Cheap Seats Pub & Grub

Yuck. Walked in and immediately out. Place smelled like a bathroom (or B.O. of men who do t take showers I assume).

WILL NEVER RETURN! I live in hollister and I have been here a few times before. Up until this point, id rate it a 3 star review at best! I
Stopped in for some drinks with my gf during the rally. Upon paying my tab I signed my name in a scribbly fashion. The bridge troll that they call a manager approached my gf and in a nasty tone said «are you going to sign this like an adult, or act like a 5 year old»
My gf replied «that’s not my signature.» Manager «well, who’s the child that wants to play games?»
Excuse me? That’s my signature! You can’t tell me how to sign my name! Guess what, you’re living fat on business during the busy rally.
But, when the rally packs up and leaves you are left with locals like me that will not patronize your business anymore because of your extremely rude actions!
No wonder the place is empty every time I drive by. Will not return, under and circumstance!

Stay away! Horrible service and do not by any means order the taco salad or deluxe nachos. Foreign meat that’s dehydrated meat out of bag or can! Gag me!

Love, love, love this place! Great food, great staff! Really cool place for Hollister locals & out of town-​ers!

We have eaten here a couple of times and the burgers are very tasty with good seasoning, fries are the monster (no shoestring) fries.

The food is okay over all. The atmosphere is loud and busy, but it’s a sports bar and that’s just the crowd. The drinks are decent, and if you go in when its not so crowded you won’t hate it. I like their fries, and usually get a burger or salad. This is one of the better places in town to get a beer.

I’ve lived in Hollister for about seven years, and last evening was the first time I’ve ever patronized this place, it was the worst serving experience I’ve ever had, I sat down waitress engaged me within 10 minutes. she apologize for not acknowledging me quicker. proceeded to take my drink order and gave me a menu… And I did not hear back from her for the next 35 minutes, within that time two groups of people walked in their drinks were served and she had taken their food order… it was absolutely unreal. on the 35^th minute she came over with my drink instead I apologize for the delay… then I reminded her of what happened within that 35 minutes and the other customers she served before me she apologized… which was weak by the way… I walked out ! I will never return.

Sunday, not so fun day. Let me start with I have been coming here for a few years now and have never had this happen to me. Me and 5 others who are all late 20’s, early 30’s, go to cheap seats around 1:45pm to watch a couple games, eat and drink. We don’t order appetizers till around 2, and after we all order meals. We ordered a few pitchers and single beers. 1 person was not drinking hents the driver! We had the best server! Didn’t Get his name young gentlemen with a full sleeve tattoo! To bad for us he was gone around 5pm when the one person who wasn’t drinking split a beer on the table. Now there are 2 lady’s serving. The one helping us seemed bothered bringing us a towl to clean it up. (Don’t like your job, then find another!)
We ask for another round and she heads over to the lady behind the bar, looks directly at our table and makes the hand gesture in a straight like going across her throat stating we were cut off and didn’t want to serve us. SO! The bartender comes over and says… Soooo you guys want another round? I simply ask why did her co worker do that? Looking right at us? She said «well you have been here practically my whole shift». SORRY THATS NOT WHAT I ASKED. We had a driver, we are not children. So we ask for the tab. DMD she goes on to try to explain herself. Within 3 hours of being there, 6 people are tab was $ 150.82. That’s more food then beer! I’ve never felt so disrespected in a local restaurant in my life. I hope the owners see this and figure something out. Tonight is my husband’s birthday and we are now going to 3^rd Base, AKA downtown grillin and chillin.

Food is okay… But the service? HORRIBLE! Hands down I have never experienced more rude and obnoxious management ever. The manager must have been found under a bridge. The waitress I had totally acted rude and sarcastic. Not too mention the drunk people the management was drinking with! I will NEVER be back.

Hands down best burger in town. The meat itself has really good flavor. Its also our go to place to watch a game. I really like their Mushroom Burger w/​Swiss cheese. Today I ordered it with a side salad (trying to be semi healthy) and the salad was really good. If you want a good burger this is the place to go in Hollister.

Very poor customer service … I had to wait 15+min just to even have a waitress look at us ! I will not be coming back & it is a shame that they have bad workers. Waitress flirts with men at the bar but can’t even offer a drink let alone take an order of any kind…

Went here with 2 friends. We were driving through to photograph at the Pinnacles and a woman we asked on the street told us this was a good place to get a beer. Very nice exterior and interior and the vibe was extremely friendly. Sometimes, strangers get the stink eye but not here and we engaged a few locals in light conversation. We had their large 22 oz brews which really hit the spot and an order of garlic fries that were pure perfection. Sometimes, these are overwhelmed with garlic but here, the balance was spot on. The women behind the bar are very friendly, smile, and seem to enjoy their work which is always a good sign. Wish I caught her name, but the shapely brunette with extraordinary fine body art took very good care of us and was warm and friendly. I’d go back any time I was in the area and try the food. If it is as good as the garlic fries, I’ll bump my rating to 5 stars. Try it… I don’t think you’ll find any place like it in the area.

This place is Awful.
Me and my husband are up visiting Santa Cruz and we ate here on the first night in town and it was great. So we brought our friends here who live in town today and it was awful.
My friends mother ordered a drink and it came out with ginger instead of 7-​up. She also ordered a French dip, as did my husband. The meat was cold, the meat was flavorless, and the bread was gross. I ordered a patty melt with no onions and it came on white bread with onions. My friends buffalo chicken wrap came out 14 min later then everyone else’s food. So I asked the manager to come talk to us and she was sitting at a table on her phone talking to some guy about her car getting tinted. So she finally came over and we told her the issues and she said she would take care of it. She came back and told us our bill was taken down from 75.00 to 50.00.
She only took off 25 dollars for crappy service, and terrible food.
Norma the manager is a total jerk. She said she has no ability to remove things from the bill which is complete bs. She has no respect for her customers and she needs to learn how to run a restaurant/​bar. She is rude, disrespectful, and she needs to find another job.
Marina our waitress was amazing. It was her 4^th day and she kept her cool with a three year old and all of our send backs.
All in all I WILL not be back. Disgusting food and horrible management.

Western burger $ 11 with garlic fries 5.5÷10 it was ok, nothing really special.

Is there any other place in Hollister that’s like this…
Probably not. Whenever I’m in town I’ll be sure to always come in for a few drinks at this pub. Awesome food and service. We come in after a long 8 hour drive from San Diego just in time for Happy Hour and order a bucket of BBQ Wings, Nachos, Garlic Fries, and a pitcher of Bud Light. Waitress always made sure we were topped off and had the wings steady as we caught up with the latest news with the family. Good eats and good times.
I shall see you again Cheap Seats…
Verdict: The Cheap Seats name says it all. Thumbs up.

We arrived for lunch today. Being out of town, my a family member suggested we go here and grab a bite to eat. The business is great, don’t get me wrong. Perfect atmosphere, great set-​up, and tv’s everywhere.
The server, however, was a jerk. It seemed like he was in a rush to get back to the bar area and do absolutely nothing. There were two other customers in their at the same time as us, yet I felt that he wanted us to sit, order, eat, and leave. I ordered a burger. It tasted great. Not enough fries, oh well.
My two family members ordered the steak sandwich and garlic fries. Not bad. Pretty good actually.
My girlfriend ordered two corndogs and fries. When they came out, she took one bite of the warm battered corn dog and the inside was as cold as my beer. I had to take it back to the server and tell him what was up. 20 minutes later, after everyone else was done with our food, her food came out. She didn’t want it anymore, but we didn’t want to be rude to our family members who recommended this place.
I had high hopes walking in, but I wouldn’t return when back in town.

This review is for their Al Pastor Taco’s only. I didn’t try anything else. so I can’t comment of anything else… Well their fries… they were steak fries (the thick ones). which were okay.
But the Al Pastor? I believe its supposed to be pork marinated with pineapple or something right? What came out… was tortilla. and I have no idea what. The meat was darken (brown). not to a color that you would expect pork to be. so I’m assuming what they gave me was beef. It was basically some shredded beef…
I don’t know if they just made a mistake. or if they were out. and just gave me whatever they had… but I really wish it they would have said something instead of giving it to me as if I couldn’t tell the difference… :(

Just had a really bad experience… poor service, burned food… and way too expensive (2 burgers and 2 kids meals $ 60.00).
Too bad. we heard the food was good here.
They blamed it on a «new menu»…I hope that they work to correct it.

It’s a delicious fun sports bar/​pub atmosphere that just makes you want to eat drink a beer and watch the game.
