I would give 5 star rating for this hotel! Hotel staff were very friendly! This hotel is located close to Keys! Initially, we booked the room for 2 nights on internet but after staying here and as we had to cover few more places around Homestead, we decided to extend the stay by one more night. When we went to the reception to talk about extension, the speaker that was installed outside the reception didn’t work and the lady inside the reception couldn’t convey us the message properly. Suddenly someone came from the dark and he said he was the hotel manager and the lady from the counter acknowledged him too. He guaranteed our extended stay will actually cost the same price that we booked via expedia. In total, these guys are awesome and so is the hotel. Also, this hotel is placed in a good location and you have lots of restaurants available nearby if the breakfast provided in the hotel is not suitable for you. We woke up late but still were served breakfast when we asked for it at 11 am check out time. 5-stars once again!

The room was clean and updated(the motel appears to have been built in the 60s or 70s). Bed was comfortable and I didn’t have any issues with hot water, roaches, etc., that some of the other reviewers had. Bathroom was nicely done with new tile and good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast is standard continental hotel fare(read: carb overload). Wi-fi service was horrible — sporadic and, when it was working, very slow. Basically, it was a $ 49/night motel room that cost me $ 99/night because it’s in South Florida. That being said, I will not be staying here again because: — The other patrons are just what you might expect to find at a low-budget motel. Bikers, guys hanging out in the parking lot at 11:30 pm playing loud rap music, homeless people panhandling for money, people standing outside your door having a loud conversation at 6:30 am(the door doesn’t appear to be soundproofed ATALL), etc. Make sure you keep your car locked and your valuables with you, despite the security, or place them in the room safe. — BEDBUGS. When I returned home, I discovered about two dozen bedbug bites on my abdomen and back. Hotel management was contacted and said they’d look into it, but given the other problems, I think I’ll take my business elsewhere next time I’m in the area.

DONOTSTAYHERE! GERMANCOCKROACHES! I wish I could give this place less than one star. I would. This place looks nice but looks are deceiving! We brought our stuff in the room then went out to dinner. When we came back I was moving my things and a small German cockroach came out of my bag. We told the manager but there is really nothing you can do with German cockroaches. Once they’re in, they’re in. For a split second we thought we could stay but then I moved my pillow and another one appeared. At this time we were like peace out! Only trouble is. we have no hotel and it’s spring break weekend! Do not stay here. Do not.

I paid close to $ 90/nt here, which seemed like a lot for a Super 8, but I am aware of the concept of supply & demand. And for any of you reading this who aren’t familiar, it basically means when you’re visiting an area where demand is great, you pay what the Super 8 says and you live with it. The hotel has taken over a building next to it, which is where we stayed. On weekend nights a security officer hung out in the parking lot — don’t know the full implications from that, but it gives you a sense of security if nothing else. Breakfast officially starts at 7, pretty late by hotel standards, but they were pretty well stocked so I won’t complain: DIY waffles, cereal dispensers(including Special K), fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. We stayed 3 nights, and on one night we lost hot water. I called the desk and they pretty quickly dispatched maintenance to check it out. I ended up going to bed before it was resolved, though I heard a loud truck come barreling in so I knew the heavy hitters were involved, but by morning the hot water was here again. I have to mention that we had a few roaches in our room. Which is never fun, but I don’t necessarily wig out over them. But you may, so only fair to say. In the end, you could say it’s not the most well-kept place, but in my eyes I think the management is doing what they can. And if you’re a budget traveler who can overlook the things I listed, you’ll have a pretty decent base for the Everglades.

My mom and I stayed here on the way from Key West to back home Clearwater. Since it was going to be a quick stop just to rest from all the driving, I did not want to spend a lot of money and wanted to stay near the highway so I picked this motel. One thing I could not get over was the comforter. I have a sensitive skin and I immediately felt ticks biting my legs. Sure enough it was the comforter so I decided to sleep without it. This did not happen when I stayed at Sheraton in Key West so I don’t think it was my imagination. The bathroom was old and the toilet kept clogging. The location was good. It was along the highway and there are Walmart, all the chain restaurants and the outlet stores nearby. I still paid $ 80 total for this place… such a shame!
