I went here with my family and they easily accommodated seven of us. The service is so sweet and prompt, and I felt very charmed by the atmosphere and décor. There was nothing we ordered that wasn’t absolutely delicious. It was hard not to fill up on all the different kinds of appetizers we tried. I’m not a connoisseur of Mediterranean food, but I’ve had it often enough to know I don’t always love it. No disappointments here! I grew up in Hillsboro and am delighted that such a wonderful restaurant has taken root. I can’t wait to go back on my next visit.

This restaurant seems out of place in New Hampshire as the area is not that diverse and very rural. Nonetheless, it’s one of the best restaurants around and would do well in just about any place, big city or rural. The Turkish or Mediterranean food is just outstanding. The lavash bread is yummy, fresh, and the signature start of a terrific meal. The appetizers are good as well as the entrees. The rice and chicken in particular were very tasty.

This is best in class with one exception(read on…) Wonderful, proud owners and staff. They believe in their food and their culture. Warm and inviting. The appetizer plate is extraordinary and represents the approach taken across the board. The Lavash bread is a must. It is a delicious, steamy pillow. Main courses are well presented and accompanied with a great house-made rice, pickled onions, and cabbage slaw. You will eat it all! Although the chicken and lamb dishes were outstanding, the Falafel was even a notch higher. The house Pinot Noir was unexpectedly good. And the one quibble: the atmosphere needs a bit of help. The tables and chairs are«House O’ Pizza» grade and not very comfortable. The napery and table settings could also use an upgrade. The quality of food and service is «big night out» quality. I hope the owners can establish some upgrades to the overall experience as the restaurant gets better attended and more profitable. Never underestimate Hillsborough. There have been some surprisingly good businesses in this little village.

After living in Hillsborough for a year, we finally decided to try Mediterrano. Boy were we surprised at how excellent this experience was! We were greeted by pleasant and accommodating staff, very willing to make us feel welcome. The gentleman host actually offered what feels like an added touch of detail after finding out this was our first time at the restaurant. Out in the front entry was a sign proclaiming homemade yogurt — great start! First course: the appetizer platter. Each of the four included appetizer samples were, hands down, amazing. The hummus was very flavorful, creamy, and pleasantly light in flavor and texture. The stuffed grape leaves were perfect. They weren’t bitter from overcooking and the stuffing was flavorful. The babaganoush was so pleasantly smokey. And the Mediterranean salsa had a nice acidity and slight spice that punched just enough balance to the rest of the dish. The lavash bread is a must with any of the appetizers to scoop them up with. What an awesome start to the flavor parade. For entrées, my girlfriend had the falafel plate and I had the adana lamb kebab plate. Just the aroma from the plate had us salavating at the thought of what was to come. The falafel was light and airy. I’ve had falafel in the past that was very dense and heavy. Not these nuggets. They were delicious with a perfectly mild tahini sauce over rice. They also had very distinct spice flavors that were pronounced but not overpowering. My kebab plate was aromatic and flavorful. I was attracted to the menu item because it was described as «authentic.» This is a tasty lamb dish without the gameyness of typical lamb dishes I’ve had in the past. This was truly an exceptional meal and wonderful experience all around. I won’t mention cost here as, in my opinion, exceptional food and service are worth a few extra dollars. This was a memorable meal in an unlikely location. I highly recommend the trip for anyone in the region or passing through. Plan ahead and stop here. Make a point of it.

One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had! And this is repeated each time we go. Service is across-the-board excellent. Food is to-die-for, and some of the best in the entire region, and definitely in the state. Authentic Turkish recipes cooked by authentic Turkish family. The standards are extremely high, the attention to detail and personalized service is a breath of fresh air. We asked them why they decided to set up in Hillsborough of all places(seeing that they could easily set up in New York and do well.) They said very simply, something like«People will drive to experience this.» And they are absolutely right! They love their culture and are very happy to talk about the decorative Turkish plates and artwork in the restaurant. Top notch experience, every time!
