BEWARESTAYAWAY!!! Right out the scene of a scary movie I made a reservation last minute, it was the only place available we paid online and thought we are good with a place to stay for the night after hours of driving. We got the place completely dark and abandon. I left after that and ended up driving another 3 hours until I found another room.

DONOTSTAYHERE. We just wanted something cheap for a one night stay on the way home. Im sitting here scratching myself as I write this review. I am highly concerned about bed bugs… am not sure yet if its that or the towels they gave us that scratched my skin badly. Theres cigarette holes in the bed spread. Theres not a fitted sheet on it just a flat sheet tucked in. The worst part about this hotel… is the people staying here. They rent by the week, and people live here, not so safe looking people. I carried mace around with me the whole time. I was worried about my car. There were people pulling up and knocking on hotel doors… like theres some sort of illegal business going on. Just DONT… DONT. ps. wifi didn’t work

Some people don’t care if they sleep in a hay loft if they are with someone that they care about. I’m one of those people, but still expect semi-hygienic standards and decent customer service if money is being spent to stay in said hay loft. My girlfriend and I stayed at this motel a few weeks ago when visiting Saugatuck. May I add I am not a fancy person! Give me a nice clean bed and maybe a few towels, washcloths, hot running water, heat, air-conditioning, and… of course Wi-Fi, for the love of God, gotta stay connected and I’m good! This motel«seemed» to offer that upon entering. However, I was highly unsettled by the people that stayed there. Every time me and my lady pulled into the parking lot, some dude would be peering at a street the window… creeeeeepy! All the single ladies… You may want to avoid this place! Upon returning from our lovely day in Saugatuck the next evening to our room, we found our room had not been cleaned. Our bed had not even been made! We didn’t even get a bag of linens on our door. WTF! The do not disturb sign was not on the door. No biggie… I mean we aren’t divas! However, we do need clean towels and washcloths! We called down to get some towels. The manager was not on-duty and the person that working in the front desk was not allowed to have a key to laundry. So, she could not provide us with any sort of linens. Honestly, when I spoke to her on my cell phone… Because by the way our phone wasn’t working and had no dial tone, she seemed very nice. Here’s the real problem Unilocalers! Regardless of how inexpensive this place is, not only will it be a shit hole, but you’re gonna get really crappy customer service from management. At the end of our stay, we spoke to the manager and politely explained that our phone didn’t work, we didn’t get any clean linens, and that I our room had not been cleaned during the three days that we were there. We also mentioned that there was no way that we could make this complaint formally to management as he was not even in the building when we had these problems during the weekend. We did mention the employee’s name we had spoken to before. Not once did he actually get off of his cell phone while we’re speaking to him he just said: «Mmm-hmm.» Then he told us there was no way he could offer any sort of refund or compensation in anyway possible because we stayed for the whole time. There was no apologies. No, «thank you for letting me know the phone wasn’t working…» Just a manager on his cell phone. We were looking for a freebie. Hell, I was at least expecting some sort of lie that we would get some sort of a discount that he would not honor in the future. Yet… We did not even get an apology. Just a glare and a wave a hand to leave. Yeah. Please avoid this place like the plague… It’s bloody awful! Side note to my fellow differently abled dudes and dudettes: If you have any problem with stairs whatsoever… DONOTGOHERE! There is no elevator. The stars have rails, but the railings are old and wooden. Splinters galore. Accessible = Hell, no!

I have stayed at a lot of motels in my life, but this is the MOSTDISGUSTING, REPUGNANT motel I have ever been too. Where to begin? First of all, after asking for an extra pillow, the clerk said he would just have to switch rooms since he had no extra pillows up front. The second room he gave us smelled like urine, and made us gag. Back to another room which had: Sticky floors, hair on the sink, no fresh toilet paper roll, no plastic cups, horrible cable TV reception, cigarette smell, mop stains on the floor. Not to mention, an incredibly rude front desk clerk who preferred to be on his cell phone than help customers who had these copious complaints. Then when asked for a refund, he said he couldn’t, after he said he could earlier. We were afraid to take off our shoes there, and the bathroom was disgusting all together to even use. But there’s no way we wanted to even sit on the bed. We stayed there for about 15 minutes, and then left. I implore all of you, never EVER stay here. It damn-near made us want to throw up, and once we found a BETTER hotel in the area, we immediately had to shower. I actually feel anxious thinking about how terrible this experience was, and I constantly shook my head in disbelief at the horrible customer service and the horrendous room. ECONOLODGE /ECONOMY INN: you should be ashamed to have this hotel as one of your locations. CLOSETHISDOWN or lawsuits are certain to follow.

Oh God, the WORST. Absolutely disgusting. A while back some friends and I wanted to take a trip to Lake Michigan on a budget and this place had an insane rate so we took them up on it. I’d seen some other relatively nice Econo Lodge’s around in my day so I thought this one might be ok. Nothing fancy, or anything. But a clean bed to sleep on between trips to the beach. Biggest mistake ever. The first room we got had a horrible cigarette smell do it. I had requested non-smoking so they moved us to a new room. The second one was absolutely FILTHY. Gross vomit looking stuff on the lamp base, creepy, questionable stains on the wall, the bathroom was so filthy I was afraid to shower and never took my shoes off in the place. I honestly don’t even know how I slept in that bed. I mean, I guess the only good thing is the sheets were clean? Ugh. I shudder just thinking about it. Never NEVER again. But I learned my lesson – from now on it’s worth the money for a clean, nice place to stay.

This is a really bad hotel. Ok, I know not to expect the Four Seasons or Hilton but please… I work in the hotel business and this is bad. The smoke detector was taken apart, there was a sticky substance on the night stand, the air conditioning was in bits, there were stains on the wall that must have been from somebody throwing beer or something against the wall. Last but certainly not least, there was a cigarette burn in the bed spread and the sheets(both!) had undefined stains on them. I guess the only positive were the«make it yourself» waffles for breakfast. Downside that this was the only thing(especially as I don’t eat waffles) but I did appreciate the idea.
