A surprisingly well-stocked motorcycle shop in Hicksville, Long Island of all places. Honestly the fact that this place exists here is amazing and I’m sure it will be out of business soon even though it is the only one of it’s kind within 100 miles in all directions. Cycle Gear just haven’t mastered the motorcycle accessory business model of selling both motorcycle things and cold-brewed coffee. This is readily apparent as soon as you walk in and are confronted with a garish pile of tires where there should be a coffee-bean roaster. Also, staff could be less attentive and helpful and instead be dicks if Cycle Gear wants to play with the big boys and stay in business.

Amazing company and store. If you have any issues, they’re very very helpful and will exchange stuff no questions asked. Mostly always stocked with everything they advertise and sell. Buy a lot of things from them, Def. RECOMMEND.

Cycle gear is probably one on a few stores in New York that carry a decent amount of motorcycle gear. Prices were fair, they have a good selection of different brands but unfortunately their selection of women’s gear is very poor.

I’m so glad this Cycle Gear opened… I guess almost 2 years ago now. I first became acquainted with CG a few years back when their nearest location was in Edison, NJ, about 40 miles and any variation of bridges, tunnels and some of the worst traffic in the country from the NYC/Long Island area. I remember at that time, I reached out to corporate and suggested the take a serious look at expanding through the New York area, because believe it or not there are A LOT of riders here. For the most part, when us NY riders need gear and accessories, we have no choice but to go to one of the local dealers, many of which suck, charge high markups and never have anything you actually need in stock, or order online which of course tends to present its own problems. So for those reasons a brick and mortar store like Cycle Gear is important. Back then, the response was that they had no plans to award any franchises in NY or anywhere else in the region. However, I guess they had an epiphany because here we are with the Hicksville store, one soon to be opening in White Plains, and a few others if I’m not mistaken. All Cycle Gears tend to be well stocked, and this one is no exception. The location is also great, and this one is literally up the street from Long Island Kawasaki/Yamaha. True, they try mainly to push their BiLT and Sedici house brands, so that’s mostly what’s stocked in store. I’m a pretty die hard Icon Motosports guy, but I’ve been watching the BiLT stuff pretty closely, and it seems decent enough for the price, so I’ll be trying a few odds and ends going forward. But if you do want another brand, Joe Rocket, Alpinestars, Dainese, etc, they carry it all in their catalog, so just place an order. Odds are they have what you need, but if not you can always get free shipping to the store in a couple of days or so. No waiting patiently for FedEx to ghost deliver your stuff, then having to make a trip to the warehouse. So you have a cool store, great customer service, regular bike nights with food and prizes, and a great location. Cycle Gear is pretty much all you need my fellow NYC/Long Island riders. Come check this place out if you haven’t yet!

As I approached Cycle Gear two things stood out to me initially. The currently vacant space Cycle Gear is soon to occupy and the varying bikes in the lot. From souped up street bikes to enduro’s, dirt bikes and cruisers. A DJ was playing music in the parking lot, additionally there was a vendor offering classes for Motorcycle for Beginners. A two day training class of riding and basic maintenance. Inside I was properly and professionally greeted, trays of quesadillas, rolled tacos and nachos were set upon a table, with soda and give aways as well. As I was looking at their massive assortment of helmets, the staff explained every unique detail of every helmet I inquired about. So knowledgeable were they, I could not imagine purchasing elsewhere as they were so generous with their time considering the store was busy. Huge inventory of motorcycle gear, replacement and add on parts all well displayed and all extremely reasonable in terms of price.

Clean, well stocked, reasonably priced and very lenient return policies plus exclusive budget clothing line and soft goods brand«Bilt» and the pricier but better made Sedici which carries a lifetime guarantee. Also– great website with online reviews of product. I would almost deduct one star for the short weekday hours but they’re open Sundays! Worth the trip!

Although it’s location is a little skewed when you’re on 106/107, this little shop offers some of the most comprehensive collection of riding gear on Long Island. I love the fact that they carry world renowned brands like Dainese, Alpinestars, Arai, AGV, Fox, Shoei, Icon, Sidi as well as many others to meet everyone’s riding and budget needs. Another big plus is the fact that the staff is very knowledgeable in the items and parts they sell. I also love the fact they always have some great offers /deep discounted items on sale on a weekly and monthly basis. I rarely ever walk out empty handed. If you’re looking for gear, parts, or accessories stop by Cycle Gear in Hicksville and check these guys out.
