I most recently got interior blinds installed by Rolling Shield for my apartment. I am extremely happy with their customer service and my Sales Rep… I am completely in love with my blinds. They have a lot of modern designs, which is really great.

Checked into this company Rolling Shield as we were looking to get a retractable awning for our home patio. Horrible, cheap junk! They tell you their awnings must be rolled in everyday as they cannot take the heavy rain and wind of a typical S Florida thunderstorm. What? So I have to always stay at home to watch out for my awning… are you kidding me? Or I should only roll it out when I’m at home and roll it in every evening? And when we checked into what the Florida Building Code requirements are specifically for retractable awnings, Rolling Shield’s awnings are NOT Florida building code approved. Also, their warranty on their awnings isn’t as good as we found with other companies… I guess that makes sense since their awnings probably won’t hold up for more than 5 – 10 years anyhow. Might as well get a nice large umbrella from Home Depot or online for $ 400 then. The company may be okay with other shades, shutters and such, but be careful of these companies that claim to be a «1-stop shop.» UPDATE12÷4÷15 — in response to Krystal C. from Rolling Shield’s comments: 1) So your company sells and installs retractable awnings that are NOT Florida Building Code approved(to withstand 115MPH3-sec wind gusts while the awning is fully open and extended as per the 2014 Florida Building Code Requirements on Retractable Awnings — which we verified with the Florida Building Commission in Tallahassee, FL) and hence, ILLEGAL for a homeowner to install on their home in the state of FL? 2) The Florida Building Commission told us that EVERY City and Municipality in the State of Florida MUST adhere to every detail and requirement of the 2014 Florida Building Code; cities don’t have their own lesser requirements… they adhere to the FL Building Code. And Retractable Awnings, although not«permanent,» still must pass their code specifically for retractable awnings! 3) From what others have told us, powder coating is cheap and doesn’t hold up in the harsh, S. Florida conditions; it tends to flake off over time. We have seen other products that are PVC coated, painted & baked on multiple times and lasts 20 years or more! 4) What’s the point in having a retractable awning(with a motor and wind sensor) on your home here in South Florida if you cannot leave it open because it can get damaged or fully broken by heavy rain or strong winds? We have strong thunderstorms with heavy downpours and winds of 40+MPH all the time here throughout the year! Sorry, but I don’t get why your company would offer a product that costs thousands of dollars more than an UMBRELLA but has no real advantages over a $ 100 umbrella??? Might as well just buy a much cheaper umbrella and use that when you want a little shade. Caveat Emptor, People! We cannot speak about their roll-down hurricane shutters, but certainly their retractable awnings are NOT up to par with Florida requirements and it appears they’re no experts on retractable awnings! Stay away!!!

We got our hurricane shields done through them. Most of them are accordion style. They have a nice showroom, and the staff is very friendly and professional, and gives advice without trying to push you one way or another. Their price seems reasonable compare to our other quotes. The installers came to do the work at the appointed time and were all experienced professionals. Now we go back a year later when we want to replace our shades. We were shown their workshop, shown swatches so we can pick our shades to match our walls. Again, professional, friendly service, a totally enjoyable experience.
