It’s fine for my routine eye exam and glasses needs. I don’t have particular eye health issues, just need correction with updated prescription every 1 – 2 years. Folks were friendly enough and the selection was fine, I found something I liked. One issue I would caution others about is some subtle high-pressure sales tactics. I was advised to get a photo of the back of my eye instead of getting my eyes dilated. While I was seated at the photo machine starting the process, we continued to discuss and he told me insurance doesn’t cover it. Why is that? «Because it isn’t medically necessary.» Wait, so why am I getting a procedure that isn’t medically necessary? «Sometimes you find things.» I was already in the process of doing it, but really I shouldn’t have. I’d liken it to getting a CT scan(cat scan) just to see what’s there, even if you are healthy and have no symptoms to suggest that you need it. Some people like to do that, but really it’s a waste of medical resources and more likely to do harm than good. $ 40 really for nothing. Also, when I was ordering my glasses, in all the 30 years of wearing glasses I’ve never been to place that automatically chooses and prices the most expensive lenses for you. I was not asked what type of lenses I wanted(the thinner more expensive kind, or the normal kind? anti-glare coating or normal? etc), I was not given any options, just told, «This is what your lenses come to. It includes the thinner lenses with anti-glare coat.» I usually do opt for these lenses, but they didn’t know that, and I didn’t appreciate not being given options. Lastly, I was not provided my prescriptions when I left. When I got home I went to price out contact lenses online to compare the quote I got from them, and looked through the paperwork to see that all that I had was an itemized receipt, no prescription. I was surprised to discover that I could get my contacts for $ 45/box of 90 online compared to the $ 130/box of 90 I was quoted through them. My glasses are supposed to take 2 weeks. Hopefully no issues with the glasses when they come in. Overall, as I said, fine for my needs given the convenience factor, but next time I’ll be aware of the sales tactics and more prepared.

$ 1,030.00 for an eye exam and their cheapest pair of glasses!!! They are helpful but REALLY? $ 800 for a 15 minute EYEEXAM !!! Ever wonder why insurance premiums are so high? This is why. The same exam at Wal-Mart eye center is $ 90 There are no prices anywhere posted for these costs OMG, I feel ill and violated. What a group of thieves. They seem to find out what your insurance is willing to pay an max out all the charges. Update: 11-30-2015 The new glasses were picked up 5 days ago and are already falling apart!!! One of the side pieces has fallen off and now these will either be replaced at Triangle Visions cost or be thrown in a drawer.
