Ranch Milk

Will go here to get gas if I need gas and have to get it on my way to work, this will be one of the places I will choose, though more often I will find myself going to the Quik Stop across the street or AMPM up the road. I don’t dislike the place, but hate that they keep changing their name. They became Coast Oil after the original owners of Ranch Milk sold the station, then last summer became a Valero, and are now reverting to Coast Oil after only a few months as Valero. The Valero on the far end of San Felipe became a Chevron about two years ago. Why can’t Hollister ever keep a a Valero station? Just curious. But as far as Ranch Milk goes, it’s hard to go there for anything other than gas without worrying about blocking the pumps. The days of self-​serve gas stations are long gone and Ranch Milk’s days as a drive-​thru store are pretty much gone as well. But it’s still a good place to get gas and food if you happen to be driving in this area and if you are an early-​morning commuter as I am who takes this route.

This use to be the BEST gas station in town… Sadly it has new owners and it now officially SUCKS!
Back in the day they always pumped gas for women and senior citizens. They also had a drive-​thru market where you could get everything from eggs to beer. Gone are the good old days and now if you are lucky someone will slowly walk out and might pump your gas if you park at the right pump. Just like most things this day customer service is not a priority. There are gas stations on 3 out of 4 corners at this intersection and the new owners have lost there edge.

Wow I use to LOVE coming here. For the lazy type folks that hate to get outta there car for anything this joint takes the cake.
Only place in California I have been to where you could get booze, cigarettes and zig zags without even leaving your car. You could just holler your order out and they would basically grab what you wanted but I use to come here to get cigarettes ALL the time because of this. Yes I was lazy but there’s not another place in California that does this that I have heard of (please let me know if you have heard of one). Essentially a drive thru convenience store.

It’s not like this anymore since the new ownership. Park and get out. BOO!
