Aloha Sushi

I heard about this place from a friend in California. It was worth the visit because the poke bowl was very flavorful. With this entrée, you can decide on the level of spiciness. I got the mild level which hit the spot. I particularly like how they mixed in seasoned greens with this poke bowl.
This is a good place to check out if you are in a hurry and need a quick bite. I also got an order of their handrolls which had a very good amount of seafood in proportion to the rice. The cashier was also very friendly in answering my questions about their menu selections.

We took a chance on this place due to the decent reviews it had on Unilocal.It was pretty good for the price, but definitely not the best sushi I’ve had. We ordered the Family Platter for 19 dollars and it had several pieces of nigiri and maki rolls. Very small rolls, but filled two of us up for dinner. We ordered and took our platter back to the hotel for dinner to enjoy, but they have several small tables if you wanted to eat there.

Scary little hole in the wall in a run down awesome location shopping center. Most stores are vacant. The Subway was good, I rented from Alamo there, but I’m digressing…

Normally they is a very healthy helping of eggs covering the top.
How incredibly disappointing …

I didn’t expect much from a take out place. But the food is amazing, way better than the closest restaurant Chiba-​Ken. And they do have some small tables outside the store, so you could sit and eat there if you want.

Really good for the price you pay. If you are in Hawaii and on a budget this is the place to go. Fast food sushi! The owner is super friendly and sweet.

We were here on family trip. Food was good, and people who worked there were so nice. Definitely recommended.

If you enjoy deathly food poisoning and no refunds (especially when they get your order wrong) then eat here! :) good gracious this place is horrible! Save yourself and your family from the horrible old hag that works behind that counter. Worst sushi ever! I think u could find better at the gas station down the road.

I had a really nice lunch bento, with fresh and nice-​looking sushi. The staff were very friendly, and the prices were very reasonable — cheap for Hawaii, really.

Excellent quick food…
Poke plate was delicious with just the right seasoning and sauce. I also got the unagi hand roll which really hit the spot for me. And last but not least the sashimi donburi was the filler … Great quality fish along with just the right amount of rice… Can’t go wrong with Aloha Sushi…

I can’t give a bad review, so I’ll put 5 stars in hopes that they will start serving Tamari with their sushi for gluten free patrons. I couldn’t enjoy the divey sushi place that looked delicious. Celiacs, beware!

I got the Shrimp Tempura Udon and it was delicious!!. In it were the noodles, a piece of crab meat, a bit of spinach, seaweed and a piece of shrimp tempura. I didn’t expect the shrimp to be crispy as it soaked up the broth, but it still tasted pretty good! The noodles we’re soft and chewy which I liked. I also had an avocado bubble drink that was decent. It could’ve used some added sweetness but the bubble/​pearls were good. It was quite warm inside, so don’t expect an air conditioned room. Service was very good-​I asked some questions about what was in some of the rolls and they were answered politely.

Gross. Lady was no help. I read the reviews on here thinking this would be a decent place. Nope. Ordered a few rolls and a poke bowl. Took a bite of each and haven’t had the urge to eat sushi since. Pretty sure this place ruined sushi for me. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Got the spicy ahi maki california roll to-​go since the acai bowl place was so busy. Was glad that it was busy or else I wouldn’t have opted for Aloha sushi. Got 8 pcs for brunch and it was light, tasty and fresh. Service was quick and the lady at the front was really nice. Pleasant overall experience!

I was talking to a coworker about restaurant options, specifically Poke Bowl in and around the Ala Moana center in Honolulu and he mentioned Aloha Sushi. Unilocal reviews were generally positive so off I went. I loved it! The very friendly pleasant lady behind the spotlessly clean counter suggested the spicy Poke Bowl option. I reasoned that she has forgotten more about Poke than I’m ever going to know, so I went with her suggestion. It was perfect: delicious, fresh and lit my mouth up with just the right amount of flavor fire. The only down side was I had to buy 2 green tea drinks to put out the fire. On second thought the drinks were good so there is really no «down side».
5 stars; I’ll be back for sure.

After a really long flight and hardly any food or sleep this place was so yummy and right across the street from our hotel. I had the poke bowl and it hit the spot sooo perfectly. It’s not a real fancy restaurant just a nice spot to grab a meal and go.

A small, neat, and clean sushi place. I got a poke bowl and it was super duper salty and the portion was pretty small.

I got the poke one night and some rolls which were all delicious. The lady asked if I like wasabi and I replied yes, and holy crap did she mean business. They were wasabi’d up and awesome. Had a soup of some kind another night — tasted great just can’t remember its name.
I should add that the lady inside was just the most awesome person ever. Sweet as ever!

Good cheap food but last time we came the service was bad. The usual woman (perhaps the owner) who is always so pleasant wasn’t there. The woman that helped us was rude, didn’t respond to my questions, was rushing us, etc. Wouldn’t have really minded and would have just figured she was having a bad day, but she was super polite to the people in front of us and the people behind us, and treated them completely different. I couldn’t help but notice that they were both Asian couples and we are not. We come here all the time to support their business and was really taken aback by how differently she treated us.
Aside from her unfriendly demeanor, I told her that our food was for here and that we would be eating at the tables. She brought food out to the other couple’s tables, but she packed ours up to-​go, and came out to our table where we were waiting to be served and said «your to-​go order is ready, it’s inside on the counter»… A little annoyed, but figured it was a mistake, I went back in to grab the food and realized we needed another chopsticks (she only packed 1). When I asked her for 1 more, she threw the chopsticks on the counter for me to pick up, instead of handing it to me when I was 2 feet away.
Again, we are regulars here, and I have never been treated so poorly. We live around the block and come at least once a week. I refuse to support a place with such rude service, and know that the owner would have been disappointed with this woman’s behavior. I really loved this place, but am super uncomfortable coming back.

I’m visiting Waikiki and this place was great! As a tourist it was nice to find a cheap place that didn’t skimp on quality.
It’s mainly Togo and found in a small plaza. It completely looks like a hole In the wall and not like it should be safe but is wonderful!
Friendly service, cheap prices and quick!
