Stumbled upon this fruit stand at Jack London Square. It was poppin’ with lots of people in line for samples of stone fruit! They have a couple of hybrids: 3-in-1 apricot, plum, peach and a plum+cherry fruit. They also have almonds of various flavors and style. The fruit is only $ 1/lb., which is much cheaper than the ones at Grand Lake farmer’s market. The service was friendly and fast.

If you get just one thing from here make it the Raspberry Honey Almonds. Honestly they are so good! Probably not all that healthy after being covered in the flavoring but they do still make a great high in Protein snack, just don’t eat too many. These guy’s regularly have a stall at the Livermore Farmers Market on Thursday’s and have free samples of the Nuts. They also have an Almond Butter which is great good too and a jar doesn’t last much longer than 2 weeks in my house. The owners are friendly too.

Discovered stackhouse brothers at the Santa Cruz farmers market. I bought a bag of honey orange almonds — they taste as good as any sweet snack except actually better, organic, and better for you . I called to place an order for my out of state friend and the lady who answered the phone was so sweet and told me that it’d b cheaper to wait until Wednesday and go back to the farmers market to get them, since they’ve been selling for thirty years ! Not many places will tell you that, I was impressed and appreciative . Can’t wait to try new flavors Wednesday . I wish I had the recipe, but I could probably never duplicate what they do . The woman I spoke with also kindly offered to send me brochures and when I gave me my address, informed me they were in my exact city through late summer. Awesome customer service, right on par with their products :) thank you !

Why didn’t I buy 10 bags of Jumbo Nectarines? Bought them at Seattle’s Pike’s market after a sample… Sooo delicious. Tart and hearty, not super sugary like most other dried fruit. I will be ordering more quickly because I’m sure I’ll eat this bag by morning.

Stackhouse Bros. dried apricots are a staple of my existence. Wherever I’m living, I order them by mail, 10 bags at a time. The world’s best dried apricots, no doubt about it.

So… I just bought 3 bags of flavored almonds(spicy sprouted, jalepeno cheddar, and Orange honey) at the Farmers Market in Monterey. They are all delicious! I wish I bought more.

We visited the Stackhouse Orchards booth at the Pacific Grove farmer’s market. Orange Honey almonds are fantastic! Try a sample, you’ll definitely go home with a bag. They are SO good!

Best nuts ever! Although, I have never been to Hickman to visit Stackhouse Bros Orchards, they do come to the Farmers Market every Wednesday in Downtown Santa Cruz. The past two times I have been to the Farmers Market, I made sure to visit Stackhouse Bros Orchard’s tent because they sell the best tasting almonds ever! The almonds are pretty pricey, $ 6 for a full bag and $ 3 for half. I go with the full bag every time and get the Raspberry Honey Almonds. My fave! Too addicting to eat and super crunchy, just the way I like it. I like the fact that they offer a good amount of almond flavors that are really unique! I don’t think I have ever come across almonds in flavors of Cajun, Orange Honey Almonds, Cinnamon, Wasabi… etc. Seeing all these flavors makes me want to buy all of them… but I stick to my regular Raspberry flavored ones. Can’t get over how good these almonds are!

Living in the Bay Area, I’ve never been to Hickman nor even near Modesto. However, during several work trips to Seattle, the name popped up on my radar. At the Pike’s Market farmer’s market area, my annual purchase of nuts, mainly roasted almonds, brought this about. The Seattle person said that they also sell their nuts in Jack London Square, but haven’t tried it yet. Seasoning them with a variety of flavors such as Hickory smoked or Wasabi, my personal favorite is the Cajun Spice Almonds. Have a glass or water or milk handy to wash them down as it can get quite spicy. Not sure what you’ll find when you drive there, but my picture shows what I hope to see.
