Breaking Ink

Got my last Friday the 13^th tattoo at breaking and it was a blast they did good work. the artist was great she was very gentle

I’ve only been to a few tattoo shops over the years, but Breaking Ink has given me the best experience and quality for my money. I went in a few months ago just to see how much something would cost, and ended up getting the tattoo that same day because everything was so good. All 3 guys that work here (Nick, Rory and Mike) are excellent at what they do and you can find tons of pictures of their work on here, the store’s Facebook page and on Instagram. Each artist specializes in something different, and I’ve had two tattoos done by Rory so far. The first one was a simple jellyfish that my daughter drew– nothing that pushed his skills to the limit by any means, but he took his time preparing everything, making sure the tools and space were clean, and I appreciated that. I’ve been to two shops in Portland that basically rushed things because they had a lot of people, but that’s no excuse to rush cleanliness. My second tattoo was of baby Krishna, the Hindu god of preservation. The image, again, may not have been the most challenging thing Rory’s done, but it made it look gorgeous with fine detail put into things like the eyes and eyelashes. And for the price it cost, it’s hard to imagine going anywhere else for the same tattoo. He’s also friendly, does some great work on murals, and has recommended some stupid-​good places to eat.
I haven’t talked to Mike much but he’s a cool guy, and Nick is very educated on the things he’s into. When he saw I was getting Krishna done, he came up and talked a little about the Hindu religion, the temple down the street that practices Krishna Consciousness, and more. It was really cool to hear that.
I have nothing bad to say about the shop or the guys working there. Any bad feedback the place gets is from uppity people. I’ve been there when rude would-​be customers come in, being very vague about what they want with no examples or images for a reference, and expect the artist to automatically know what they want right down to the last detail. Even then, the guys weren’t rude to them and did their best to answer all the questions.
For sure check them out if you’re in the area.

Perfect experience. Nick did a beautiful hand drawn mandala on my arm– far beyond what I could have expected. Really great guy with a lot of talent and creativity and a keen eye for detail.

I got a 3d crochet bracelet with a complicated stitch. Nick is awesome. made it look real with a hook. managed to not cover up a cherished tat I already had but made it look like a button and a part of it. I cannot get over how much I love it

I’ve been in a couple of times to setup my appointment. I’ve seen work being done and it looks fantastic. My interactions with Nick and Andrea (at the desk in front) have been nothing short of professional and friendly. I felt that Nick really took the time to listen to what I wanted in my work and put me first, not his income, so far as to even suggest someone else (in his studio) who specializes in the work I want done. I can’t wait for next month to get inked!

Rory is new to Breaking Ink, but He has been my artist for many years. He was born and raised in Hawaii and has relocated to Oregon. Rory takes his craft very seriously. He takes the time to make sure your piece is the best it can be. He takes your design ideas and adds his expertise in location, size, shading and color so that you get the best art for your money. Rory specializes in custom work so you never have to worry that someone else will be wearing your tattoo. His pricing is more than fair and affordable. You can’t go wrong

Nick is truly amazing! I love my new tattoo — it is truly a work of art. The customer service at this shop is top notch! Nick was so patient and just great to work with. And the finished tattoo takes my breath away. I have already scheduled my next appointment. :)

So after checking out a few other shops I picked Breaking Ink. I didn’t get the chance to meet Nick but Jason was my first impression with this shop. Good group of people. The fact that each tattoo shop made me feel a little unwelcome Breaking Ink was the first one that took customer service as a role. Don’t worry if you walk in and they are working on someone, they want to talk about you and your tattoo plans too. Nick and Jason both have their own styles they specialize in so take your time to talk to them. Their portfolios where very expansive and in depth. The shop was very clean and the clientele that came through where respectable. I will be going back to get the rest of my work done with Jason.

Had a great experience getting tattooed here Nick was very patient and polite while tattooing me and the work was amazing I would recommend this to all of my friends!

Wonderful people there. I got a Marilyn Monroe face shot & her signature on my shoulder from Abraham. Wonderful work done. Loved the guys that where there & their front receptionist. Funny & respectful. I’d recommend them any day of the week.

Nick does great work! I have two tattoos that I absolutely love by him! I don’t go anywhere else! The space is nice too! Easy to find and easy parking… I drive all the way from the Woodstock neighborhood to see him (it’s about a forty-​five minute drive).
