Nutone

Shockingly rude service.
I went to the Nutone store in High Ridge to buy some pipe and fittings to expand the central vacuum system I got from them a few years ago. The PRIMA DONNA behind the counter was unwilling to help with anything. When I told her I needed a few parts, she slapped a parts list on the counter and asked what part NUMBERS I needed. When I asked for assistance choosing the parts I needed for my specific application, she grew impatient, saying she was «office staff» and if I wanted help, I should request a service call. Of the part numbers I gave her, she got about ²⁄₃ of them right, then wanted to blame me for her mistakes.
Things spiraled downward from there. When I could see no possible amicable consummation of business, I turned and walked out. Fortunately there are other pipe vendors in town, so I did my business elsewhere.
If the woman was competent, I may have been able to complete the business transaction in spite of her queenly attitude. If her attitude had been pleasant, I would have been patient with her incompetence.
Nutone makes a fine product. Next time I need something from them I will buy it online.
