the Steeler faithful. This was my favorite Steelers bar in the South Bay. Lots of tables, lots of authentic, hard core Steeler fans, and full service bar and good breakfast specials.

Being kind, this place is a dump. No beers on tap, over priced cheap beer($ 13 for two Stella’s), trashed restrooms(no lock on the door for a one person restroom), and half lit pool tables. Thank goodness the pool is «free». First time and last time here. No wonder the old owners bailed(notice of new ownership on the front door).

My first time here right off the bat I thought it was a great location. Walking in the music got us pumped. Walked up to the bar… Zero beers on tap and only offered 6 beers bottled. I ordered 2 Stella’s(but got charged for 2 coronas… No biggie) at $ 6 a piece, a bit overpriced if you ask me. They offer free pool so that drew me in again. There was no lights over the pool table and the stick I was playing with was cracked. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about dive bars but this took it to a whole new level. The location is great, the venue is a great size, but no one has put any money or time into this place. I would much rather spend my money else where. Definitely not coming back.

I like all the Tvs everywhere. The layout and pool tables are nice. However they had a ton of beer taps and only the coors light and Guinness were working. After a handful of Guinness I was broke and bored.

A colleague at work recommended this place whenever I come to Hermosa Beach. Since the playoffs were on I thought this would be the perfect place to watch the games. Upon entrance the place was packed with other patrons. I intially thought trying to get a drink would be impossible but, the bartenders served us right away. Although, I will say various beers were not available on tap. I’m not a beer drinker but, I found it odd that they didn’t think to have these things fixed. Since the place was packed there were no available tables but, a nice couple asked my friend and I if we wanted to join their table. We gladly took their offer. Soon after another table opened up and the rest of my party got to sit down. The waiter we had did an awesome job. He was attentive, friendly, and very professional. My only grip was our fries took forever and they were undercooked. I know that wasn’t his fault, so hopefully the kitchen does a better job in the future. The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced. The crowd seemed to be young college guys and a few over the hills trying to fit in. However everyone seemed pleasant and there were no sloppy drunks wondering about the bar. In the end I had a good experience here and I would come back.

I came here to watch a football game with friends and had a good time. We were able to get a table at 5:30 on a Sunday, so I’m glad it wasn’t overly packed. The noise level was pretty high, with music blasting so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. Our waitress was really nice and provided good service. The food was typical bar food and tasted good, though my burger was overcooked. This is partly my fault because I forgot to specify that I wanted it medium or medium rare, but partly their fault because she forgot to ask me how I’d like it cooked when taking my order. I wish she had come back to ask before the chef put it on the grill because it was pretty well done inside, which I did not prefer. Although I wasn’t drinking on this occasion, my friends noted that they were out of a ton of different beers.

We were here on a Thursday for some football, and they have great happy hour specials! I had the steak tacos and they were pretty good. The staff was very friendly.

This was one of the sports bars in the area that wasn’t of Irish, Scottish or leprechaun decent. All jokes aside this was a really amazing bar. Wall to wall high tech screens, amazingly sexy pool tables, long bar and decent bathrooms. I would definitely come here often.

On an idle Tuesday evening, this is a great go-to– you can easily reserve a pool table, have a few moderately priced cocktails and listen to top 40ish music on the surrounding speakers. It’s a dive bar meets pool hall in the heart of Hermosa Beach. On a Friday or even Saturday evening, you will be scrambling to get a seat at the bars, and reserving a pool table is near impossible, but those cocktails will still be moderately priced. This limits your options to sitting at the bar(after waiting a while to «earn your spot») and eyeing some of their attractive bartenders, or tripping balls to one of their interesting music videos which will be playing on one of their many big screen TV’s behind the bar. All in all, this is a good place to start the night, have a few drinks, and if you’re lucky, shoot some pool. ADIOS!

Had some Michigan fans come in to visit for the Labor Day weekend, so we decided to come to this bar to watch the game because it’s hosted by the Michigan Alumni Association. We were pretty disappointed. The good: The food is decent and the prices are right. For bar food, we really enjoyed the King of Kings burgers and the small plates(nachos, onion rings). Also, there are plenty of places to sit — even nice chairs in the back that 2 – 3 people can lounge on, if they can’t get a table. The bad: We had to ask the staff to put the Michigan game on the TVs — and they’re supposed to be hosting the game!!! Also, they blast music during the commercials… but then when the game starts, they forget to turn it off so you miss a good portion of the commentary until one of the staff realizes the game is back on. Finally, some girl will get on the bar microphone during the game — during the plays! — and randomly shout things like«Michigan, get loud!»(followed by silence since we’re all WATCHINGTHEGAME). Really really annoying. We stayed for the whole game, but we all agreed that we are definitely not coming back to this bar if we want to watch college ball.

Didn’t want to pay the $ 5 cover at all the other bars so walked over to Game Changers and was pleasantly with the music, crowd, drink prices, and no wait. Only down side is one stall for that whole bar and you know what that means for us ladies, LONGLINES… For an establishment of their size I think they should have a minimum for at least 4 stalls for the ladies. But that’s that only thing I have to complain about. They have TV’s all over the place, about 4, maybe 5 pool tables. Not much of a dance floor but you can pretty much make your own dance floor anywhere. The DJ the Saturday we went(6÷29÷13) played to what the crowd was feeling, hip hop, top 40. All in all it was a good night! Yes, yes I know $ 5 isn’t much but I’d rather that $ 5 go to a drink than a cover charge. So thanks Game Changers for being cover charge free!

Too many TVs to focus on when it is right next to each other and on different sports channel! It gets eye-soaring, but yet multi-tasking at the same time! They have mimosas here. My friend and I were craving for some refreshments and the mimosas hit the spot. Their nachos topped with hot Cheetos, looked delicious and it’s only 8 bucks! Great for an appetizer! It took awhile for the food to come out. The drinks were served in a jiffy!

a measured shot of Jameson’s ought not put me back $ 7.00, yet here it did. bartender was average in terms of friendliness. really, the only smile we got from him was when he tried to sell me a second shot after being informed that one was sufficient as I have a low tolerance. yet the fries were nice, not great but nice, the fans cooled us down after our biking, and the mister could indulge in sports watching attention deficit disorder thanks to the way too many TV’s to count.

How have I not reviewed this monstrosity of an establishment? Now that it’s been awhile, I can say that Game Changer’s is definitely a one star bar. Not only is it douchey, but it feels kinda dirty. AND there’s a Unilocal check-in special. My group ordered some drinks and tried to redeem our free beer shortly after buying about 5 beverages. The bartender told us we needed to present the check-in deal at time of purchase. But I showed it to him literally a minute after getting our order. Why would they dispute a Unilocal check-in offer? Isn’t the entire point to get people in the door? He wouldn’t give it to us. Then I talked to the manager and told him the situation. Still no free beer. They were all stubborn and oddly mean. WHYEVENHAVE A UnilocalDEAL? Sadly I won’t return. I suggest the management take the Unilocal deal off if they can’t give a large party a free draft beer for checking in on the app. If you’re gonna be a douche about it, don’t offer.

A nice little spot to chill and watch some games. Tons of tv’s so you can watch pretty much every game or fight available. Lots of beers on tap and reasonably priced. They even got some pool tables to kill some time. This place can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but that’s what makes it fun. The bartenders are cool and the crowd is diverse and not uptight at all. That’s all I look for in a sports bar like this. I’ll be back again for sure.

You know that feeling where you have to fix your shorts but you can’t pick your ass in public? That’s kinda how I felt upon visiting Game Changers this past Saturday night. Not a very positive sight to walk in at 10 pm here to see a couple hand fulls of people sitting at the bar, though the 3 pool tables were occupied. My friend and I came here as a plan B because there was a private party at the bar next door, and we could get our pool game on. We got on the wait list and I began to go over their large list of tap beers, I soon selected a wheat beer and it turned out to be one of 2 beers(42 on tap?) that they where out of. Guy bar tender recommends something similar, first taste and it seems off badly. I’m not sure if it was this particular beer or it sat in the tap tube a while… Anyway, our table came up. They have these boxes of foam to shuttle the balls from the bar, it was broke. There were 3 tables left over from the 5 of Sharks Cove, they were nicely refitted with a tan felt and new leather pockets. Unfortunately, and this is a HUGE point with me(besides serving skunky beer), there was not one straight stick in the place! Fuck, if you’re going to have a decent area for playing pool get some quality sticks! I go back to the bar for my second beer and I go with a favorite standard, Arrogant Bastard… Yup, I selected the 2nd beer that they are out of!(note to self, buy lotto ticket) So, I ask for Sierra Nevada in a bottle, they don’t have that. :o/The nice girl bartender recommended some other IPA, I taste it and it wasn’t stinky, the flavor was fine. They have the same bathrooms left over from SC which makes for long lines for the girls, I didn’t see any lights back where the kitchen is… So no late night food, they did have a DJ booth BLASTING tunes in this poor acousticly challenged place, I guess you can dance? Seemed like the crowd here was mostly those who couldn’t get in at other bars, they should rename this place to Plan B! lol p. s. nice tv’s

This was happy hour spot #2 after happy hour stint #1 at Sharkeez(My Sharkeez review here: ) Game Changers has a totally different feel from Sharkeez from just the way the place is structured to the people that were there(It’s more of a mature crowd versus the college crowd that tends to be at Sharkeez). There are plenty of flat screen TVs all around the place and there are several nice pool tables. It was a Friday night and though there was plenty of people coming in and out, there seemed to be plenty of space for everyone! Seating is mostly bar stools and tall tables. I had to laugh at some of the posters that were up. They were retro looking signs with funny slogans like«I only drink to make you more interesting.» Lol. Anyways I liked the feel of this place. Very simple. Flat screen TVs, pool tables and bar stools. I could see why the name of this place is GameChangers because it seems like it would be a good place to catch a game. It really is a sports bar.

Nice pool tables, which you almost can’t find anywhere else.(Pockets is nice too, but a bit older). They have a LOT of beers on tap. Parking is, of course, impossible. If it’s Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, forget about it. Park far and walk. I’ve been twice now and service was good. They have a ton of flat screen TV’s. Impressive.
