I love the orange chicken here and the teriyaki isn’t bad either. The wife and kids like the katsu, but I’m not a fan of that one. The mac salad is ok as well.

Hawaiian Kine has the best orange chicken in town — crunchy and delicious. I also recommend the Uncle Biggie and Maui Girl plates. Large portions are easily enough for two kids to share, if not two adults. Also, I don’t usually like macaroni salad but Kine’s is really good.

My husband and I went back tonight about an hour before they closed. He ordered the Garlic Chicken, I ordered the Big Elima. Mine was good, his however, was nothing like the picture. He got less than a standard 1 cup measuring cup of chicken, which was over rice, with a side of rice… for $ 9.00. He called and complained, they said if he came in with my debit card the same night(which at that point it was 25 minutes to closing), they would refund him. So we got in the car, they called back and asked us to bring the food(I had told him to do that anyway, but they hadn’t initially asked, so he had left it), luckily we were still in our neighborhood so we went and got the food, drove to Hawaiian Kine and showed them the food. They didn’t offer to remake it, they just asked if we would prefer cash or to have the refund on the debit card. As we were walking out the door the young man shouted«sorry». I’m very underwhelmed by this place. Time to find a new place for Katsu and macaroni salad.

Do not eat here! The food is below average, and over priced. The seating area is very unclean and not somewhere you want to eat at. The people who work here are nice but the food is garbage.

I wouldn’t even give it one star if the lady at the counter wasn’t pleasant. This place is garbage! We tried four different plates to see what we’d like and come back for. Chicken katsu not seasoned and over fried, rice dry, mac salad gross, loco moco dried out, gravy from a packet, kahlua DRY, BBQ chicken had no taste and to top it off the restaurant is filthy. There’s no Hawaiian no Kine and no BBQ about this place. I know I’m in Oregon, but if your gonna make island food then make the dam hell out of it. Couldn’t even been a low grade Hawaiian place either. If you know what Hawaiian food supposed to taste like don’t come here.

Meh! Chicken thighs not chicken breast, the veggies tasted like they were from a bag– not fresh. The most redeeming part of the meal was the macaroni salad. It’s a step up from McDonald’s, kinda.

Sadly disappointed by Hawaiian food. Chicken wasn’t fresh and food didn’t have any real taste.

I would frequent this place a lot when it opened up originally as a L&L Barbecue back sometime early 2000s. Since L&L is a franchise name the owner of this place supposedly couldn’t keep up with it and jumped ship. Someone else who worked there stepped up and took over and renamed it Hawaiian Kine BBQ. For several years the food was pretty awesome and kept up the L&L flavors. Plus they offered a good variety of combos. Then that guy eventually jumped ship too and now new ownership commences. The food is now decent and I only frequent the place when I’m having a HUGE craving and don’t want to drive all the way to beaverton for L&L or Roxy’s(I live 5 minutes away from Hawaiian Kine). Before the newest owner ship Hawaiian Kine used to serve pretty good local style breakfasts, now they don’t and I get weird looks when I ask about it now. This isn’t bad at all, just that the food quality isn’t up to par as it used to be. It’s not bad, but not super good either.

I am from Alaska and I swear, the stork dropped me off on the wrong island in the Pacific Ocean! I should’ve been Hawaiian. I love everything about Hawaiian living, food and culture. Alas, I have somehow ended up in Hillsboro… At least I have Hawaiian eats in my neighborhood! Hawaiian Kine Bar-B Q is our go-to for those nights where cooking just seems impossible(so like, at least once per week!). With an extra order of rice, my husband, two-year old and I can easily share one of their combination platters. Everything we’ve had here has been on-point. As a major fan of mac salad, their’s definitely rates high. Insider tip: If it’s busy, order your food and then step into Fred Meyers to pick up a few groceries. Beats waiting around.

Here’s one more thing that’s wrong with America. People go out of their way for Panda Express when for basically the same price, they could go to a great Hawaiian BBQ restaurant that serves you real meat and better portions. This place is delicious, their macaroni salad is on point, and they even have a variety of Hawaiian juices stocked in their fridge. Makes the lunch hour a thing of glory. I actually feel good about myself after I eat this(or certainly not worse), and the people who work here are really kind! Keep up the good service! I like America as much as the next Millennial, but we all have our problems.

I used to live near by years ago this is my all time favorite hawiian food place so only 4 stars was slightly disappointed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and with the employee behind the counter taking orders I’m more than positive he was high out of his mind which made for bad customer service for this employee plus the friends he was visiting with being more important than customers but the FOOD was as amazing as ever! I will be stopping again on my next visit to my home now mohala!

When I really need a Hawaiian fix, when I’m really craving some Spam Musabi, I’ll rock on up in here and get my fix. It’s not the very best Hawaiian food in town(see Roxy’s on Walker!), but it’s definitely not bad. They do have a wide variety of options to choose from, and multiple combo meals. I like that you can get a «mini» size entrée or regular — the mini is definitely enough for a normal appetite, where regular is more than I should eat in one sitting… but I sometimes do it anyway. Don’t tell. I do find it strange that they don’t have teriyaki chicken, but the BBQ chicken hits the spot. The mac salad is good. Service is always authentic aloha, and while it’s not super fast to get your food, at least you know they’re cooking it up fresh for you.

The chicken katsu curry was perfectly fine, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Then again, it wasn’t bad by any means, and the price was perfectly reasonable for what I got. The curry tasted store bought, but it was prepared piping hot fresh, and the chicken was more breading than meat. The mac was pretty good, however. Again, overall, meh.

This place used to be amazing. They went from amazing to bad. But now they are getting better. I find myself coming back more often now. It takes about 15 minutes to get your food, so I always order over the phone.

This is a pretty average Hawaiian food joint, located in the same lot as Fred Meyers on TV Highway. The menu is pretty standard, with chicken katsu, loco moco, kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, etc. They have pictures of the food on the wall to help you decide. The Loco Moco was good, it was a nice meat-to-rice ratio. However, the spam musubi was put together pretty sloppy. Overall, decent for your Island cravings if you’re in the area.
