This place is awesome ! It’s so fun to see the animals! My 5 year old went here on a field trip, and loved it!

We spend a lot of time at this farm hiking the trails with the dogs. I’ve also been to the part of the farm where they have sheep, pigs, goats, rams, cows, chickens etc. In fact, last week I even saw baby lambs.(No dogs allowed over there). It’s in a gorgeous location. The view from the top of Turkey Hill is phenomenal. We’ve signed up for a farm share this season so I will have to update my review once I start getting my weekly supply of produce and flowers. I can’t wait!

I just had an AWFUL time at this huge(850 acre) reservation. One«path» turned out to be someone’s private driveway and I ended up in their front yard. Uncomfortable. The real paths are muddy and ill kept. Norris Reservation in Norwell is smaller but MUCH better.

While we didn’t go to Weir River Farm today, let me tell you it’s worth a visit as it’s a 10 acre working farm with plenty of well-cared for animals and lots of places to walk around, things to do and learn especially if you care to do some volunteering. A group of friends and I spent a day here not long ago clearing brush. We did a good deed, had fun and got loads of exercise. The barn here is quite impressive too. The walk we took this weekend was at the adjacent Turkey Hill very early morning on this beautiful sunny Easter before heading out to be with other family. There are easily walkable trails and nice views. It was just a pleasure to be here noticing the newly greening bushes and trees and enjoying some quiet time outdoors. Hub, our dog and I all had a really energizing, pleasant morning. It was the church of the outdoors we decided to attend for our services today. I love feeling such joy at being outdoors on a great spring day. Both of these place are local properties owned by the Trustees of the Reservations. We’re lucky that there are many of these properties in these parts. I can’t urge you enough to become an annual Trustees member and support the great things they do like perserving these open and special places and spaces. There are Trustees owned properties throughout the entire Commonwealth so you’ll have plenty of places to explore, mostly for free with your card.

This place was nice for a quick Saturday morning adventure. I didn’t feel like paying $ 3 to smell farm animals, so we walked around the other areas. If you can’t park across from the barnyard, just keep going and there will be more parking on the top of the hill by a house. That is also where there are some trail entrances, and you can even cross into Whitney and Thayer Woods. There is an old Nike building at the top of the hill and you can see the Hull windmill pretty good too, along with the Boston skyline.

It’s a ten acre working farm with great views of Boston & the Harbor. Open year round from sunrise to sunset, great place for a quick walk. Turkey Hill is dog friendly but leave Fiddo home if you want to visit Weir River Farm(they’re serious about this because several doggie graves are located on the property — one had just three legs when buried, just saying). There are cows, pigs, chickens, a big boar, a llama or two. Picnic area, free parking. Like the adjacent Thayer & Whitney Woods it is located right across Rt 3A from the Greebush Line’s Cohasset Station. There’s the nearby JJ’s Dairy Stand right down the street too. Kid events:
