Amazing coffee made from a super rad steampunk coffee machine. They also use Verve coffee so between the two, you have an amazingly smooth, low acidic cup of coffee. Highly recommend coming here if you’re tired of Macademia-Nut-Vanilla-Hawaiian-Roast-Kauai-Kona Coffee that’s ubiquiotous on the island.

By far the best coffee on the island. The cold brew is my favorite! It is very smooth and beyond anything that Starbucks could ever make!

New and better hours! A place close to my place, walking distance for coffee. Located inside Paiko. On at least Sundays, Paiko is closed so you can only look and not buy while drinking your freshly deliciously brewed cup of coffee. They have this incredibly fancy coffee machine. Just watching it brew a cup of coffee is mesmerizing. Then watching it self-clean is just as distracting. Maybe I’m just easily amused? Anyway. Today we sampled the 1950 and the Ethiopian. Both were smooth and delicious but the Ethiopian was a bit more subtle. Both very delicious. Need to try all the different roasts. The only reason for one less star is cause they don’t have any munchies to eat. No baked concoctions or yogurt etc. But you can bring your own if you have the foresight to.

[ THEGOOD ] — Ice Coffee(House Blend) — Americano — Easy Parking — Atmosphere [ THEOKAY ] — Not much seating, maybe 6 – 8 people total — Definitely not a café to set up your work-office space [ PROTIP ] — Attached to Paiko, a beautiful local botanical florist design.

Great, modern coffee bar in Kaka’ako, Honolulu. All their coffees are delicious. I especially like the cold brew iced coffee. Their cold brew gives a very distinct flavor, unlike the iced coffee I get anywhere else. I love it and need it everyday! They have a few tables and chairs for seating but it’s more of a grab and go type place. The Décor inside is very chic and there is also a super cool botanical and succulent store inside the same space.

I have had Cocina(next door) on my bucket list for awhile and I decided to stop by yesterday. It was one of those scorching hot and humid days and I noticed next door Brue had their door closed which means they most probably had AC. I came in and it was refreshing all the way from the cool air, décor, and the smiling barista at the counter. I was looking at the lychee black tea, but the green and black tea mix was recommended after they seen my Cocina to go back. It did not disappoint. Very good pairing actually. Right now they have their summer specials still going in the afternoon and you can not beat those prices. Metered parking is available and I usually don’t have too hard of a time to find it in this area.

I always love coming here! Matt is amazing(like a coffee guru). They know real coffee, not just milk and sugar. Amazing Tea even. Definitely a fan of the Cortado. Only bad part is that there isn’t a lot of space to sit inside, outdoor seating isn’t so comfy. The coffee shop is inside of a plant store(that is over priced, just is convenient) but thats another story. They have Wifi(you just have to check-in on FB). Usually have small pastries(not typically much to choose from but usually are pretty good) they change the supplier.

This Brue Bar interior and exterior is very charming. However, the service was not. Went in and there was no barista to be found. The whole place was empty except for a lady drawing at the counter. So I went and took a look at Paiko’s succulents. I come back to the ordering table 5 minutes later, still, no one is there. I probably waited about 5 more minutes until someone came out. There needs to be a bell at the table for this location, hands down. The female barista finally came out. I ordered a mocha(note there was one order she had to keep track of – mine), and she gives me a latte, which is about a dollar cheaper(not sure). Worst brue bar experience I’ve ever had. I’ll stick to the ward warehouse and downtown locations. This brue bar in kakaako needs to hire better workers.

First time here. Was in the area & Unilocal!Members recommended this place. I appreciated the change in «coffee house» scenery. The succulents and the awesome music overhead created a new experience for me. I ordered the highly recommended Mocha(I usually order that from Starbucks). Although I had to wait for my coffee – it goes through a «real barista» experience – it was definitely worth it. No weird after taste – only smooth, creamy favors. Yum! I am a fan!!! Definitely coming back again.

Getting my coffee fix for the second time this week and sixth time overall(to be precise)! Excellent customer service. Baristas are extremely knowledgable and very informative/helpful when making a recommendation.

Great place to grab an iced coffee. Lots of great exotic varieties of coffee and tea. Brue baristas are all passionate and knowledgeable. It’s fun to hear them explain the story behind the growers of the coffee and the specifics of the region. Just like wine, coffee can have certain characteristics based on soil, region, weather, etc. It blows my mind how involved the entire chain of command is in bringing the customer a great cup of coffee. As of the moment, Brue is one of only two places in town that make individual cups of coffee with an «Alpha Dominche Steampunk.» It’s a really cool machine and if you’re interested in geeking out on the specifics, check out the link below: fyi– the link is NOT from a Brue. It’s just a video to show off the machine. Lastly, the tea selection is outstanding. Since being exposed to TEASOURCE teas, I’ve ordered my own collection of loose leaf teas from the source online. My favorites are lychee black and evening in missoula.

Love! I either get a cortado or cappuccino. Once I tried the macaroons, they were okay. But I still love love love their coffee, way better than starbucks around the corner if you’re willing to street park. Bonus: you can browse succulents and cool air plants.

My first time here! Had the Kii, a single-origin roast. Very balanced and a little milky(even though I drink it black). Guy who served me seemed to be in training but was friendly, as well as the more seasoned girl who was operating the cool steampunk coffee maker~ they explained that the machine works similarly to a french press, except that it agitates the coffee while it is brewing, then aerates it after pressing/straining out the grounds. I figure the aeration must be responsible for the more balanced, less acidic taste of the coffee(like airing a heavy red wine)! All in all, a good first experience, got to see the machine in action and have some excellent coffee for less than $ 5~ friendly and informative service, relaxed atmosphere and nice art/succulents to look at if I had more time to spend! Highly reccommended~

Nice Kaka’ako neighborhood coffee bar(sharing space with a plant/nursery!!!). Great specialty coffees and as well as preparation options! Had a Steampunk brew, vacuum/pressed process; you really get to savor the beans used and notice their nuances. Gary? the barista very knowledgeble in pulling a great brew.

Granted I’ve only been here once and it’s only for the coffee bar portion of the store. But I couldn’t help myself to leave this review. I ordered a medium iced chai tea latte and was given the option of either a ‘for here’ cup or a ‘to go’ cup. Only one employee was working the coffee bar and he was nice and pleasant to deal with. The place is clean and shares space with a plant store with workshops. I like the fact that it is within walking distance of where I work. And that it’s on a block with up and coming restaurants. There is no parking lot, only street parking. I’ll definitely will be back.

Pretty darn good cup of Joe… Upscale Coffee made in sophisticated equipment by experts. Opens at 9:30am which is a little late in my book but highly recommended.

This Brue Bar location has a warm copper plated Slayer espresso machine. The Caffe Ladro espresso blend has a smooth medium body and s little fruit and cocoa. I find the fruit comes forward more with a little sugar and a few drops of milk accentuates the cacao. The macchiato and cortado are also well done here. You can’t help but slow down and unwind after walking into The clean white, uncluttered space of Paiko. Once you settle in there is great street view counter seating that puts you above the head level of passing pedestrians and let’s you take in the Kakaako high rise skyline. If you prefer al fresco and picked something to nibble on there is two top outdoor seating next to the sidewalk.
