I have been Going to this place for a long time now. Food is always fresh and yummy. And their prices are really good too. This place is cheaper than other similar places, like bengali sweets. Love their chai and samosa. People u have to try their SAMOSASS. Staff is friendly also. It’s like a self serve here, but mostly I get my food to go. Service is fast also. It’s a pure vegetarian place. Not a big fan of their Sweets but do love the pinni and kaju katli. They also sell namkeens, and fresh snacks. Do recommend this place.

I have been coming to Ras Raj for many years and it just gets better and better. I take out often and am never disappointed. The masala dosas, chickpeas, dal, palak paner, and breads are terrific and the okra I ordered yesterday is the best I have ever had anywhere! It is my favorite place for vegetarian take-out Indian food and the staff is friendly and helpful. You can eat in but the dining area is very basic.

Southern Indian = 100% vegetarian = I’m there. I love the food here. I don’t know what anything’s called, so I feel/am quite ignorant, but the taste is phenomenal. Everything I’ve had was so good. I’ve brought a few people here for their first Indian food experience and even the hesitant one’s though it was damn good. I haven’t tried many other Indian places, but of the 2 – 3 others I have tried, this one’s my favorite.

Their chaat is usually very fresh and tasty. Pakoras are pre-made then warmed up when you arrive… not sure how far in advance they make them. The mithai has always been rotten in my experience. This time, I decided to give it one last try and asked for one piece to try(before purchasing a pound) and reluctantly, the man behind the counter asked, can I give you a pound? 2 pounds? before I even took a bite… After tasting the hard, dry gulab jamun, it was quite obvious the mithai was not fresh – he charged me $ 1.00 for the rotten mithai and told me it’s usually $ 2.49 per piece… the price states $ 7.99/pound. It does not matter whether you buy 100 pounds or 1⁄10 of a pound, the price stays the same. And if they would like it to be otherwise, they need to post it. Not the greatest customer service and they never put on the heat in the winter so it’s FREEZING!

Rasraj is one of the oldest Indian restaurants in Hicksville. The food they serve is delicious. I occasionally get take out from them over the weekdays. They have very good variety of sweets also. Their staff is always friendly to me.

Have to agree with the past reviewer — it has become waaaaaaay too salty. Won’t be coming back.
