So second time for a massage from Makiko and Angeli Day Spa. If there were more stars, I’d select them!!! I’m always on the go and flying in planes with seats much too small for me (heh heh) and very long flights to and from Japan. Last time I was able to get a massage was months ago, so Makiko made time in her very busy schedule and I was able to get yet another healing massage from her. Mahalo Makiko-​san! Highly recommended for everyone out there in need of a great massage with care and Aloha. Makiko is the best!

Makiko accommodated me in December while I was visiting from Los Angeles. I was in Hawaii for Christmas. I was at the Ala Moana Shopping Center and needed a massage really bad. My lower back and neck was aching. I called her and left a message and she called me back and told me she could squeeze me in at 4:30pm. I was so excited! So I walked over to her office from the shopping center. I opted for the 90-​minute combo massage and it was heavenly! I asked her about the December $ 10 off special Unilocal discount and she graciously applied it to my bill. My total came out to $ 95 for a 90 min massage. (Reg price for 90 massage is $ 105 and 60 min is $ 70.) Makiko gave me such a strong deep tissue massage, that I came out so relaxed and forgot that she gave me a $ 10 discount. I ended up paying her the full price plus 20% tip. Hahaha! That’s totally okay. Basically, I didn’t even use the discount. She deserved it all. I would return to Makiko for a deep tissue massage when I am back in Hawaii. She even had a clean hair brush ready to use after the massage and a small little bowl to place your jewelry in. (Comes in handy before and after the massage!) Thanks, Makiko! See you in Hawaii summer 2015!

Conveniently located two blocks from the Ala Moana mall on the second floor of an office building. There’s no sign on the exterior of the building. Lisa gave me an excellent massage with just the right amount of pressure. It was very relaxing and the perfect way to end a stressful work week in Hawaii. At $ 70 for an hour massage it was an affordable indulgence. I will definitely return when work brings me back to Honolulu.

I went to see Makiko at the end of July for back pain. She did an amazing job. She look tiny but she is extremely strong. I got a custom massage, which I recommend because se customizes the massage for your needs.
The location is near ala moana. There is a lot of parking. Makiko’s space is very clean. The lighting is dimmed so it’s very relaxing. Plus it smells like eucalyptus!
Definitely going back again.

best massage I’ve ever gotten! Price is fair and the quality is super! Whether you want a relaxing massage or a strong massage for a sore body, Makiko gives you the perfect massage. Spa is very nice and quiet, with free parking and conveniently located right next to Ala Moana shopping center. Must try Makiko’s speciality, the combination massage!

This is my 2^nd time going back to Makiko for pregnant massage. She always focus on my needs and provide excellent service. You can tell her what type of pressure you want and she executed well. I love when I can call for same day appt (which is a plus)

Makiko, owner and massage therapist at Angeli Day Spa is the best! I’ve been going to her for at least 5 years now and I must say nothing beats her massage. I’ve tried other expensive spas before but I keep going back to Makiko. I always leave her spa feeling relaxed and great after each session. Her spa is cozy, clean and she plays nice relaxing music while giving you a massage. She also give the best prenatal massages! I’m carrying my 2^nd child, (she did my prenatal with my 1^st child) and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for prenatal. She is simply the best.

I really enjoyed my experience at Angeli Day Spa. The price was reasonable and Makiko was able to relieve some of the tension in my neck and shoulders. She gave me some good recommendations about how to alleviate some of the tension from day to day. Makiko is very friendly and pleasant, and made sure to ask a few times if the pressure was right. The office itself is relaxing and well-​kept which is something that factors in to my experience. Overall, I was pleased with my massage and plan on coming back to see Makiko again the next time I am in Honolulu.

I was having major upper back problems that wasn’t getting resolved, even after 2 massages! So I found Makiko on Unilocal and thought I’d give her a try. She was the only one on Unilocal with all five stars. I was a little skeptical because I never heard anyone talk about her personally, there were few reviews and the location was strange — right above bar seven? So I arrived and she was located across the hall from a scientology office in the building next to the old O lounge. Her office is a small space with two rooms. She said she shared the space with another therapist so you must request her! Although the space was small, it was clean and comforting. I was very relaxed by the lighting and the way it was decorated. Ambiance is very important to me and I will pay for a relaxing atmosphere when I go to a spa. She even had good music and aromatherapy — I was happy already. She asked me what I wanted (this step is super important to me — how do you know what I want if you don’t ask me??) and we settled on a «shiatsu/​Makiko special mix.» Then, she started her massage… now for regulars, you know how hard it is to have a good massage… you tell them your lower back hurts and they spend the whole time on your upper back… you tell them harder and they tell you to ask for a male… cold hands… bony hands… too weak… no aromatherapy… there’s a million things that can go wrong in a massage but Makiko was heaven sent. Everything was PERFECT. It was like she was reading my mind. She spent most of her time on my upper back. Her pressure was just as I liked it. She was friendly in conversation but didn’t talk too much. Sometimes you find a therapist that is just in sync with you, you don’t have to tell them a thing. She ended it with a shoulder and neck massage that was amazing! I loved that finale. To top it all off, students get 10% discount!!! She is super affordable for $ 70/​hr without the discount but you get 10% off if it’s your first time. I definitely recommend Makiko. She was very nice and professional. She is the only therapist who massaged me in a suit and I’ve had about 50. I can’t wait to go back! Seriously, the best massage I ever had.

I was given a gift certificate for Angeli for Christmas and was excited for my first professional massage! I was not disappointed. Makiko was very nice, professional and friendly. It was very difficult to get up from the table after. I will definitely be returning to her in the future.

I recently referred a friend of mine to Makiko. Makiko gave $ 10 discount to her and to me as well. I’m going to redeem my $ 10 today. Yay! She now takes credit card! A huge plus for someone like me who doesn’t carry a lot of cash! Lol

I’ve been going to Makiko at Angeli Day Spa once a month religously. I’ve been doing the hot stone massage and it always makes my body feel light and refreshed. Usually when I don’t go, I have a hard time waking up in the morning. But when I do go and have a massage, I wake up feeling refreshed and have an easier time waking up the next day.
The atmosphere is very clean, comfortable and relaxing with having the massage in candlelight with a nice fagrance in the air. I always look forward to going back every month!

I had a great spa experience. They really cared about the way I felt and what problems I had. I was very impressed with the pre massage consultation. The staff was extremely nice and the massage was excellent. I would recommend this Spa to anyone who wants an out of body experience. Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been coming to Makiko for several years. I do a lot of computer work, and Makiko has helped me to relieve stress by working on the very tight muscles in my shoulders, neck, and back. She does a great combination massage, and she has a heated massage table, which is very comfortable and relaxing. Makiko always gets the pressure just right. I like that she presses hard, but she also easily adjusts the pressure, like when she worked around a foot injury I was nursing.
Her two-​room day spa is very quiet, peaceful, and elegant with lovely Pottery Barn-​type décor. Free parking is plentiful, either in the customer stalls facing the building on the ground floor, or on the second floor facing what used to be the China House restaurant and later the O lounge. I’ve been to expensive hotel spas, but Makiko is way better. I don’t need the shower facilities or the frills of those expensive spas; I’d rather spend my money on the massage itself.

By the way, for those who are shoppers, Makiko is on the Sears-​end of Ala Moana just across Kona Street, and her massage is the perfect way to end a day of «power shopping!»

Angeli Day Spa is a wonderful salon where you could get the best body massage with a very reasonable price. Makiko is a wonderful experienced massage therapist whose technique is very unique, blending various methods of massage. Her spa is very clean, quiet and shows her good taste of decoration. Her service is very good and I really enjoyed her massage there. Very convenient place, free parkings. I definitely come back to Angeli Day Spa, soon!

Angeli Day Spa is a hidden gem in town, Makiko will give you the best body massage you’ll ever get. I’ve had massages from salon, top spas, and etc but there’s nothing like Makiko’s unique blend of massage. You’ll get a very good quality massage. So far, I’ve been going to her for 2 years now and I go every 3 weeks or whenever my body can’t handle the aches and pain I get from daily stress.
