My intention was to grab a bite to eat at Chick-Fil-A, but after seeing the ridiculously long drive-thru line that about wrapped around the building twice(this. on a Monday night. at 8pm), I opted for Tropical Smoothie Café which is located across the road. I ordered a turkey bacon ranch sandwich«meal»(if you can even call it that) that came with one side item. Side item options include a small kale and apple salad, «fruit medley» cup, a piece of whole fruit, or a bag of chips. I chose the fruit cup. WRONG. CHOICE. The fruit cup was a mushy, soggy mess made up of old, withered pieces of fruit. «Medley» is a stretch for what it was. There were two triangles of an apple mixed in with pieces of what I think were once pineapples. Had I eaten the fruit cup… there were maybe, MAYBE two spoonfuls in the container. I should have went with the bag of chips. The sandwich, while good, was ludicrously small. The ciabatta bread was delicious and the turkey was wonderfully moist. I just wished there was more of it to enjoy. Since«meals» don’t come with drinks, I ordered a Sunrise Sunset smoothie which was a blend of strawberries, pineapple, mango, and orange juice. The smoothie was refreshing, delectable, and nicely blended. All smoothies are 24 oz and cost around 5 bucks which isn’t a bad deal. In summary, I spent around $ 11 for my meal. It’s a better deal just to get the sandwich or wrap alone, which is often not the case at other places. Skip the sides items. Try their smoothies. Fin.

This is my favorite place to go! I love how clean & bright it is. The employees seem to love their jobs. I love all their smoothies & yummy food. They are healthy and delicious. My favorite is totally green detox smoothie. I can taste the kale, spinach and ginger! So healthy! Go in and try one. You won’t be sorry.

Great smoothies and they have food as well but I’ve never tired it. Do be prepared to wait a bit if you’re going through the drive thru.

Great smoothies but be prepared to wait forever for it! How long can it take to make a smoothie?

Smoothies are good. Service inside is slow. I understand making smoothies takes time, however if I’m the second person in line I don’t believe that I should have to wait 11mins. I have been here multiple times. Not extremely impressed.

I remade my Unilocal app today just to write the review for this. Great smoothies. Yet, not worth the wait in the drive thru. I have waited 15 minutes in the drive thru line the past two times, and the first time I had to leave because the wait was so long. Any place with a drive thru should have cars through within minutes, not twenty. And I’ve seen multiple cars leave the line also because of the wait. AWFUL wait most of the time. Consider speeding it up quite a bit.

These other people are idiots. Great place. Unilocal has no credibility because of consumers like these. Did they really even go!!! Morons.

So I waited to write my record until after I have been here a few times and tried a few items. The food is great, although mildly overpriced in my opinion(mostly the salads for the size are overpriced in my opinion). It’s always fresh tasting and I haven’t eaten anything I didn’t like here. I’ve stuck to the fruit smoothies because I’m not one for indulgent-milkshake-flavory style smoothies. They have all been great and as far as smoothies go, they are a good price for the size(Juice Shop style and size… Nothing beats the Juice Shop for me, but this is a close second and gives me a smoothie option without driving to Greensboro or WS). Now if I were to stop my review here I would give it 4 or maybe even 5 stars. However, my #1 issue is with the drive through service. It is SO hit or miss. Some days it’s quick, friendly and fine and other it is SO slow. I mean like crazy slow. Today for example, there was one car in front of me and I sat in line for 25 minutes. I expected the car in front of me to have a large order but instead they had a smoothie and half a sandwich. That’s it. So then I expect to pull up and my order ready to go. I got my smoothie right away but my salad took another almost 10 mins. This is not the first time I have experienced this either. It’s about a 50⁄50 shoot one drive thru service and I really wish some changes would be made here(either hire more people to help or give your drive thru staff a little talk on how to quickly move the drive thru line).

I was eager to see what this place was all about. I totally didn’t expect them to have food… and good looking food at that! I just stopped in for a smoothie after dinner. This place has smoothies that actually won’t totally wreck a diet. I think that is a cool concept and they seem to do it well. They do have a spot on the drink menu called«indulgent smoothies» which are the not-so-great ones for you… which of course I ordered from! I got the Beach Bum which has strawberry, banana, and chocolate. For those who aren’t aware, you should definitely expect smoothies to be a lot more«light» than a milkshake. Smoothies are ice & fruit based instead of ice cream and milk. This smoothie had good flavor and the ingredients were well blended. I was intrigued by this place’s menu and will be back to try some of the tacos that were advertised(cilantro lime fish or Korean BBQ sound amazing).

The wife and I decided to try this place out, as we are big on deserts and saw this recently opened. Everyone was polite and the restaurant was clean, but abit cramped with only a few people. I ordered the peanut butter cup smoothie and was immediately let down on the first sip. The ingredients listed for this are peanut butter, banana, and chocolate. All I tasted was banana, with a hint, and I mean a small hint, of chocolate. I couldn’t taste any peanut butter. Now when it comes to peanut butter, I’ll have it on near everything. I can’t fathom why you would name something peanut butter cup if you can’t taste it. If it were named chocolate banana or something it’d be a much better representation of the final product. And I wouldn’t have ordered it. I may return to try a different flavor, it’s up to how my sweet tooth is feeling at the time.

Excellent food and smoothies, especially for the money. Had the Thai chicken wrap and it was light, fresh with big flavors. With my wife and 2 kids and everybody really liked it. Will definitely come back!

I had a peanut butter cup smoothie and it was disgusting. All it tasted like was smashed bananas. I actually threw it away and it cost $ 5.00. Too expensive for a drink. Maybe a fruit flavor would be better but I’m not willing to risk another $ 5.00.

Love this place and love the concept however the staff really do need more training! For example today we went and ordered the Mocha Madness which we have several times before but this time they asked us if we wanted regular or decaf coffee which they never did the previous times. I would have given this a five star review but I firmly believe this place can do better. Hence train your people!

I wanted something light today for lunch so I popped in to Tropical Smoothie Café. It is in the old Bruesters location at the palladium in High Point. The outside has patio seating and a drive thru. Inside they have minimal seating. The menu offers a variety of sandwiches and flatbreads along with smoothies and a few side items. There is also a small breakfast sandwich menu. Prices are good averaging $ 4 – 6 for sandwiches and $ 2−4ish for smoothies. I ordered a half sandwich and a smoothie combo. It was very delicious. I ordered for my sandwich a chicken salad with cranberries and pecans and apples on a grain bread and a avocado tropical smoothie to drink. For my daughter I ordered a peanut butter and banana flatbread. She loved it. The atmosphere was clean and contemporary. Servers were pleasant and attentive. Although this was their first official day of opening both drive thru and inside dining, I would suggest the servers be trained more on menu items. I had questions about what came in certain smoothies that the server repeatedly had to ask her superior about. Also they need to work on a better system for the line. The space is minimal behind the line and where they prepare the food and it was like each employee didn’t know their part. When I pulled up today I saw three employees outdoors having a conversation, I asked them if they were open for business and they said certainly and so I parked and made my way to the door. Upon walking up to where they were I realized they were having a very loud heated conversation. Apparently their was an issue with an employee that the managers were having to discuss. I would suggest in the future they maybe have these types of conversations in a more private location as to not deter future customers. Overall I enjoyed my first visit and do plan to return.
