J D Auto Repair & Instant Muffler

I would highly recommend!!! I went other places and was quoted a ridiculous $ 500 to put an exhaust muffler (flomax) on my car. I found J D Auto Repair and paid $ 188 total. If you want a mechanic you can trust, this is the place.

I have really bad luck with cars. Perhaps in another life I was really terrible to cars and this is my punishment. Regardless, my alternator died a few days ago and Firestone wanted to charge almost $ 500 to replace it. Normally an alternator is something easy to replace, so I bought the part and attempted to install it myself. Probably another part of karma punishing me, but it turns out I happen to own a car where the alternator is buried underneath the engine and I wasn’t comfortable loosening the engine mounts by myself. I found JD online and called around 8pm on Dec 23^rd, the day before Christmas Eve, to ask if there was any way they could help me install it in time to drive to see my family in Orlando. JD was one of the nicest people I’ve ever spoken to at an auto repair facility — he said no problem and that he would only charge me $ 78 to install it. I brought my car in this morning right as they opened and they had it ready within two hours. I met JD in person and he is just as nice as he was on the phone. They even made sure to leave me with the old part so I could get the core charge reimbursed.
I will definitely be coming back soon to make some additional repairs on my car. Hopefully I’ve found my new mechanic!

As a women I tend to get ripped off by many auto repair companies (or so they think they are getting me.) However, this place is honest and friendly! I enjoyed the respect they gave me and the fact that he was honest about the work needed on my car. If you are not that knowledgeable about fixing cars you can definitely trust the fact that they are not out to claim all types of things are wrong with your car just to earn a buck. It’s crazy because all of the places that tried to get me couldn’t because I love to question their judgement and shop around to see if the things mentioned wrong with my car are consistent from one shop to another.
