Coconutz Sports Bar

Photos looked promising but this is your typical resort restaurant onsite. Fake old look art package. Tvs placed so pool table players block you. Service was ok but disorganized. Then came the karaōke which ruined the rest of the experience.

Very good. Service was fast and friendly. Wings were amazing. Potato skins were awesome… a lot of potato and crispy skins. And my margarita was perfect. Definitely a sports bar. Tons of TV’s. I’d go back for sure.

My name is Eric Johnson and this is by far the best Sports Bar in all of Beaufort County! In addition, the best bartender in all of Beaufort County works here, and she normally takes awesome care of me each and every time I come here. Her name is Tanya. But, don’t only come to the best Sports Bar for the best service with value added, but also come here for the unbelievable food with prices that absolutely can’t be beat anywhere else! I highly recommend this Sports Bar to anyone who is from South Carolina and for those who might be visiting South Carolina as well!

I’m on vacation in Hilton Head and staying with a friend, so you’re probably wondering how the hell I ended up at a tiny bar inside a tennis resort. It was my friend’s fault actually, but it was quite all right with me. I needed something pretty chill on the first night of visiting after driving for 12 hours, and this place wasn’t crazy, and it was easy to get a drink. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially the bartender.
My friend was there to play some pool, and like me, she had never been there before despite living on the island. The place has two pool tables right in the center, with a surrounding wall separating them from the tables on the outside. You can also go out to a deck, but I’m not sure if they serve food out there or not. The seats outside on the deck over look a nice pond which was very relaxing. She didn’t like the tables, and they did look a bit rough, but I didn’t get to play on them.
The food was your standard bar food. We ended up getting wings, pork nachos, and chili cheese fries. Everything was pretty average. Not great. Not terrible. Don’t expect to be ‘wow’ed here.
If you’re staying at the hotel (Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort), it’s definitely a nice little spot to grab a drink without having to head out into the mêlée of the Southern half of Hilton Head. It’s a great place to play some pool or darts, grab a drink, and relax.

I was dining in with my girlfriend and we arrived around 7:45PM on a sunday, but had not received food until 9:10PM. We were notified our orders had never been put in and we needed to tell them again what we wanted. This was strange especially since our appetizers and the table next to us got their appetizers as well. The manager came and spoke to us regarding the issue and we were understanding about the situation and that we still wanted our food. When it came time to settle the bill we were charged for the full amount of the check even though we had to wait over an hour for our food!!! In the spirit of good customer service, and every other restaurant I have visited I would have assumed they would have automatically deducted some amount from the bill and not be puzzled about it when I brought it up. After explaining to the manager the situation she eventually said she would offer a 20% discount. Which she offered a little over 12% instead…
Now for the food. I’m not sure if this is because they rushed the order or not but it was not anything special. Even though the food was rushed it was not served hot for some reason. Would I visit again? If and only if the manager that was on duty took some hospitality training, she handled this situation poorly.

Arrived at 6pm. Lots of full tables holding menus only. Observed one waiter. Elected to sit at bar. Very somber atmosphere. Bar Tender seemed stress and was, not seemed, very rude. We left.

Liked the fish tacos and Philly cheese steak. Rest of food, especially daily grouper special, was a bit average or bland. Atomic wings not that hot, but tasty.
Liked the pool table availability and price.
Waitress must have been ‘in the weeds’ because she was stressed and a bit rude from the beginning.
Would return, but not for the service. Food was good value for the money.

We stayed at the resort so decided to check out the restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised at just how good the food was. First night we had pizza. Second night we had homemade potato chips, fried shrimp, and hamburger. The chips and shrimp were so good we had to come back a third night for both again. Never had any fried shrimp that was better.

Arrived at 6:10 PM on a Friday. The restaurant was almost empty. First drink came relatively quickly. However, it took 35 minutes to get a second drink. It is now 7:40 PM and we still do not have our food. Simple order, nothing complicated! I saw that some people have already left. Just couldn’t stand the wait, I guess. And the restaurant is still half empty! Absolutely terrible service. UPDATE: We found out that it was our waiter’s second day on the job. It is really not his fault. Another member of the wait staff apologized to us, bought us a drink and was very sweet. The manager, however, stood around, did not help his staff, and did not even apologize to us and the other patrons who were waiting so long. Total time for dinner: 2:45.

What a great experience. We ended up here because our original choice was closed. I’m so glad things worked out the way they did.
The friendly, attentive staff made our meal very enjoyable. We got the steamed oyster bucket and the fish and fries. Split it all 3-​ways, and it was more than enough. I had never done fresh oysters before, and the server was very helpful in showing how to shuck oysters.
Our next trip to the island will definitely include a visit to Coconutz.

This is my second time at HHI and my second time here! Great appetizers and the happy hour drinks are good and strong too only needed one lol. We got the loaded potato fries and the fried calamari this time both were excellent except the calamari tentacles were a little rough but still delicious! Plus we got a pizza to go bit that’s another review at the place next door :)

Nice place to have a drink, bartenders are friendly. Glad kids are not allowed after 10 so you can have a drink in peace. Nothing more annoying than the screaming kids during Happy Hours.

It is in a «family» resort they should inform you before hand that kids are thrown out at 10!!! They have karaōke night and half the kids never got a chance after family’s spend over $ 100 there waiting! Not impressed with no warning! Till 10pm!!!

Great food but a little bit of a wait. Make sure to be here before 10. Casual family place with pool tables

Came to HHI with some friends for a weeklong getaway from up north. The first night in town we headed over to Coconutz for a couple drinks and some dinner. We chose the place based on the fact that it was well within walking distance.
When we walked inside, I immediately felt at home in the casual atmosphere and right through the threshold, you could tell how friendly everyone was!
The drinks were strong and the portions generous. Everything you could want in a restaurant and bar. The BLT salad was huge and delicious, but make sure to treat yourself to some «loaded fries»!
We did check out other restaurants in the area, found our way back to Coconutz several times that week’

If you’re visiting HH during football season, here is a great spot to root for your team. Plenty of TV’s showing every game of the day and you are sure to find someone on your side. Also NASCAR races on too. Great tasty pizza, loaded fries and onion rings on hand and buckets of oysters on the weekends. The bartender Dave is the greatest. If you head there, be sure to tell him hi from Linda and Mike in Maryland!
