Oh Wiebe, how I REGRET thee. Let me count the ways… #1. Your door locks are super sketch. The deadbolt is tiny. The chain lock is — GONE! So did I feel safe at night? NOPE. #2. You guys lie. You say ALL of the air conditioners are broken, but. .. we found ours to work in our CLOSET. I understand saving money, but it had been 100 degrees that day. #3. A CRAZY meowing cat at night. Like aliens are invading, skinning the cat, and ripping it limb by limb. Creepy! #4. You steal. I leave some things in the room. So when I call to ask about it? You don’t even pause when I ask, «Did you find an electric toothbrush and an Apple charger?» «NO.» HUMPH. #5. Your pool is cold, even on a 100 degree day. This may or may not be your fault. So, you still want to stay here and you are deciding to ignore my? Okay, here are some positives: #1. It’s close to downtown Hollister. #2. It’s pretty cheap at $ 90 a night. #3. It’s outdated, but a decent motel. *The wifi is pretty spotty. My husband had some issues with it, but I didn’t seem to notice.

i would’ve given wiebe motel a 3 or 4-star rating(more like 3.4 stars) based on its value, but there were a few major customer service issues that dropped it to a 2-star rating. my wife and i were stayed here this past saturday night so we would spend two days at the nearby renaissance faire. its location was pretty good, close to both the faire and downtown hollister. it looked like… a motel, and not a bad one, either. the rooms and level of cleanliness are what you would expect from a motel room that’s around $ 80 – 90 a night. the two beds were firm, the bathroom was actually rather large, and the TV had showtime. wi-fi was spotty, and sometimes it was incredibly slow, but i wasn’t expecting to do work over the weekend. HOWEVER, temperatures in the area were in the mid to upper 90s, surpassing 100 degrees on sunday. some AC would’ve been nice, and online resources said that wiebe had AC. but where was it? the ancient thermostat in the room didn’t seem to work, but it looked like it controlled a heater anyway. so i went to the front office and asked about the AC, and the nice man said, «sorry, we do have AC, but it’s broken, so you’ll just have to use the fan.» so i go back into our room, but… where’s the fan? and what’s in the closet next to the bathroom? ITWASANACUNIT! then, my wife asked, «how could the AC units be broken for every single room?» and i thought, «yeah, that doesn’t seem right.» so i turned on the AC… and ITWORKED. so… i can totally understand if the owners want to save money. i didn’t mind that we had to plug in the mini-fridge because it *is* a waste of energy to keep it plugged in all the time. but to tell me to my face that the AC was *BROKEN*, when we were literally affected by heat exhaustion from the ren faire… THATWASN’T COOLATALL(pun intended). this was going to dock my rating almost a full star. what sealed it is that we absent-mindedly forgot three items in our room when we checked out: a fingernail clipper, an iPhone charger, and a sonicare toothbrush. that was our fault, but when my wife called the day after to inquire, the owner didn’t even think about his response and almost instantly replied, «no, we don’t have any of those items.» hm… no remorse, zero effort at even trying to help. a sonicare toothbrush isn’t exactly a small or cheap object. what if we had lost our phones, or a laptop? so overall, it’s a cheap place to stay. it’s a motel, even a bit charming as a roadside stop in a very sparsely populated area, but the lie about the AC(especially given how scorching hot it was) and the cold reply about our lost items forced my hand in giving wiebe motel a 2-star rating.

We were weary and tired. We’d been driving for 4 hours and all we wanted was to check into our motel room and maybe have a drink. We checked in and proceeded to our motel room. To our horror after pulling back the comforter we discovered the local mice had lefts many gifts on our pillows!!! All we could think was wholly crap! Well that’s the first thing that came to mind after we unearthed the mini tootsie rolls on the pillows. I don’t know any mice that go to church so I don’t think the crap was wholly by any means!!! Aside from the pillow chocolates, the spider webs were very attractive and we loved the water feature in the bathroom with the shower spraying all over the room. It also had an amazing treat when you flush the toilet and water pours out of the tank(never seen that before). So remember if you have a choice make sure when you see this little gem of a motel on the side of the road hit the gas and don’t look back!!! ps we wished we would have taken pix to share with everyone

You get what cha pay for! Great rooms for the price. After looking all night for rooms, every Hotel and motel was vacant, Really Hollister? and this one at the very end of town was open. Economical and O. K rooms:) I also left a necklace in the room I had stayed and the hotel owners so kindly went to check the room, found and saved it for me until I came to pick it up again. Customer service here was outstanding. ;) Will be returning.

Kind of a throw back roadside motel, but clean and well kept. Even has a decent little pool to cool off in. Our car broke down a little bit south of Hollister and we thought we were going to have to stay overnight to see it fixed. These guys were very accommodating and friendly. A great stop-over hotel if you’re in the area and need a place to sleep.

You have to make sure you ask for them to keep the wi-fi on during the night because they turn it off to save money, but they will be happy to keep it on for you if you ask! Also, they were very flexible in letting us check out a little later than 11AM, nice treat!
