Perfect cut… You can tell you have a perfect cut when you do absolutely nothing to it and wake up looking awesome a month later. Billy Fong the owner of Billy Fong studio B has been cutting hair in Honolulu for a very long time. He does the best cuts period. I wash my hair, I don’t even blow it dry and it always looks perfect. The studio also does color, straightening perms, regular perms and is located on the top floor of where Hee Hing restaurant used to be on Kapahulu Avenue. Parking is $ 1 downstairs. Billy knows how to make your face look great with hair as its frame.

Billy has amazing skills. His haircuts look great for a long time, from every angle. I have tried many of the name brand hair dressers in town, but always go back to Billy. When I get my hair cut by him, my hair feels alive and in good condition for a long time. I look for a professional, classy and nice style, and have been very, very happy with Billy’s haircut’s. He will be my hair dresser for years to come.

I purchased the groupon for a Brazilian blowout and haircut with herve. it was my mistake to schedule my apt at 6pm. when I arrived there the salon was closed so it was just herve and me. a little strange. he was nice and funny, but I would’ve preferred a different time when the salon would’ve been open. I felt like he rushed through my appt. I asked for a short bob right below my chin. he only cut off like 2 inches and my hair is still at my shoulders :(I only paid the price for the groupon because ive hard great things about the Brazilian blowout. however I am not impressed. my hair is not straight (originally wavy to begin with) so it should’ve done something. he also didn’t do the entire procedure right. I am very disappointed as I hurried home from work and then rode my bike across town to make my appt. sad to say I will not be back.

Billy has no respect for a long time client like me. He was unprofessional how he handled the situation. He asked me for my opinion on the results of the high-​lights. I told him the truth.
The color on both sides of my head, did not match. I got blotches of brown on the left and blonde on the right. He made me look like I went to Fantastic Sams.
Billy, being unprofessional and upset about my comment, he started grumbling and saying that the $ 75 I was going to pay is not worth his time. And that him being in the hair industry for 20+ years. What matters and brings customers back are RESPECT and a FANTASTIC job. Then he said, I’ll do your hair straightening, but I think you should go and find someone to do your high-​lights. I never said anything, I just sat in the chair waiting for him to finish.
Another thing that’s unprofessional is when you bring personal matter (s) to a work place that is not good for client (s) to see and hear.

Billy is one of the best stylist I know on Oahu. He sees what you want and puts it into his work of art. Highly recommend his services!!!

Billy gave me the best hair cut I have ever gotten. We tried a new style on me as my hair is starting to thin out. The hand crafted services of his scissor-​over-​comb technique is flawless. I was able to squeeze in a same day appointment which was awesome. Good conversation and the time spent there was worth everything. I have a new found confidence with this haircut and will definitely be back!

Great hair cut makes you feel good. I feel great after visiting Billy fong again. He has been styling my hair for over 8 years. It’s going to be hard to replace him now that I have moved to California. If you’re looking for a person that cares and does a great job you need to visit Billy Fong studio.

This won’t be the fastest or the cheapest hair appt, but it will likely have the best results. I have been going to Billy for years, have gotten several straight perms, highlights, colors and cuts. Although I really hate spending all day at the salon, I’m willing to suffer through for the results. A necessary evil! I highly recommend this place and even take my mother there when she visits.
I can’t say I have ever left unhappy, yes a little tired and bored; but not unhappy. He does have a huge TV to play movies on if you are going to be there for awhile and often times he will provide food and beverage if your there all day.

I’ve had my hair done by a few people and seriously, Billy is the best person that has ever handled my tresses! The man just knows what he is doing. He is so knowledgeable with his techniques and also the products that he uses and sells in his store. And this may be a trait that most people would not want to reveal about themselves, but in order to further my review about how wonderful Billy is I am just going to say it. Like said earlier I’ve been through quite an amount of different hairdressers and seriously, Billy is the first one to ever comment that I have a flat head. And suffice to say, it’s quite true! Looks like my mom had me sleeping on my back as a baby way too much when I was still developing. But even so, Billy with his fantastic skills has this great technique in which he cut my hair so that back fluffs out more to hide this issue. He also colored my hair with some new, great ammonia free (and great smelling) product, which I forgot the name of. but go in there and get your hair colored and I promise it will come out feeling nicer than when you first came in. He also put some feathers in my hair, until then I did not know too much about this trend, but was open to it and wow did it look awesome with my new darker hair.
If you want to go a super friendly, knowledgeable, and very experienced hair dresser… make an appointment with Billy himself. The man is such a talented, creative genius with hair! Will definitely be going back, actually just made an appointment for next week, cannot wait! :)

Just had the pleasure of visiting this salon and meeting Herve who gave me an amazing brazilian blowout and bang trim. He was extremely thorough and attentive the entire time. Overall the service and care was great and I’d recommend Herve to anyone who wants to feel fabulous and sexy after their hair appointment!
