This place is cool. I wish the owners would bring the property up to its full potential… Maybe someday. For now, it’s a great place for those who want to stay in that Kona area on the cheap. We paid $ 50 approximately a night and stayed for two nights. This place is not for those who wanted the perfect shower, never want to see an insect and hate squeaky floors. High maintenance folks need not be interested. Hōlualoa is a great area. There’s some decent vintage shopping in the area but the Holuakoa Café across the street will satisfy your coffee, espresso and café needs. You could spend $ 100 plus down on the water at a nice resort but if you want to venture off the beaten path and try something a little different I would definitely recommend the Kona Historic Hotel.
