This is my local Good Will Store, and I’ve been frequenting it, at least bi-weekly for the past two years. It seemed to be slacking in cleanliness for about the last 6 months or so. I also noticed that there are a lot of donations of brand new items from a local retailer, and the prices on those items are more than the sale price ticket left on the packages by the retailer. This makes no sense to me at all. The prices on the small donation items have also doubled in the last year or year and a half. I’ve also stopped into other locations in the area, and those locations have also increased their prices on small items and the glassware. Doesn’t make sense to me, that I would pay almost retail on a used item. I will continue to check out Good Will stores, but not the Holmes location.

This goodwill is hit or miss as are all thrift stores. Great when you find a deal. Prices are erratic. Sometimes reasonable but lately some stuff priced really high. $ 50 for framed artwork… at goodwill? Come on. Furniture can be high too. Swarthmore goodwill is a much better store.

So I stumbled across this location while I was headed to a consignment shop around the corner(can’t remember the name smh, I’m getting old lol)… When I first entered I was greeted by a sales woman. Let me not forget to mention that this location is huge(furniture, clothes) but the shoes selection is scarce tho smh and the kids section had nothing really interesting lol .Ok but now to the good part lol I found an knee length tan duster(light spring coat) from Saks fifth Ave that looked brand new and high waisted skirt, which is always a timeless piece… so overall my experience was pleasant and I will be back

A terrific thrift store! I always score big when I shop here by leaving with exactly what I was looking for. I’m not ashamed to admit I wear clothes from here all the time, even to work! They look great! This weekend, I bought four blouses and four skirts(all clothes for work) for a total of $ 26 dollars! One new skirt at the mall would have cost more! They are all beautiful items that I can’t wait to wear. The store is very large, clean, and well organized. Unlike most thrift stores, they have a bathroom and fitting rooms, which are both a huge plus. The staff is always courteous. I will remain a repeat customer!

This is a large and relatively clean Goodwill. They don’t have a ton of furniture but this is likely related to the fact that what they do have is priced to sell. The housewares were very much picked over and a bit overpriced, sadly, as were the purses. I found a nice little armchair here in very good condition. If I go back, however, I will be sure to load my car on my own. They have guys in the back who load large purchases into your vehicle for you. Well, the guy who«helped» me ended up putting a scratch on my car. This store is also in a strip mall with cramped parking so be careful getting in and out.

I can consistently find something here. The items are usually in good shape and they have even remodeled the fitting rooms into luxurious new suites. Oh la la. I have seen the staff put a few customers in check. It’s actually kind of funny because you can see it coming. I usually handle this particular staff with care. Tip toe.

How can you pass up a good thrift store? For those of us who are on a tight budget but still like to feel like they are buying something every once in a while, the Goodwill Store is a great place to visit. I almost always find something here — whether it be a pair of pants to work out in, a good book, some random household item or a pair of the only brand of jeans that I wear(I’ve found 3 pairs in my size so far — SCORE). I took away one star for a couple of reasons: they have jacked up the price of books. I am an avid Stephen King collector/reader and I am always thrilled to find another addition to my bookshelf. When I was there today, they informed me that some books had been marked up — from 75 cents to $ 3! They have also stopped sorting the pants by size. Even though I’m sure my size is in there somewhere, it was much less of a hassle when they were clearly marked and sorted. All in all, I will continue to visiting the Goodwill on McDade Blvd. I can still get that«shopping spree feeling» without the empty feeling in my wallet!
