Although I have written reviews for Brent before since I have been visiting him for years, I felt it necessary to update my opinion since businesses can fluctuate in terms of quality of service and it’s important to have a timely review (especially if it’s positive and well-​deserved!).
I am an endurance athlete specializing in long distance open water swimming, and I visit Brent every year for a 2.4 mile ocean race held in Honolulu every Labor Day. It is essential for me to get an effective sports massage the night before my race, and Brent has been providing me with the perfect therapy for many years now. While his business is primarily locals and therapeutic in nature, he definitely knows his stuff and gives me a perfect pre-​race massage every time.
His office on Ward Ave is kept at a comfortable temperature and the linens are always fresh and ironed (this may be stating the obvious but you would be surprised). He will meet me ‘by appointment’ and is never late, and during the massage he keeps the pressure constant while he moves around focusing on all the necessary areas.
Also worth noting is that his pricing is very fair. Compared to (inferior) massages in Los Angeles, he is more affordable and in the end gives a better massage. This is one masseuse who I don’t mind tipping above and beyond the norm, he deserves every penny.
Although I prefer to keep him as my ‘best kept secret,’ it’s only fair he gets the recognition for a job well done.

I found out about Brent from locals while I was still in NYC. My husband who always puts me first wanted us both to get a massage. But the problem is Brent was booked up at night and we were booked up early mornings so the only thing left was prime beach time. So I choose to go to the beach while my husband got the massage. It is actually a necessity to get a massage while in Hawaii if you are over 40 and from somewhere else because of the long plane flights.
The pros.
1. Brent is honest personable and reliable
2. the prices are so reasonable he is not located in a resort but in the city of Honolulu.
3 .Brent is a knowledgeable licensed massage therapist who knows his stuff.
4 .Brent is knowledgeable about the island and can give advice about the island.
5. He always called when he said he was going to and kept his appointment and was on time. He left the beach from surfing to come and give the massage.
6. Brent has a pleasant personality with a pleasant demeanor.
Cons–
1.the only reason I do not give him 5 stars may not apply to you if you are reading but still the reason I have to give him 4 stars instead. I had asked for a Thai massage for my husband which is what he really wanted. Brent advertised at the time that he did it and we spoke about it. I remember speaking to him about it briefly while I was at J sisters getting my bikini wax to prepare for our trip. But when we got to Honolulu he said he longer did Thai massage. I think it had to do with a certification running out or something but it was what was expected. All in all I give him 4 stars for his prices and demeanor but have to subtract one for not following through with the Thai massage which is the main reason we went to him. My husband specifically wanted a Thai massage and was not able to get it. We went in October of 2009 so maybe that has changed since then.
I would not hesitate to recommend him for any of the regular massages that massage therapists usually offer.
