Service at Bibas was exceptional — Kyle did a great job. Food was fast, hot and very good. Would definitely recommend dining here.

Service was so-so here. It was friendly enough but not quite attentive and a little awkward sometimes. There food was hit or miss. The Asian braised short ribs are amazing though. Alaskan Snow Crab was good. It’s a nice, casual atmosphere to relax and enjoy your self, friends and or family. They ask for a hotel key card at the hostess desk so not sure if you can eat here with just a military id or if you have to be a resort guest. Not an amazing place, but I think it’s just what we need most of the time when we stay here on vacation and don’t feel like leaving the resort.

I wanted to try this place since it was onsite at the Hale Koa and very convenient. It is really overpriced, and the atmosphere is weird– it could be a chic place but the tables and chairs are outdated. We had the Ahi Poke appetizer to start with, which was good. I ordered a margherita pizza and mixed greens salad as my dinner. It was just fair. The pizza didn’t have much flavor, and the salad was pretty small. My husband had the Lemongrass chicken which was fair, it was really salty and was actually bone-in chicken, which wasn’t advertised on the menu. We were still hungry so we ordered two desserts to share– the coconut ice cream and the cheesecake. The coconut ice cream had zero flavor but the presentation was cute(dusted with cocoa so it looks like a half coconut). The cheesecake was a little better but nothing to rave about. My personal opinion would be to pass and head out for dinner.

Tried to get a table for 4 just to feed our children and they skipped over our family 4 times. Host and hostess were so snub and rude when I pointed out their error. Wasted 45 minutes trying to get a table when we were told 20 min wait. Finally just left angry!

Terrible service from the time you hit the hostess stand, management caused a big scene, and certainly not worth the great, expensive food to be treated so poorly.

Took me almost 20 mins to wait to order take out in person at the restaurant. «We will have a shrimp and angel hair…» This is the first sentence of my order after saying hi. Then we decided to order the days catch over steak. Then 20 mins later, my husband picked up the order back to our room and there’s only one order of the catch of the day. I called and asked about the other dish and they told me we didn’t order the pasta! I confirmed them hat I ordered it and they just told us that we can place the order then and pick it up in 10, without even apologize for their miss-order! So 10 mins later my hubby went pick up the order and was told by the manager that pasta is not in the take out menu. Hubby was so upset and complained that if their waitress didn’t even know about what not included in the takeout menu, how would we know! Then the manager was like they would give us 10% off to make up for it. Really?! Whatever, we just want our food so that we can get our night going on. But we will for sure not order from them anymore. Really bad service and the food is just average.

Quinoa Salad $ 15, the size of my kids hand. Not a cool order or value. Bibas is better than this! Too bad… Slow service not to your usual par.

Tonight I tried the Turkey Noodle Soup, and came away disappointed in several ways: 1) the rolls were old and crunchy on the bottom, 2) the waitress served me before my Wife — by several minutes, 3) the waitress almost ‘threw’ the bread in front of my Wife, instead of in the center of the table, 4) although Thanksgiving was only TWO days ago, I got what seemed to be Campbell’s Turkey Noodle Soup — ANDTHEYDON’T HAVECRACKERS. Very poor showing for a higher-cost restaurant like Bibas. My Wife had the London Pub fried fish, and I can clearly state that this chef has never had ‘fish and chips’ in the UK. The thick, and uncooked on the inside, breaking was a very dark brown, not light tan as we expected. The coating was much thicker — almost 1/8″ thick — and looked like they had used a very thick batter and fried it at too high a temp. The coating had a different smell, but not burnt, but it was hard, not like the thin batter usually seen on fried fish. This is our sixth trip to Oahu, and we have never seen surlier service at Bibas. We shall not return to this restaurant.

The service was good but the food left something to be desired. The calamari tasted like fried flour and they forgot to salt it! We left ¾ of that behind. The poke was ok, but far too small of an appetizer for $ 10. The wine list is priced fairly but the house wine isn’t great. The nachos we had at the snack bar next door were far superior tasting than the food here.

The restaurant requires military ID or a room key for the hotel as it is a military only hotel. But if you can get in it’s got great food. I had a pretty good loco moco although it was the least favorite of our table. The short ribs and the ribeye were very good. Don’t go for the Italian style pastas – it’s not their forte.

New Chefs At Bibas! We had a large party this Sunday evening at Bibas. We parked at their huge lot across the street.(They validate) Walked through the hotel to the indoor/outdoor Bibas Restaurant at Hale Koa. Our waitress was Rowena, she was SO on it! She anticipated everything we would need. Our beverages never got to the half way point. The bread basket featured their in house made warm rolls with butter, YUMMMM. The Pacific Cobb Salad is TO. DIE. FOR.!! They would make a killing bottling that dressing!(Pipikaula crumbles, maui goat cheese, avocado, teardrop tomatoes, egg, roasted beets, miso ginger dressing) It’s a huge dinner salad that all of us shared. $ 16.95 The Island Style Ahi Poke(Ahi, avocado, okinawan sweet potato crisps, avocado oil) was fresh and flavorful. Their Angry Chicken Wings(Spicy gochujang hot butter sauce, garlic cucumber salad, kim chee aioli) would make you drool! $ 9.95 The Taro Crusted Crab cakes were almost too pretty to eat… almost :)(Blue crab, chinese taro, pickled watermelon relish, thai green papaya salad, thai coconut remoulade) OMG — the best French Onion Gratinee!(beef stock, caramelized ewa sweet onions, sherry, french baguette croutons, bruleed swiss cheese) $ 5.95 I won’t ever eat this anywhere else in Honolulu. Chilled Fresh Taro Vichyssoise(Potato and tuber root blend, leeks, cream, big island bees honey, okinawan sweet potato brunoise) $ 5.95…smooth, rich, and creamy. I LOVE how their new menu uses SO many island ingredients. Did I tell you that they have their own pizza oven? We are trying that next time along with one of their towering burgers. We met dining room manager, Greg, who was both personable and professional as he checked on each table. Hubby had the 18oz Bone-In Ribeye Steak(‘alae red hawaiian salt, chimichurri, beurre monte on the side at his request) $ 29.95 Doesn’t it look like it could come from Hy’s Steakhouse for $$$ more? Yes, because Bibas new chef is Erwin Manzano-Exec Chef just moved over from Hys! No photo from Chef Erwin’s July special — bone in pork chop with their featured pineapple theme, or the succulent English Pub Mahi Mahi,(kona longboard battered, yuzu citrus tartar sauce) friends were too fast for me. The Shrimp and Angel hair Pasta was cooked to perfection.(black tiger shrimp, white wine lemon butter sauce, angel hair) $ 22.95 We only had one taker for dessert… with many spoons :) Their house made coconut ice cream was molded in to half a coconut shape, using cocoa powder as the shell, cascading with fresh fruit. We all agreed that it was FABULOUS! I can’t wait to go back!!! Hy’s loss is definitely Bibas gain. Each month they have new specials, in addition to their new menu. Find your military family member, or friend, and treat them to a wonderful dinner at Bibas! See you there! PHOTO’S POSTED

They close at 9PM and were happy to take an order for a pizza at 8:57PM — that’s a huge plus in my book. Thank you! The pizza itself was great, served hot and enjoyed thoroughly in our room. Thank you!

They give you yummy cold bread to make up for the crappy overpriced cold food. I ordered the seafood pasta, the pasta was warm but all the season was cold. Tasted like they pulled it straight out of the freezer. Our glasses were empty for 15 mins when We had to ask for more water. Never again!

Ate there last night and waited over an hour for our food. If it had just been my husband and I, I would not have been so upset, but we had our three year old with us. After an hour, with no water refills during that time, the waiter dropped off a slice of cheese cake as an apology for the wait. My child, who was so hungry, by that point, decided to forego the use of a fork, and started grabbing pieces with his fingers and stuffing them into his mouth. If I wasn’t already irritated by then, I was now pissed. I told my husband I was going to wash our child’s hands and would be leaving when we came back. The food was sitting on the table upon our return. My $ 18 Caesar salad consisted of about two romaine lettuce leaves. Luckily, I bought it with some chicken, but the whole meal consisted of maybe two cups of leaves and a few pieces of chicken. The waiter barely spoke to us and slid three rolls on our table as he sped by. We had empty water cups for at least 45 minutes, and my husband was the only one who got a partial refill on his water, once(mine was empty at that point). After we ordered, the waiter told us the kitchen was a little backed up, but we thought this meant about a 30 minute wait, not over an hour. Had we been told that, we would never have sat down. As we were leaving, we heard the waiter warning someone of the extreme wait, and wished we had been offered the same courtesy. I was a waiter years ago, so I understand the struggle, but last night was ridiculous. In addition, the lights in the restaurant kept dimming and turning back on. Also, despite the restaurant being far from packed, we were stuffed in the extreme corner, about 2 ½ feet from some sort of storage compartment, where people kept entering and exiting. This picture makes me more mad than anything else because it shows how hungry my son was, who normally doesn’t like getting his hands dirty while eating. Obviously, I could have stuffed him full of bread while we waited, but then he wouldn’t want dinner. At the point this photo was taken, I just wanted him to eat.

Fantastic meatballs & pasta. «That’s one spicy meatball.» Hawaiians know pasta. Wine selection is weak but who cares. Cool water is just right with this spicy pasta sauce.

Moderate«vacation» prices but really bland blah food. It’s like Applebee’s but not as reasonably priced. The Mai tai was watery. I had a salad which had strips of tomatoes, not even amounting to a quarter of a small tomato. The pizza, meh. Chicken quesadilla, meh. Kahlua pork was so salty it was barely edible. Altogether a lackluster meal. It gets stars for convenience and for being somewhat moderately priced. The high chair was so gross, sticky all over. We made up for it by leaving a blow out diaper in the bathroom trash.

Excellent place for a large party. My daughter had planned a May destination wedding and we had decided to have the rehearsal dinner here for 39 people. We looked at several places and Biba’s was the most reasonably priced, especially compared to the Hilton Hawaiian Village restaurants next door. Greg, Biba’s Manager, was great to work with. I initially contacted him via phone and we corresponded via email from there until the day of the event. Greg emailed me the menu selection along with instructions and did not require a deposit. I thought this was very gracious, seeming to just accept my word.(I thought maybe it’s the laid back Hawaiian culture at play.) On the day of the event, Greg gave me name cards for each of our guests with their entrée selection I provided via email 3 days before. It was all very organized. He had our party sit at one section on the restaurant, all together as we requested. We were served timely and accurately. Greg and his staff were very attentive, friendly and professional. The customer service was excellent! The food was reasonably priced and was of high quality. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the deal, truly a bargain for the price. We ate out during our whole vacation and have to admit this was the best meal we had for the price we paid. The best part was that there was no tax, as it’s a military hotel/restaurant. My husband is a US Navy veteran and I don’t know if this restaurant is open to civilians. Biba’s did not add a mandatory 18%+ gratuity, which is common for large parties, but we tipped 20% anyway since it was well worth it. I highly recommend Biba’s, especially for large parties. My husband brought his mother and aunt here a couple of days later for dinner and he said it was just as good dining in as a small group. If you get the exceptional service and food my friends, family and I received, you will not be disappointed.

Went for breakfast /lunch with family and friends for the awesome AYCE buffet. It was my first time eating here but my family and friends go often and always get there around 10 a.m. for breakfast and then stay for lunch when the buffet menu changes around 10:30. I enjoyed the breakfast veggie omelet made at the omelet station and fresh fruit selections, especially the fresh papaya with lime. There is also a waffle maker where you make your own waffle and add your favorite toppings. I avoided the great looking pastries and muffins altogether as I wanted to try the other items. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. So if you or someone in your family are active or retired military, do yourself a favor and go for the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere and great menu. The only negative is the front door is wide open which can be very nice but that open door also allowed a white pigeon to come into the dining area for a while and then it walked out the door to enjoy the sunny day. We did the same and walked to the front lobby and stopped briefly at the tables set up for a craft fair. The lobby was nicely decorated with trees representing all the branches of the military.

Came here for the breakfast buffet and was well worth my money! Crispy bacon, omelet station, waffle area with a selection of toppings, eggs Benedict, fruits, muffins, and of course COFFEE! :) For the price of the buffet I thought it would be more pricey especially since it’s a hotel but it’s only around $ 13 per person! If you are staying at hale koa and want breakfast, this is a great place to go to.
