The Hershey Free Church is what we’d call in my neck of the woods a «megachurch». Their sanctuary can hold around 5000 people, and at the last service I attended, the place was nearly full. They have three services on Sunday — 8:00AM, 9:15AM, and 11:00AM — so there are plenty of choices depending on your morning routine. The congregation is welcoming, but not intrusive. The worship style is contemporary with synthesizer, drum set, guitars, and a team of singers. The pastor preaches in a combination of exegetical and topical style. This is a large church with a lot of opportunities and resources. It has a strong biblical base, and a tradition of strong doctrine. They have strong community outreach programs as well. The hardest part of services is their busy parking lot. Be sure to follow the traffic patterns and obey those directing you to spaces. And watch out for the occasional congregant who may step out into traffic without looking both ways.
